Tia Harding learned several skills from completing preliminary tasks, including how to design effective magazine covers, how to use Photoshop more professionally to edit images, and how flat plans are used to design page layouts. She also gained experience using the blogging site Weebly to upload and edit coursework, and learned about target audience profiling to understand demographics and psychographics.

doing the preliminary task?

2. • I have learnt the key elements that create a good magazine cover
which are some of the following: masthead, cover lines, dateline,
pricing, barcode, etc.
• I have also learnt how to use Photoshop in a more skilful manner and I
am now able to edit pictures/work properly and in a more professional
way.

3. • I have learnt that a flat plan is
used to help design and give an
idea of how the layout of a
particular page will look. This
allows me to focus on the
positioning of specific terms like
main image, masthead, dateline,
etc.

4. • I have learnt how to use the blogging site, Weebly. This has allowed
me to upload and edit my coursework in order for it to be marked and
assessed so I know what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong. I
have also learnt many skills through using Weebly, for example: how to
create new pages, how to publish my blog, how to customize my blog
in order to make it look unique, etc.

5. • I have learnt that target audience profiling is a written
evaluation on your target audience characteristics,
attitudes, what they like and dislike as well as what they
believe in which help to understand the demographics
and psychographics of them.
