Throughout the project, a range of new media technologies were used for communication, research, planning, and evaluation. These included social networking sites like Facebook, blogging sites like Blogger.com, and search engines like Google. Hardware like digital cameras, camcorders, and computers along with software like Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop were used to construct, edit, and produce the final music video, CD packaging, and advertisement.

2. How did you use new media technologies in constructing, research planning and evaluation? Throughout the entire project, a range of technologies were used. The basic technologies used for communication within our group was either through mobile phones or social networking sites such as facebook. Throughout, I made daily posts on a blogging website called ‘blogger.com’ to provide a step by step overview in the constructing of my product, including research, analysis to call sheets. Technologies used for music video: Firstly, the research leading up to our final product was done through the internet using blogger.com, search engines such as google.com and youtube.com used for analysis. A digital cameracorder was used alongside a digital still camera to take still images of locations and images for planning and research. Hardware technologies such as my USB and a external hard drive was used to store work on making it mobile for me to work on any computer. Alongside this technologies such as mixing desks, microphones and keyboards were used as props in the music video. To log and capture footage, a capturing tape machine was available to us to move along our footage to the Apple Mac computers. Most importantly we used ‘Final Cut Pro’ to use for editing. At first it was difficult to use but after getting the hang of it as a group, our main editor used it well. By Zarah Matin

4. Technologies used for cd pack and advert: Digital still cameras were used to capture the images to use for CD packaging and advert. As well as using blogger.com throughout to continue with my daily posts and internet was used again for research analysis. The computer software I used for both my CD pack and advert was the CS4 Adobe Suite, specifically Adobe In Design and Adobe Photoshop. This help me construct and edit my final product. As I have had previous experience when using this software, I felt it was easier to use because of previous knowledge. By Zarah Matin
