Pythagoras was interested in the golden section and proportions of the human body, showing that each part is in a definite golden proportion to others. His discoveries greatly influenced Greek art, where every part of buildings was constructed based on these proportions. The Golden Ratio is approximately 1.618 and describes a line divided such that the ratio of the whole to the larger part equals the ratio of the larger part to the smaller part.
