Purpose Of Narrative Essay
Crafting an essay on the "Purpose of Narrative Essay" poses a unique challenge, as it requires a
delicate balance between elucidating the fundamental principles of narrative storytelling and
delving into the broader significance of this genre. The inherent complexity lies in unraveling the
layers of narrative, transcending mere storytelling to explore its deeper purpose in conveying
experiences, emotions, and perspectives.
One must navigate through the intricacies of narrative structure, character development, and
thematic coherence while addressing the core purpose. Additionally, the essay demands a
nuanced examination of how narrative essays serve as powerful tools for communication,
empathy-building, and self-reflection. Articulating these ideas in a cohesive manner requires a
keen understanding of literary elements, coupled with the ability to convey their relevance in a
broader societal context.
Moreover, the challenge extends beyond technical proficiency to capturing the essence of
storytelling—the ability to transport readers into different worlds, evoke emotions, and
provoke thoughtful contemplation. The writer must grapple with the intricacies of language,
tone, and rhythm to create a narrative that not only informs but also engages and resonates with
the audience.
Despite its complexity, writing an essay on the purpose of narrative essays offers a rewarding
journey of self-discovery. It involves not only unraveling the intricacies of the genre but also
reflecting on the profound impact storytelling has on human connection and understanding. The
task requires a writer to be both a meticulous analyst and a skilled storyteller, weaving together
insights and narratives seamlessly.
In conclusion, exploring the purpose of narrative essays is a challenging yet intellectually
stimulating endeavor. It demands a writer's prowess to dissect the elements of storytelling and
articulate their significance. However, the ultimate satisfaction lies in unraveling the mysteries of
narrative expression and understanding the profound role it plays in shaping our understanding
of the world.

Tesla Motors, An American Company
Tesla Motors Incorporated, an American company that designs, produces, and sells
electric vehicles and their electric components, has become one of the fastest
growing car companies in recent history. The company s main goal was to start
creating electric vehicles that were accessible and affordable to the public. Founded
in 2003 and taking off successfully by 2009, Tesla Motors started selling the first
mass produced vehicle to use lithium ion battery cells and hold a range of greater
than 200 miles on just one charge. Along with building their own electric vehicle
models, Tesla also builds electric powertrain components for vehicles from other
automakers including cars such as the Toyota RAV4 electric vehicle. Tesla has begun

Wong goes on to say that the Roadster doesn t have a reverse gear either, but
instead runs the motor in the opposite direction to reverse. Because of this, the
Roadster is one of the only high performance vehicles that runs as fast in reverse as
it does in drive. On top of such a unique innovation, the motor is also efficiently
used for regenerative braking. Wong mentions that drivers can charge the ESS
with just 220 V, using Tesla s incredibly fast onboard charger. A full recharge takes
3.5 hours. When it comes down to it, completely electric vehicles have been
around for a while, but they have never had as much commercial success as energy
efficient vehicles that use fossil fuels. Ethanol, hydrogen, coal, and oil are all not
as energy efficient as the lithium ion run electric vehicles are and can be. The ESS
Tesla has created has raised the bar for the efficiency of electric vehicles and
knocked down virtually all other sources for vehicle power. If we could look at
Tesla s vehicle models and other electric vehicle models stripped down, with
everything removed but the frame, wheels, and electrical propulsion system, we
would see just how far Tesla has come in their design of the electric vehicle and how
they have surpassed other car companies with their innovation. According
Taking a Look at Solanine
solanine
It is a glycoalkaloid. It is a poison. It is present in the nightshade family i.e
Solanaceae especially in species tomato and potato. Solanine is found naturally in
many parts of plants e.g tubers, leaves and fruits. It also has pesticidal and
fungicidal characteristics. It also act as a natural defence system of plant. Firstly it
was extracted in 1820 from a berry i.e Solanum nigram.
Solanine poisoning and it s symptoms primary symptoms of solanine poisoning are
neurological and gastrointestinal disorders.
Other symptoms may be vomiting, burning of throat, nausea, cardiac dysrythmia,
diarrhea, nightmare, dizziness, stomach cramps and a common symptom headache.
Hypothermia, fever, dilated pupils, hallucination, paralysis and losss of sensation
occur in very severe cases and somtimes death can also accur.
Way of action
A result of a study show that the mechanism of solanine toxicity is mainly due to it s
chemical interaction with the membranes of mitochondria. It is shown by
experiments that when solanine is exposed, it result in opening of pottassium
channels of mitochondrial membrane, in it s result the membrane potential is
decreased and then Ca 2+ are transported from mitochondria to the cytoplasm due to
which concentration of Ca 2+ is increased in the cytoplasm which result in the
apoptosis i.e cell death and cell damage.

Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, And Daniel Webster And
Their...
Perhaps the three most influential men in the pre Civil War era were Henry Clay,
John C. Calhoun, and Daniel Webster. These men all died nearly a decade before
the civil war began, but they didn t know how much they would effect it. States
rights was a very controversial issue, and one which had strong opposition and
radical proposals coming from both sides. John C. Calhounwas in favor of giving
states the power to nullify laws that they saw unconstitutional, and he presented this
theory in his Doctrine of Nullification . Daniel Websterstrongly disagreed with this
proposal and showed this by giving powerful support to President Jacksonin resisting
the attempt by South Carolina to nullify the tariff of abominations , as they called...

The secession of South Carolina from the Union was the most extreme way that the
South argued for states rights. John C. Calhoun was, perhaps, best remembered for
his part in inspiring the South s effort to achieve national independence in the Civil
War, even though it took place nearly twelve years after his death.
Daniel Webster was one of the best orators in the United States during his time and,
perhaps, ever. While arguing that the Constitution had created a single, unified
nation he put up strong opposition to nullification. When Webster spoke on the
senate floor, he left everyone in awe. He was a magnificent lawyer and a
convincing speaker. Daniel Webster was probably best remembered for his role in
the short story The Devil and Daniel Webster .
Henry Clay was, perhaps, the greatest compromiser of all time, authoring such
documents as the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, and the 1833
compromise bill that gradually lowered the tariff which the South had been so angry
about. His view on states rights was that they should work with the federal
government to come to come to a compromise on the issue. Henry Clay was best
remembered for his support of the Compromise of 1850.
These three men were very different in a time of more partisanship and anger that
today. I believe that
John Kotter Failure
Large scale change is not a simple matter, the complexity and many moving parts can
be distilled down into a couple models, however pulling off a successful
transformation is extremely challenging. Unfortunately, the odds are not good for
change. Research by John Kotter revealed that only thirty percent of change programs
succeed. The main reasons for the failures are not related to resources or budgets, but
behavior and more specifically, employee resistance and managementbehaviors that
do not support the intended changes. These are the two leading causes that result in
seventy percent of failures. Kotter first reported on this dismal success rate back in
1995, and quite honestly, there has been little progress at advancing the success of
Genetic Discrimination In Australia
only lead to discrimination with insurance coverage but also with employers. Once
the genetic information is part of the individual s medical record, it may then be
accessed by others. Cases of employers having used genetic information as part of
the selection process have been found in Australia. Genetic discrimination has even
been detected in the armed forces where a young man was asked to provide
documentation that showed he was not predisposed to Marfan syndrome, of which
he had a family history. Genetic discrimination is probably the biggest concern for
individuals when it comes to the cause and effects of genetic testing upon society.
Some of this concern roots from the extreme examples of world leaders and prevalent
scientists in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the genetic information is only accessible to the individual then there is a
decreased chance of such discrimination occurring because the information is
disclosed to who the individual wishes to. Genetic information can raise questions
about personal responsibility, personal choice versus genetic determinism, and
concepts of health and disease. Personal factors, family values, and community and
cultural beliefs can mould the reactions to these issues. For example the response to
the genetic information and suggestion from physicians after the test will be
drastically different in a society where traditions and religion determine life choices,
such as India, than to a more individually liberal society like the USA. Even in a
progressive society that has had specific ethnic groups for multiple generations
disparities with medical technology are common. A study conducted, using the
national representative data, in the USA with the sample that consisted of 1724 men
and women of non Hispanic whites, Latinos, and African American background.
Results exposed significant differences by racial/ethnic groups in knowledge and
concerns about the potential misuse of genetic testing. Significantly higher levels of
mistrust in a physician and the medical system was a common thread within
minorities. The genetic tests can be a way of ridding anxiety attached to the
assumed inheritance of genetic disease due to family background whilst for others
the genetic test reveals their reality. The results can have a great deal of a
psychological impact upon the individual. The possibility of developing a genetic
disease alone can create anxiety within some. The psychological impact from the
results revealed is another issue that society is concerned about. A
The Presidential Model Of The United States
From the materials we covered in classes I believe that a parliamentary system, as
opposed to the presidential model of the United States might solve problem of
having a low approval of the government. In the US we have the presidential
model. The presidential model has single head of state that is the face of the
country, plays a very small role in day to governing of the country and head of
government who actually runs the government, executive that is responsible for day
to day governing of a particular society. In the case of United States, President
Barack Obama holds both positions. If we were to compare this to the United
Kingdom, the head of stateis the queen, she is the face of the country, doesn t really
run the government. While David Cameron, the prime minster is the head of the
government, he is the one in charge of actually running the government. The head
of government is different from the head of state unlike the United States. In the
presidential model there is a single executive with real decision making powers and
can only be removed under extreme circumstances. It also has Separate elections
and separate survival. Doesn t matter how poorly or how well the president s party
does in legislative election doesn t affect his election or survival. It will not affect the
presidents time in office because they are separately elected and their survivals aren t
linked. But in parliamentary systemit does matter, if you lose the support of your
party, you are
Greek Women Stereotypes
Classical Greek myths and legends still resonate within modern society today. These
myths and legends are so powerful that they still make ideal material for Hollywood
studios, directors, and authors alike. Although, these stories have gone through
countless adaptions, gender stereotypes are still present. The depiction of men, both
mortal and immortal, in these myths and legends are of heroes, warriors, demigods,
powerful gods, and fantastical creatures from the reader s dreams or nightmares. In
contrast, the role of women in these myths and legends are presented as either; the
troublemaker, who is driven purely by their envy and spite of other women or men
who are a threat to their ego; the seductress, who draws men in using their sexuality...

