The document summarizes representations of social groups in a music magazine. It describes using a 16-year-old middle class girl named Georgia as the main artist featured throughout the magazine. Georgia is depicted wearing a leather jacket, with messy hair and dark lipstick in the cover image to represent the rock music genre. Her facial expression on the cover is intended to draw readers in by appearing shy yet interested in their reaction. The contents and article images also feature Georgia in a leather jacket to align with perceptions of the rock genre as more aggressive than others.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Question2
1. Question 2. How does your media
product represent particular social
groups?
2. Who has been presented in the magazine?
For my magazine cover I used Georgia, a middle
class 16 year old girl. For the main image and the
artist. The genre for my music magazine is rock,
therefore I got her to wear a leather jacket, make
her hair look messy and wear a dark coloured
lipstick. She is holding her jacket over her face a
little bit, this could come across as being shy, this is
unusual for someone that is a rock music artist,
therefore, this could make people want to read the
article to find out what she is really like. She is also
looking into the audiences eyes, this will draw their
attention into the magazine and encourage them to
read the magazine.
COVER
3.
4. This image features the same person that was
on the cover of the magazine, therefore this is
also Georgia, a middle class 16 year old girl. She
is wearing a leather jacket because they are
often associated with the rock genre. Her facial
expression in the image is quite hard to read
and can come across as quite harsh, this is good
because people that are involved in rock tend
to be seen as being more aggressive than other
music genres.
CONTENTS

6. ARTICLE
This is the image that I used in the article of the
artist. I used this image because I thought that it
shows the rock genre well because of the
leather jacket, messed up hair and dark makeup.
For this image I used Georgia, a middle class 16
year old girl. I used her throughout my magazine
because she is the main artist that is being
featured in my article.
