This document presents a Pareto diagram analyzing the major factors for students bunking lectures. It finds that laziness, ineffective teachers, peer pressure, and self-study account for 80% of the reasons through a frequency table and Pareto chart. Solutions proposed include building student stamina through outdoor activities rather than video games from a young age, engaging teaching methods, and addressing peer influence. The key lesson is that a Pareto chart helps prioritize factors and bunking lectures has multiple contributing causes.

• A Pareto chart, named after Vilfredo Pareto, is a type of
chart that contains both bars and a line graph.
• The Purpose of the Pareto chart is to HIGHLIGHT THE
MOST IMPORTANT AMONG A SET OF FACTORS.

• With everything becoming faster & more simple, people

teaching make students feel that those lectures aren’t
worth attending or their time.

9. Solutions
Young minds should not be made lazy from their childhood
from video games, their stamina should be built gradually
from outdoor games.
Also young inquisitive minds must never be suppressed by
adults, by denying them answers , thinking the are too
young to understand.
It has negative impact on their psychology and gradually
they stop asking “WHY?”.
New and interesting teaching methods should be adopted
by teachers to keep students engaged and passionate.

10. Lesson learned
• A Pareto Chart helps in summarizing the relative
importance of the differences between different
groups of data using column graphs.
• Bunking lecture is not only a failure on student’s
part but also on teacher, management and other
factors.
