This document outlines the topics and learning outcomes of a Quantitative Business Methods course. The 10 topics covered are: graphical data analysis, statistical measures, regression and correlation, time series analysis, index numbers, sampling techniques, statistical inference 1 & 2, statistics in quality, and financial mathematics. For each topic, students will demonstrate they can apply the appropriate techniques and use computer packages where relevant. The course is 12 hours over 2 weeks, meeting 3 times per week, and costs 600 Egyptian pounds total.

Use appropriate computer packages to explore data sets especially large ones
Appraise published graphs
2. Statistical measures
At the completion of this topic, students will be able to demonstrate that they can find and interpret
some basic statistical measures
3. Regression and correlation
At the completion of this topic, students will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Use the basic principles and methods of regression and correlation
Use statistical or spreadsheet packages to draw scatter plots, fit regression models and draw
residuals plots
4. Time series analysis
At the completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Apply basic time series analysis
Use PC info’s where appropriate
5. Index numbers
At the completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Use index numbers for some basic purposes
Use PC info’s where appropriate
6. Sampling techniques

Find and interpret confidence intervals for means and proportions
Use computer packages where appropriate
9. Statistics in quality
At the completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Describe some aspects of a quality philosophy
Use methods from the rest of the subject in business situations where the aim is to improve quality
10. Financial mathematics
At the completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Use basic financial mathematics correctly
Use a computer spreadsheet where appropriate
Our focus is on student-centered learning. Our practical and accessible qualifications give students
skills that they can apply in their day to day work or life experiences. The courses can be adapted to
meet particular learning needs and student interests and can be combined to provide a unique
integrated program.
 Duration : 12 hours – 2 weeks – 3 times per week
 Fee : 600 L.E
 Payment: 200 L.E registrations – 200 L.E after third Class – 200 L.E at the end of the course.
