The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire about music magazine preferences for 16-24 year olds interested in indie/pop music. 10 individuals (5 male and 5 female) answered questions about what attracts them to this genre, whether they currently buy music magazines, how much they are willing to pay, and their preferences for magazine design elements like cover images, contents, and spreads. The key findings are that images of the musical genre are most popular, respondents are typically willing to pay £2-£3, and Q magazine's style is seen as most appealing. The researcher now better understands the target audience's interests to help design an indie/pop magazine.

11. SUMMARY OF
RESULTS
After conducting my research into my target audience; males and females aged 16-24 interested
in indie/pop music. Through the use of a questionnaire I have gained knowledge and
understanding of what they would like to see on a music magazine.
I asked 10 individuals; 5 males and 5 females.
I now have a better understanding of what attracts people towards a magazine and I found that
images of the musical genre that I have chosen, is what is most popular with people.
Also before I conducted my quantitative audience research (questionnaire) I wasn’t sure on how
much people were willing to pay for a music magazine and now I understand the majority of
people are willing to pay £2-£3.
Q magazine is the magazine that has influenced and inspired me from the start, from their use of
simple colours, images, contents, double page spreads and house style. In my questionnaire I
asked which of the following magazines do you find most eye catching and the majority of the
votes went to Q magazine, therefore I will continue to gain inspiration from Q magazine and try
and use similar conventions but suit it to my musical genre and target audience.
Also I have found what will encourage people, what people would like to see on the front
cover, contents and double page spread and when I come to creating my magazine I will take
into consideration all of the answers that I have found so that my magazine appeals to my target
market.
