The target audience for my sports drama film was for both teenage boys and young adults from the ages
16-20,24 years old who are interested in sports drama . The reason I chose this for my target audience is
because I am fall into this category of teenagers and I thought it would be easier to do a film based on
what sport our main character likes. Another reason I chose this was because sports is a popular genre
amongst teenagers .Many young people especially teenager are influenced by the sports. Sport is a big
part of many young people's lives as they use it as an escape and release anger. As sport releases stress.
How does my product link specifically to the audience?
My film specifically links to the audience through the costume my protagonist is wearing. In my film he is
wearing a tracksuit most of the time when he is not he's wearing shorts. This is what is sportsmen wear.
I chose to do this as it is a very popular item of clothing teenagers love to wear. Also in the protagonist
room he had posters of boxers and people he wanted to be like. The reason I chose to do this is because
many teenagers take pride in decorating their rooms using posters of famous sports people. They enjoy
watching. I think this would appeal to my target audience as they would recognize it is part of the sport
genre. If I did let my main character wear tracksuits and fill his wall with posters this would not fit my
genre as well as it does.
