This document discusses distributing a music magazine to target young adult audiences. It considers using major distributors like Dawn Media Group to promote the magazine nationally and internationally through retail stores, or independent distributors focused on urban areas. The proposed magazine would focus on pop music and feature popular artists to attract readers. Distribution through websites, blogs, and social media like Facebook and Twitter would allow a wider digital audience. Making the magazine available for download online would benefit those unable to find the physical copy. The target audience of young adults is addressed through eye-catching design on the cover with contemporary looking models and bright colors that appeal to teenagers.

3. MAGAZINE DISTRIBUTION.
Choosing the right channel of distribution for the
magazine is amongst one of most important
factors of its success. Customers assess the
product by analyzing different factors which
includes those that surround the product,
several of which are determined by the
distributor. These include; customer service,
delivery of the product and its availability. Thus,
choosing the right distributor is very important.

5. Major Distributors.
Major distributors aim to promote the magazine
not just at home but overseas too. They
promote the magazines in retail stores. The
magazines are well priced and they invest in
models for the covers, which helps in attracting
a larger audience. This helps in a wider sale of
magazines. This helps them make higher
profits. The main distributors in Pakistan are
DAWN, JANG, EXPRESS NEWS, ETC…

6. Independent Distributor.
Independent distributors have different ways
and strategies to introduce and promote the
product in market. They are small compared to
Major distributors. They focus on the promotion
of magazines in urban areas, especially in
shops and retail market, as they operate on a
small scale. There are a few independent
distributors in Pakistan as well such as Times &
Media Blinks.

7. Any Institution that might distribute
my music magazine and why?
The genre of my music magazine is POP and the target
audience is mainly the young adults. I think that Teen Times
Magazine would be a better option to market my magazine in
Pakistan. My magazine genre would be easily promoted. The
main method of attracting audiences is to advertise my
magazine on the Internet through websites such as blogs,
Facebook and Twitter. Another method of attracting
audiences is by having big artist/bands to model for my
magazine. The magazine can also be made available
for download onto a computer/iPad/iPhone which will
help me target a larger audience and will benefit those
who don’t want to purchase or cannot find the actual
magazine.

In marketing and advertising, a
target audience is a specific group
of people within the market
at which a product or the marketing
message of a product is aimed at.
The target audience of my magazine
are young adults.

My magazine is primarily targeted at
young adults, mainly because of its “pop”
genre. Which is the reason that the codes
and conventions that I have used on the
front cover of my music magazine are
different then that of any other music
magazine. Now I will tell you how I attract
the target audience.

According to my research on “POP”
magazines, I came to know that
“POP ” is listened and followed
mostly by the young adults as they
have special interest in following pop-
stars and staying up-to-date with their
lives.

12. How?
The younger audience is compelled by
my magazine because of the color
scheme used on my cover, content and
double spread page. Moreover, the price
of my magazine is very reasonable
which attracts the price conscious
people to buy it too and is available to a
wider audience due to its affordability.

14. Main Image.
The prominent image of my magazine is the
main attention grabber and is one of the
most important convention of a music
magazine to addresses my target audience.
The main reason is that the models on the
cover page fall under the same category as
the target audience for my magazine, and
the “style” of the models is very
contemporary, which helps the audience
relate to the product more effectively.

15. Masthead.
The masthead is placed in the middle and the
font used is bigger compared to the other
written matter on the cover page to make it
more visible. The most important factor here is
the color of the masthead, which is orange.
Orange is a very attractive and eye catching
color, which is the reason why I chose to use it.
The masthead of the cover page goes behind
the main image, showing a sign of steadiness.