The emotionally driven possesses great qualities of strength and wisdom, however
their behaviour can be unpredictable, if challenged or threatened, and can lash out
impulsively. This stereotype relates to the goddess of wisdom, Athena, although
depicted as intelligent, often punishes mortals who are a threat to her own skill.
Arachne, a mortal girl who possessed great skill in the art of weaving, challenged the
goddess, Let Athena try her skill with mine. Athena heard her call, yet did not smite
her where she stood, instead she disguised herself and stated, I advise you to ask her
forgiveness for what you have said, and as she is merciful perhaps she will pardon
you. When Arachne refused, she showed her full form, and accepted her contest.
After making their individual tapestries, Athena supposedly admitted defeat, tore her
opponent s work to shreds and forced Arachne to feel so much remorse and guilt for
her actions, leading her to kill herself. Athena then cursed her, and turned her into the
first spider, and doomed Arachne to reflect on the competition for eternity. This
reinforces the idea that when women have traits commonly belonging to men, they
fall victim to their own emotions, thus not deeming them worthy. Another myth to
reinforce this is Athena s invention of the flute. When she begins to play her
instrument, she gets teased by her fellow goddesses, and
The Journey Of Life Has Changed My Life
The journey of life has thought me to be honest and loyal. As I arrive in the United
States of America in the 2013, it was a dream come through. I made a promise to
my parents that I will be a good child and stay out of trouble. It was tears of joy
when it was time to say good bye to my parents. On my arrival at the Dallas airport,
my uncle was there to welcome me and took me home. On our way home I couldn
t believe my eyes that, the things I see on television am now having physical visual
of them. After a month in United State of America I applied for a community
college because I didn t want to over stay at home since I was in my third year in
University in my country. But after my placement test I was accepted into the school.

