What is NAAC
• The National Assessment and Accreditation
Council is an autonomous body established
[1994] by the University Grants Commission
(UGC)of India to assess and accredit
institutions of higher education in the country .
• It is an outcome of the recommendation of the
National Policy on Education (NPE)

Why NAAC?
• To ensure the satisfactory level of quality in higher
education, they permits the formation of institutions
of higher education with fancy programs of standard
facilities and standard.
• Institution to know its strengths, weaknesses, and
opportunities through an informed review process
• Funding agencies look for objective data for
performance funding etc.
• Institutions to initiate innovative and modern
methods teaching.
