This paper assesses the effectiveness of existing security approaches for Near Field Communication (NFC) devices and services, highlighting the security challenges they face, such as vulnerability to eavesdropping and insufficient standard protocols. It reviews various research contributions focused on enhancing NFC security, emphasizing a lack of comprehensive literature addressing the robustness of existing techniques. The study aims to identify research trends and gaps in securing NFC applications, suggesting that existing cryptographic algorithms may not be universally effective in NFC contexts.
