Rafael is tasked to find the missing number in the
following equations. He had already tried to find the
missing numbers for almost an hour but still he cannot
find it.
1) 12+24+34 = 34+12+_
2)2X(15+20)=(__X15)+(2X___)
3. 8 X 7 = ____ X 8
4) 24 + __ = 5 + 35
5) (16X5)X4=8 X(__ X 4)
Find the missing number in each
equation below.
1. ___+8=12+7
2. 24-___ = 10 + 5
3. 36÷4=____X3
4. 16X___=36+2
5. 9X___=5X____
Supply the missing terms in the equations
below.
1. 3+15+57=___+3+57
2. 5X(8+9)=(__X8)+(__x9)
3. (5X1)X(10x3)=(3x5)x (___x1)
4. 69+___=____+111
5. ___x30=15x____
Heatis a form of energy associated with the motion
of particles.
The energy transfer can occur in three ways:
convection, conduction, and radiation.
Convection is heat travels in air and water.
Radiation is the heat that can be transmitted across empty
spaces or vacuum.
Conduction is the transfer of heat from molecules through solid
materials.
The matter is made up of small particles. There is more
energy, and the temperature is higher when the particles are moving
faster. When materials allow heat to flow easily, they are conductors.
Examples for these are metal, aluminum, and steel.
Insulators are materials that heat passes slowly or not at all.
Ceramic, wood, and plastic are good examples of insulators.
1. Convection is the transfer of heat from one place to another by the
movement of fluids.
2. We have wind movements and local breezes because of the
convection.
Radiation is the heat that can be transmitted across space
or vacuum. It does not depend on the presence of matter to
transfer heat.
Some examples of heat transfer by radiation are the
heat near a hot stove and a fire source.
Heat is very im portant to us. It helps us a lot in
boiling water, cooking foods, in electricity, and in drying
laundry.
The sun is the ultimate source of heat produced by a
nuclear reaction.
Another source of heat is burning fuels. Fuel is a
substance that is combustible and produces heat when it is
How does heat travel?
Heat is the transfer of energy from one object
to another, or from an energy source to an
object. The heat transfer can occur in three
ways: conduction, convection, and radiation.
Complete Science Ideas.
It can be concluded therefore that ______________________ is transferred in
three different ways. _____________________ is transfer of heat from
molecules through solid materials, ________________ is transfer of heat from
one place to another by the movement of fluids, and _________________
is the heat that can be transmitted across space or vacuum.
The transfer of heat in solid materials is
called conduction. Conduction is the heat
transfer through a substance or from a
substance to another by direct contact.
Write the letter of the correct answer on the space provided for.
_______1. Which one is NOT a form of energy?
a. heat b. force c. light d. sound
_______2. Which is NOT belong to the methods of heat
transfer?
a. conduction c. reflection
b. convection d. radiation
_______3. What will happen to a liquid when heated?
a. It will increase in temperature.
b. It will increase its water level.
c. It will remain the same.
d. It will increase in volume.
Write the letter of the correct answer on the space provided for.
_______4. When heat is transferred through solid materials, it is
called _______.
a. conduction c. convection
b. radiation d. reflection
_______5. The heat transferred from one place to another
