1. Q6) What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
By Angelia Potamides
2. The ICT used throughout the module and production of forming a solid
coursework piece allowed me to gain skills when using programmes such
as, slide share, photo slide, Issuu and finally Blogger which is an
electronic site we used to record and document our research as well as
production relating the music press . The above sites are used in order for
an individuals work to be presented in a greater dynamic way.
Alongside the publishing software used other desktop publishing
software used was pages, numbers and Adobe photoshop. Such software
that is commonly found on Macs has helped me create my own personal
music magazine.
Whilst being familiar with a few of the mac programmes, due to owning a
mac myself, I was intrigued about how much I was still able to learn. This
included many new key shortcuts that I have failed to realised previously
as well as being able to learn how to use photoshop for the first time and
produce a magazine.

3. Uploading and Downloading Files
• In order to produce a visually attractive piece of electronic media I
used a font download website titled “da font” in order to choose
the style of writing for many conventions such as my mast head,
strapline, as well as a the title for my feature article. After looking
through a series of fonts and browsing of the site I came across
three fonts that appealed to me. These were Jersey letters, Varsity
regular and finally Flower power. As previously stated I feel that
the above fonts suit and hinder the appropriate age groups as well
as the style of music the publication specialises in.
• By using online software such as slide share and slide I have been
able to present power points relating the evaluation questions and
information about online publications as well as using slide to form
together a dynamic production of images I have personally
captured.
• One of my personal favourite forms of uploading software was
issuu. This was purely due to way it was able to present my music
magazine as if it was a real physical publication.

4. Adobe Photoshop
• When creating the magazine publication photoshop was
used. Many reasons for using photoshop are as follows:
• Other mainstream professional magazine companies use Adobe
photoshop
The ability to work with layers, blending options, reflections etc
create a dynamic and visually attractive piece of work. For
example, adding shadows to texts and images created a style that
appeared almost three dimensional. Another positive would be
that after using many layers I was able to lock them all together
so they are able to freely move as one
Finally, it is also simple and efficient
• Personally I was unfamiliar with the programme however,
after learning the basis is was able to work at a quicker pace
and finally produce my final product.
5. iphoto
• The digital camera used to capture the images for my
magazine was a Samsung NX10 SLR.
• A similar method to the preliminary task was used when
uploading the taken images into iphoto and storing them i
order to proceed with any manipulation to the images the
maybe seen as necessary. Later they will be copied into
photoshop and mounted onto the magazine.
6. Pages
• Desktop publisher pages was
used to produce the feature
article of my publication. This
was done by forming a double
page spread and layering the
text into columns. After
completing the bare bones of
the feature article, special
features were added such as a
coloured background and
various images, symbols and
text boxes in order to deliver
feature article that portrays a
vivid artistic feeling.