Even I believe in hard work pays but this work is hard and is not paying. After three
months of working at the gas I saw there was no improvement in my paycheck and
my manger keeps reducing my work hours for no reasons. So my love for the work
began to fade away and decided not complain about it anymore because the more I
complain the more it get worse. The only option was to quit the job without
informing my manager in case I get a new job that pays well. Something
unbelievable happened at work which changed my situation. After a long and busy
night shift. Mostly I inform my manager before I clock out, for him to know am
not going home with something which is not mine. As soon as I entered my
manager s office, he told me to sit down. I was a little nervous because mostly when
my manager asks me to sit for a conversation that s, there is a problem or a report
from a customer. My manager told me a customer called to report a missing wallet
and in case If I have seen it I should give it to me. I made it clear to my manager that
I have no ideal of the missing wallet he is talking about. After I left my manager s
office I decide to use the restroom before I leave for my house. After I was done with
what I came to the restroom to do, I decided to change the trash can in the restroom
since It was almost full. As I pull the trashcan and about to pull the trash bag out of
the can, I saw a black wallet. I decided to
Essay On The Growth Of Gold Nanoclusters
Abstract: In this article, a facile and rapid method was developed to synthesize
intensely photoluminescent catalytic gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) based on etching
small citrate capped gold nanoparticles using 4,6 dimethyl 2 pyridineselenol 3
caronitrile and 4 Methylquinolineselenol 3 carbonitrile as models for organoselenium
compounds. The size and the catalytic performance of the prepared fluorescent
nanoclusters were characterized using suitable Transmission ElectronMicroscope
(TEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Electrospray Ionization Mass
Spectrometry (ESI MS) and photoluminescence techniques. It is shown that Au
clusters with an average diameter of gold core 0.78 В± 0.41 nm (in the range of 5 9
atoms), have a catalytic role in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In top down techniques, clusters are synthesized from larger nanoparticles or bulk
metal. Etching of nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down
techniques can be used for the synthesis of metal clusters. Removing the surface
atoms or break the metal nanoparticles into smaller clusters by using the etching
capacity of such ligands will lead to synthesize stable quantum clusters. For example,
Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold
nanoparticles with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters
either with 8 or 25 gold atoms [16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating
polymers can also be used to etch preformed colloidal gold nanocrystals producing
highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that small noble metal
nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of
thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol
reduction with NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22].
Organoselenium compounds are of considerable interest due to their wide efficiency
and applicability with numerous therapeutic applications [23]. In addition, the
presence of a heterocyclic ring in these compounds upgrades their properties to a great
I Have A Good Idea Of My Stress
When it comes to wellness issues, I have always struggled the most with stress. I
have always been more prone to become stressed, due to my anxiety. Therefore,
stress is a big obstacle in my life, and it is something that I need to find a way to
deal with, especially now that I have begun to attend college. Because I have dealt
with anxiety before, I have a good idea of my stress level. My stress levels can
become very high, and as a result, I have several ways of dealing with stress. As a
result, I am familiar with some of the techniques mentioned in the textbook. For
example, exercising has always been an effective stress technique for me. As
mentioned in the textbook, performing exercises such as running and walking on a
regular basis has been an effective way for me to reduce stress. However, the
textbook has also introduced me to new techniques to helpmanage my stress, as well
as ways to improve techniques I already use. One of these new techniques is eating
healthy. Prior to reading the text, I never considered that my eating habits would
affect my stress levels. However, after reading through the text, I can definitely see
how my eating habits and stress levels affect each other. After evaluating my eating
habits, I noticed that I do not eat healthy when I am stressed. When I become
stressed or have an important event coming up, such having a test or a paper due, I
tend to skip meals like breakfast and lunch, and instead eat smaller snacks of foods
such as candy
Personal Culture And World View
It is a big undertaking to attempt to explain one s culture and world view in a few
words. My culture and world view began within the house I was raised. I come
from a white, middle class family, with a household of 5. My mom and dad both
worked very hard to maintain a middle class living status for their family, and made
many sacrifice. Values that were stressed in my household were loyalty, work
ethic, family bonds, and character. Religion did not play a big part in my
household growing up, and lack of religion, or self reliance was stressed more.
Both of my parents worked, however gender roles were pretty obvious in my
house. My mother not only worked, but also took care of many of the household
chores, while my father handled lawn work, mechanical tasks, etc. The biggest
world view that sticks out for me that I learned growing up is that if you work hard
enough, you can achieve anything. However, you have to work for it there are no
hand outs. In writing this, I can think back to many times where racial, or racist,
statements were made in my house. It can be hard to talk about, and I cannot
provide justification for many of the comments. Our home was about 10 blocks
from public housing. I can recall driving past, and many times, my dad pointing out
the fact that those people didn t have to work for anything. He would often say,
look, we are paying for their houses with our tax money, and they drive better cars
and wear better clothes then we do. This had a

Avoidable Mistakes For Successful App Marketing
Developing and releasing a mobile application is a very tricky task. When you
finally release the application, there is so much to celebrate. However, at this
moment, you have more work to be done. To release the full potential of your
amazing idea, you have to bring your new app to the users by successfully marketing
your app.
When a mobile app development company distributes their applications via traditional
stores, they have a lot of competition to deal with. Most app development companies,
therefore, have difficulties with marketing their applications successfully. In this

Failing to Do App Store Optimization
The two largest mobile app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play Store)
already have over 4.3 million applications. It is almost impossible that there won t
be at least an app in the stores that will be similar to your application. If you want
people to see and download your application rather than installing the app of your
competitors, there is no alternative to App Store Optimization. As the number of
your downloads is strongly impacted by ranking in search results, your main aim
should be to increase the ability for your app to be found in app stores. Therefore,
the higher your ranking in search results, the higher the chance that users will
download your application. Despite how time consuming App Store Optimization
(ASO) can be, it should be a vital part of your mobile app marketing as a mobile app
development company. By continually using your app meta data such as keywords,
description, and app title, you can increase your keywords ranking without spending
money.
Useful Tips
To get the best out of queries of organic search in app stores, below are some very
useful tips.
Use an App Publishing Tool and App Store Optimization that will help you optimize
the appearance of your app in app stores more efficiently.
Always adopt assets and texts on the page of your app to appeal users and increase

