How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary
texts?
Rob Jamieson
This is our Magazine Cover for our final
project. We have used this cartoon crayon style
for both this and our poster. We tried to keep
this cartoon style for our printed products this
is because we tried to create a mysterious
trailer where the normal isn’t shown therefore
by having our printed products being cartoony
and not normal follows our theme of our film
of being mysterious.
We kept our titles the same style across the
different platforms we chose this style
because it follows the conventions of the
horror genre such as the font being “slasher”
Through out all of our products we have tried
to keep the same characters involved in each
products for example we have all the
characters in the poster in the first shot of the
trailer. Also we have the last shot of the trailer
as a picture of the antagonist of the film and
in the poster we have the victim of the film
with the eyes of the antagonist “looking over
him” in the magazine cover we done this to
show the characters of our film in the poster
and in the magazine cover we made the
pictures of the trailer and the cover the
opposite.
We kept the same company indent and logos
across the different platforms in this example
we have picture box studios which is on both
our poster and our trailer. We done this to
imitate real media products with the same
company involved in every piece of media
product.
Conclusion
• I found that we were good at keeping all of
our products similar in their own ways such as
the poster and the magazine cover both being
cartoony and surreal also the titles we created
for our film we kept across all of our products
so I feel we were effective at keeping a brand
identity.
