The document discusses feedback received from the target audience of a music video project. A questionnaire was distributed to the target audience of 16-18 year old males and females to determine preferences for shots, narrative, genre, and other elements. This informed the initial production of the music video. The first draft received feedback that helped improve areas like narrative clarity and camera work. A focus group then viewed the final draft and provided positive feedback while also noting lighting could be improved with more low-key contrasts. Overall, the target audience feedback helped at both pre-production and post-production stages to ensure the music video would appeal to its intended viewers.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

5. Questionnaire
We created a questionnaire to hand out to our target market as we printed and handed
out 10 copies to both males and female between the ages 16-18 year olds .
By handing out the questionnaires we were able to find out what shots and narrative the
target audience would like the music video to include , as well as considering each opinion
and include this in the music video in order to appeal to the target market .
The questionnaire consisted of 7 different questions that the audience would need to
answer as these questions were different and would have needed their own personal
opinion. The questions included: age, gender, genre of music interested as well as shot
types they prefer, narrative, lighting
6. Questionnaire results
■ The questionnaire results helped to identify what our target audience would like to see in our music video
.After conducting the questionnaire the results showed the age range of our target market is 16-18 year olds
both male and female. With this we ensured in the music video that that we would uses actors that are a
similar ages to the audience as this would appeal to the target market more , we included both a male and
female character.
■ The results also demonstrated the most popular chosen shot type and narrative the audience would like the
music video to include. As these were long, medium and close up shots , this then meant we had an idea of
what sort of shots we would then need to include in our narrative as the most popular narrative chosen was
a storyline.
■ We asked the target audience what music genre they are into as the results demonstrated indie this then
meant we were able to base our music video idea on indie genre as well as researching into existing product
and convention of this genre and try to include into our music video as we researched in bands such asThe
1975, kings on Leon and Artic Monkey .
■ By the audience completing the questionnaire we were able to use their responds and apply it effectively on
our music video
7. MusicVideo 1st draft feedback
■ After filming and editing our music video
We were able to show our completed music video to the target market and a teacher. With this they were able to express what
they liked about the music video as well as the areas that would need improvement so that we were able to get higher marks
and make the overall music video be more appealing and clearer.
The suggestions included :
•Liked the end of view shot coming out of the bath
•Music video could have been slightly longer
•Narrative wasn’t always clear , however was still good – make it clearer
•Opening could be better
•Liked the party
•Scene when she’s walking out the house was shaky, improve camera work
•Have a shot of her walking into party scene then show the party scene
- Overall music video was good just need improvements some areas
We were then able to improve our work with this criticisms and re-film some footages before the focus group were able to
watch the final music video
8. Focus group –Final music video
■ The Focus group consisted of 4 teenagers between the ages of 16-18 year olds both
male and females as we filmed their reaction when watching our music video in a
group and talked about what they liked and what they may have not enjoyed in
particular and gave us feedback on ways we could improve.
■ After watching the video from start to finish , they responded positively by saying that
they liked the editing technique , shot types was not limited as we used different
shots effectively and also liked the concept and narrative of the music video as it very
different to a typical narrative of indie genre music video but was also unique as it had
a performance and a storyline.
■ However they had also said that the music video could have been improved by using
more of a range of contrasting light such as using more low key lighting in particular
scenes as this also follows the typical conventions of a indie music video.
9. Overall the audience feedback shown to be particular helpful as it had helped us in both the
pre and post production areas.
They were particularly helpful in the pre- production process as they were able to help as they
produced and gave us the questionnaire feedback which included information On what they
would like to see in an indie genre music video , narrative shot types and overall concept they
would like to see in the music video. This then meant that all we had to do was to take into
account their response when producing the music video to ensure that it would appeal to the
target market we had in mind.
The audience feedback had also helped us during the post- production process by
demonstrating the completed music video and giving us overall feedback during the focus
group and discussing what they liked and did not like and how it could be improved so it could
appeal to them more.