Culture, Institutions and International Strategy
Culture, Institutions and International Strategy.
For those firms who want to expand their business internationally, it is inevitable for
them to face the cultural challenge. This article stresses the impact of culture on
international operation as well. According to institutional based view, informal and
formal institutions have their own way to reduce risk. For informal ones, they rely on
relational contact which is informal relationship based and personalized exchange.
What is more, Human capital and Relationship capital are important factors to

It obviously promotes specialization within specific region which firm can fully
utilize the human capital and other related resources such as regional pool of
specialized suppliers. What s more, firm can gain better understanding of cultures and
institutional environments. However, closely located competitors might seize the
important resources such as talented employee and, also, imitate its technology and
knowledge. Also, in this fast changing business world, responding faster should be
more appropriate. The firms that pursue agglomeration always take slower action
than other do since they focus their resources on specific region and it is difficult for
them to move or to exploit emerging market.
Future Research and Conclusion
For future research, an issue that interested me is the increasing of cultural
convergence. Can MNCs leverage resources and standardize organizational practices
across cultural boundaries? In my opinion, it is possible but really difficult to
achieve even the world is becoming more global since there is no truly 100%
globalization. Globalization does not mean that every country will become the same
but it makes people realize the differences between them when they move out of their
shells. When a firm goes abroad different strategy will be used differently on each
country so there is no universal strategy or standardize organizational practices.

Bruno Bettelheim s Fairy Tale Insight Essay
The birth of fairy tales is many times unknown, but their reputations have always
remained the same. These tales not only attract children with their wondrous lands
and magical charm, but they captivate the child by involving relatable characters with
recognizable problems. While these stories provide mind churning imagination, the
lesson they provide does not cease to exist when the book is closed.
Bruno Bettelheim, the author of Uses of Enchantment, has constructed an evaluation
that fairy tale s offer insight to the child s psychological life. He believes such
literature depicts underline meaning to ways in which the child develops and deals
with real life conflicts. Undertaking such a strong controversial topic for the first time,
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this statement s broadness, it remains true for the sole fact that children do
not have much comprehensible knowledge of most subjects at an adolescent age.
Bettelheim implies his words though, as if children have understanding of many
things, but fairy tales being the most intelligible to them. Bettelheim also makes
unexplainable assumptions about the psyche of a child. He compares their mind
more to the developed adult who knows how to cope with struggles of society
rather than viewing the child as the undeveloped innocent mind that it is. Fairy tales
are harmless to a child while it may regress an adult. Bettelheim fails to recognize
the gap of minds (95). He also falls short of realizing that even though he is trying to
defend the child and the way their mind works, Bettelheim still thinks and reacts like
an adult and cannot place himself in the child s thinking position but only observe
them.
Another aid in the justification that children may not always find an emphasized
meaning to a fairy tale is the idea that children begin in a largely animistic world
and only slowly learn the art of abstract thinking (95). The fact that the books offer
more than just a beginning, middle, and end solution to a story for children has been
disregarded. Rarely are children attentive to the story itself, but more intrigued with
the illustrations and voice of the story teller. Books are generally read to children
before bedtime to calm them and offer a time to
How Did Duke Williams Win The Battle Of Hastings
Duke Williams: The Winner of The Battle of Hastings
What if the Candidates for the president of the U.S. had to fight in a battle to see
who would win the election. As crazy as it sounds, this is how Duke Williams
became King of England in 1066. In January of 1066 the death of King Edward the
Confessor was the beginning of the Battle of Hastings. When King Edward died, he
had no children to inherit the throne. The legend says that before his death, King
Edward sat up and pointed to Harold Godwinson who was across the room ( Hastings
). Shortly after he died, Harold became the King of England. There were three other
people who fought to be heir to the throne. Harold defeated two of them fairly
quickly. He had hoped he could also defeat the third opponent, Duke Williams, but
this was not the case. On October 14, 1066 the Battle between Harold and Duke
Williams, later to be known as the Battle of Hastings, began. Duke Williams was
the leader of the Norman army and led his troops to victory at the Battle of Hastings
because of his great plan of attack ( The Battle of Hastings ).

