From my survey the most popular genre was pop music
You can see from my bar chart 38.98% of people chose
Pop music as their preferred genre of music. This was
good form me as pop music is my preferred genre of
music so it was convenient as I already knew a lot of
information. Once I knew the genre I would be focusing
on I started researching pop music magazines to see
the lay out and style of them and saw that they were
primarily bright and bold magazines and stood out effectively.
This is why on my front cover and contents I used bright colours
such as yellow and purple and the shapes of stars to add more
colour and make it stand out as much as possible!
3. What my market research showed about gender:
From my market research I got a result of what gender my pubic audience were.
You can see from my pie chart of analysed results that more than
half of the people (74.58%) were a female audience and just under
A quarter (23.73%) were male. From these results I had to decide
how to create a magazines that predominantly females would be

This had to think about colour schemes and the photos I used.
I used a female on my cover to interest the predominant females and also on my contents page
used pictures of two males to make the magazine mixed. Also both males and females would be
interested in the top charts which is why I included that feature to my magazine. Also the use of
the chance to win concert tickets as this is something anyone would want the chance to get their
hands on.
4. What my market research showed about age:
From my market research survey I did I found that my targeted audience
was between the ages of 16-19 (67.80%) my other biggest amount was
people under the age of 16 (23.73%) from these results I had to create a
from of magazine that would be suitable for young teenagers up to the
ages of 19. Seen as my chosen genre was pop music I had a lot to work
with within celebrities that young people are interested in, this made
creating my magazine easier and more enjoyable as this was a topic
I was interested in and being teen myself I know the sort of things that teens today are interested in.
I decided to look at current artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande these are artists younger
people are interested in. also the use of the free posters are something a more younger audience would
want in a magazine more than adults.
