3. HEADLINE
The first form of my article page is the large headline. I have
used this headline to create a mysterious feeling around the
artist, making the reader want to find out about why he can
not be king and how he can overcome the setbacks.
I have used a back graphic on this headline. This is a form
used in order to make the words stand out much more and
be more engaging with the reader.
The use of a rather large headline is a convention of music
magazines because the majority of them have a large
headline to make sure the reader knows what they are
going to read.
4. PULL QUOTE
The use of a pull quote is another form of my article. This
pull quote is again used to create mystery because it
contrasts with the headline. This is because the artist, Brad,
believes that he is the king of rock however others do not.
This is giving the mysterious feel of why others do not
actually feel this yet and how he can actually become the
king of rock.
The pull quote is a very common convention of music
magazines and is used by almost every magazine article. It
is usually used to give a slight insight into the actual article
to make the reader want to read on.
5. ARTICLE TEXT
For the actual text of my article I have used a Q&A format. I
chose this because I felt that I could create a very
interesting question and answer session in order to get the
best out of my work.
This is another convention of music magazines because
there is a vast amount of Q&A magazine articles on the
market and it is the most common form of article.
The actual text of my magazine is presented in a very small
manner, This here is another convention of music
magazines however I have broken one convention by not
making the first letter a lot larger than the others. I did this in
order to make my magazine slightly different and unique
compared with the others.
6. IMAGE
For the image on my article page I have used a large photograph
of Brad facing towards the headline and away from the camera. I
have positioned Brad to face him towards the camera in order to
make him seem like he is looking up to the challenge of becoming
king and due to the fairly smug look, he feels he can easily beat
the challenge, if he doesn’t feel he already has.
Although most magazine articles do have a photograph on there,
not too many actually break the convention of eye-contact. I did in
fact break this convention in order to create the feeling I did and i
felt it went well.
This here shows the
Image of Brad.
7. COLOUR SCHEME
Whilst creating my music magazine, I noticed that red was
my predominant colour. I felt that I could change this in my
article in order to give a new feel but keep the smooth
transition of colours fairly similar. To do this I just made sure
to use minimal red. This in turn gave my article a slightly
different, modern look with a minimalistic feel.
Minimal colour
red to create a
more modern
look.