The Voodoo Of Voodoo Dolls
It is easy to look back at history and see a clear pattern and relation between
different cultures, objects, rituals, etc. When you take a deeper look into origins,
you ll often be surprised by what you find. Minkondi (plural for nkondi), are
sculptures made and used in the 19th century by African cultures. They served a
very specific purpose and had a very sacred importance. The Nkisi Nkondi
functioned as a hunter healer of conflicts. The people would take their worries,
requests and fears to the figure to call on the spirits. Voodoo dollson the other hand,
are often misunderstood and misrepresented. The Voodoo dollis a ritualized way of
calling on spirits to target a specific person. The dollcan be used a number of things
including luck, power, love and most commonly recognized, for evil and harm.
The Nkisi Nkondi sculptures and Voodoo dolls, even though they are from
different cultures and time periods, have a number of similarities and one may
have influenced the creation of the other. Nkisi refers to the spiritual being of the
figure, and nkondi comes from the word konda, which means to hunt, refers to the
figure itself. Minkondi, representative of hunters, can catch those who undermine
the frame of society. The Nkisi Nkondi is typically shaped in a human form. There
are few Nkisi Nkondi that are shaped like dogs, which were seen as sacred animals.
The Nkisi Nkondi weren t literal representations of the spirits that they called on. The

Do I dare disturb the universe? This was the message posted inside Jerry s locker
in the Novel The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. Like Jerry, many others have
disturbed the universe. Disturbing the universe can occur in many forms as well.
Adolf Hitler, like Jerry, is a prime example of someone who disturbed the universe.
Both Jerry Renault and Adolf Hitler are guilty of disturbing the universe through
revolting, never giving up, and not going down without a fight. Both of these figures
influenced their respective universes in a strong way. Both Jerry and Hitler revolted

America. He uses these devices to show Americans of the unification America needs.

The Importance Of Childhood
Childhood is best defined as a transitional period when a child learns the social and
behavioral aspects of life as well as his or her own beliefs. As stated in Journal of
Marriage and Family, the relationship between adults and children is arguably the
most impactful aspect of childhood. The way in which a parent raises their childwill
affect the type of person they become in the future. Learningto be a sociable person
will help children one make friends and partnerships in the future. Having good
behaviorwill help maintain these relationships, and being confident and
knowledgeable about your own beliefs will make you a respectable person. The best
way for children to familiarize themselves with these traits is through lessons,... Show

Children with encouraging parents have a far better chance of developing better
characteristics for the future. If a parent encourages a child to participate in a group
activity that already interests them, they are more than likely going to want to do it
even more. It is up to parents to give a child the opportunity to find something to
partake in. Ultimately, it is not what the child pursues that should matter to a parent,
it is the way they use it to make them a better person now and for the future.
Once a person has the ability to interact and create relationships with others, it is
important to learn behaviors that will help maintain these relationships. Being
able to start a conversation is helpful, but learning to respect others will make you
a far more appealing person. The way a child is brought up directly affects how
they behave when they are older. The reason that some children have difficulty in
showing pleasant behaviors is the fact that most parents use force to make the
child act some way. This is bad for the child because it teaches obedience, which is
not a valuable trait. If a child can enjoy the process of learning along with support
from parents, they are in far better shape to understand and develop proper behavior.
The Journal of Marriage and Family also suggests a theory that explains that the
value of an activity is determined in part by the extent to which people
The Composition and Rhetoric Field Essay
Composition and Rhetoric (a.k.a. Writing Studies): A Flexible Field
In his essay, Teach Writing as a Process not a Product, Donald Murray outlines the
major difference between the traditional pedagogy that directed the teaching of
writing in the past and his newly hailed model. Traditionally, Murray explains,
English teachers were taught to teach and evaluate students writing as if it was a
finished product of literature when, as he has discovered, students learn better if
they re taught that writing is a process. For Murray, once teachers regard writing as
a process, a student centered, or writer centered, curriculum falls into place. Rules for
writing fall by the way side as writers work at their own pace to see what works best

The prohibition of any methods of inquiry is not productive when examining an all
encompassing topic such as discourse in culture.
In Susan Miller s historical analysis of Composition and Rhetoric, she explains how
English studies emphasizing the study of great works of literature became the
pedagogy of choice within the academy, and how this choice marginalized the
teaching of writing, rhetoric, to the mere teaching of style. In a traditional version of
textual history, Miller explains, people characterized as authors are almost always
imagined in control of language. Miller argues that in order to maintain their status as
culture makers, the partriarchical power mongers who designed the first writing
programs, defined writers as those who wrote great works of literature. Miller is also
critical of those scholars of rhetoric who continue to lament and/or deny that classical
rhetoric lost its influence over writing instruction during its initial establishment in
America. Although it s theoretically unfortunate that rhetoric lost its status for several
centuries within the pedagogical practices of writing instruction, Miller argues that
classical rhetoric no longer fit with the needs of a democratic society. Its demise was
inevitable.
This historical framework mapped out by Miller fits with Murray s complaint about
English teachers who were taught to regard a student s writing as a product. If a
writer is defined merely as a creator of great
Difference Between Digestive System And Digestive System
What the digestive system does
The digestive system is when the body does to break down food. Firstly, it enters
the mouth and is broken down by the teeth of the animal and saliva. Then it travels
along the oesophagus to the stomach. Then in the stomach for further breaking
down, it is broken down by hydrochloric acid and enzymes. The acid breaks down
bacteria and the food material into smaller molecules. Once this is complete it then
moves onto the small intestine. Enzymes are secreted from the pancreas into here
and bile from the liver which emulsifies fats. Nutrients from the food are absorbed
into the bloodstream. Then it moves onto the large intestines where water is
absorbed to produce faeces waste. Then it is moved to the rectum to be released
from the anus. This is the basic digestive process of a monogastric animal, other
animals are more complex and different processes happen.
Comparing ruminants and non ruminants
A ruminant is an animal such as a cow which is a foregut fermenter and has four
chambers for their digestion. They also regurgitate their food unlike non ruminants.
Ruminants chew their food briefly before swallowing it first time. The first part of
their digestion is the rumen which has specialised bacteria to digest cellulose. They
then regurgitate and re chew the food, it is called cud and the cud returns to the
rumen. They chew this cud for 6 8 hours per day whilst resting. This is an advantage
compared to the horse because it means that the fibre is
Persuasive Essay On Gun Safety
Gun safety is like a baby, it grows with each person not knowing much when they
come into the gun world. When people enter into the gun ownership world it is a
world completely different then what they are used to. To get to the point of safe
gun safety they have to go though some training to get approved to carry a firearm.
Once some people get to the level where they have learned a little they get a big
head and turn into a know it all. Some will say people act like teenagers thinking
they know everything and won t listen to anyone. This is where the troubles start to
set in for the guncommunity. The worst thing you can have is people acting like
they know what they are doing but really don t. People like this can put lives in
danger. America has the largest number of gun owners in the world (cnn) and with
this many owners poor handling is almost certain. In 2010, slightly more than one out
of five Americans reported personally owning a gun ( porquest). With the number on
gun owners on the rise it seems as if the number of accidental shootings have also
increased due to the lack of training and humbleness around firearms. This number is
a large factor in a push for larger steps in training for gun owners. Having most of
the media against guns they can use these numbers to make the gun world look even
worst then they already do. With all the bad light on the gun world the best thing
people within can do is make sure they follow all safety steps. The number of gun
Differences Of Religion In The Western And Western
Religions
Religion is an important aspect of the lives of many people throughout the world.
While there are many different religions throughout the world that all have different
beliefs, people tend to only accept one religion as the ultimate truth and reject all
others. This ideology sometimes can be so strong as to cause war between countries
throughout the world as well as throughout history. There is also a popular opinion in
western countries, including the United States, that western religions are better than
eastern religions, where eastern religions are often viewed as archaic and
undeveloped. This opinion, however, is incorrect and often stems from the major
differences between the two different types of religionthat people are often not aware
of. Eastern Religions differ from Western Religions in that they have different
ideology as well as a different set of customs and values. Eastern Religions often
have cosmic origins. In Eastern Religions, there is a large emphasis on growing
yourself so that you can become a more aware spiritual person, and this required to
reach salvation. This is because Eastern Religions view the cause of man s plight is
from the soul s immaturity. In order to accomplish this spiritual evolvement, one
must also follow a strict set of rules throughout their life that involves respecting
others and living a virtuous and moral life. Even the idea of salvation in Eastern
Religions is very different from that of Western Religions, being that salvation
Essay about Andre Dubus The Curse
Andre Dubus The Curse
The Curse ; by Andre Dubus is about Mitchell Hayes, a forty nine year old
bartender who is witness to a rape. The rape occurs right before closing when five
bikers rape a young woman while holding Mitchell at bay. After the rape, Mitchell
is distraught over his decision of not making a stronger attempt to help the girl.
Police, family and friends try to comfort Mitchell by telling him he made the right
decision. However, he continues to feel guilt and self doubt over whether or not he
could have done more in order to prevent the rape from occurring.
The central idea is that man is responsible for defining his own sense of honor. A

A secondary character is Joyce. She is flat and static. She is flat because she is a
minor character and lacks complexity. She is static because her character does not
change during the course of the story.
Dubus uses two methods of indirect characterization in describing Joyce; he uses
words and actions. An example of her words comes when she is trying to comfort
Mitchell: You ll be a good witness. ; An example of her actions comes after Mitchell
has told her of the tragedy, ?she kneeled beside him and massaged his shoulders and
rubbed his temples and pressed her hands on his forehead. ;
The central conflict in the story is an internal one. Mitchell has a conflict between his
inaction versus his definition of honor. The conflict represents his struggle
concerning the guilt he feels over not attempting to stop the rape, even though his
friends and family assure him that he made the right decision. The conflict is
unresolved.
The point of view of The Curse ; is limited omniscient. An example of this comes
when Mitchell thinks to himself: ?he wanted from
Living With Hearing Loss
Hearing Disorders and Living with Hearing Loss Hearing loss affects twenty
percent of Americans in the world today and is the third most common medical
problem in the United States. It does not play favorites for any age, color, or
gender. Hearing loss can occur at any age, from birth due to toxic conditions or
heredity, in childhood because of diseases, from accidents or noise damage and age
related. With today s technology diagnosing and treating hearing loss has made
huge improvements in the past few decades. Recognizing symptoms and seeking
early diagnosis is the key to finding the treatment that is right for the individual with
hearing loss. Some of the leading causes of hearing loss in adults are twenty eight
percent aging and twenty three percent noises. In research discovered in the book

New inventions of hearing devices have made the quality of life better for those
with a hearing impairment. Hearing aids are one of these treatments. Hearing aids
will provide the ability to hear high pitched sounds, and they may help function in
social situations, but soft sounds will still be very difficult to hear. Hearing aids
will help with hearing, but there will still be some hearing loss. A hearing aid will
not help with lost hair cells, so a cochlear implant may be used. A cochlear implant
is surgically implanted. Not everyone qualifies for cochlear implants. Some of the
requirements are being severely to profoundly deaf, experience no significant
benefit from hearing aids, and be at least two years of age. Other minor devices to
help with hearing loss are visual alarms, vibrator alarms, and phone ring alternatives.
Even with these devices dizziness and problems with balance may still be
Violance in Schools Causes Deviant Behavior
Violence among our youth has spread widely throughout the nation. This can be
linked to several problems in our society, but mainly one. The constant barrage of
television and media violence causes deviant behavior in children. When children are
young they are very impressionable by the things around them. Often kids are
influenced by what they see. If kids are watching shows or being introduced to
violent acts they too will tend to act out this violence(Huesmann and Eron, 1986).
The results of studies on the effects of televised violence are consistent. By watching
aggression, children learn how to be aggressive in new ways and they also draw
conclusions about whether being aggressive to others will bring them rewards

Today the data linking violence in the media to violence in society is superior to that
linking cancer and tobacco. The American Psychological Association (APA), the
American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP),
the Surgeon General, and the Attorney General have all concluded there is a problem
with media and T.V. violence.
Violence has become more and more prevalent in today s society. We see it in the
streets, back alleys, schools, and even at home. Homes, in particular, are a major
source of violence. A televisionset has become common to the living room of most
family homes. This outlet for violence often goes unnoticed. Children who view
television are often pulled into the realistic, yet a devastating world of violence.
Much research has gone into showing why children are so mesmerized by this big
glowing box and the action that takes place within it. Research shows that it is
definitely a major source of violent behavior in children (Howe 55). The research
proves time and time again that aggression and television viewing do go hand in
hand. The truth about television violence and children has been shown.
Some are trying to fight this problem. There are numerous advocate groups lobbing
for television and media sensor ship. The National Cable Association is one industry
groups studying the trends violent of shows on television

Time Is Precious
Friends, today I am going to speak on a subject that affects us all, every day, every
hour, every minute and every second. Yes...the subject is Time.
Time is the most precious thing for a man as it comes only once in someone s life
and never stays long. Our life is like a bubble, a short morning dream. Therefore, we
should take good care and make the best use of it. In other words, we must
understand the value of time. Time management is basically planning and dividing
one s time in a constructive way.
We all have a number of activities that have to be taken care of in a particular period
of time. So we should be able to plan our activities in such a way that we are able to
complete all the work in a given span of time. A great... Show more content on

But those who forgot the value of time found to their utter dismay that it was harsh on
them later.
In other words, successful persons use time in the best possible manner to achieve
their goals. Most of us waste our precious time in unnecessary things such as
gossip, roaming aimlessly, grieving over the past blunders or day dreaming. It must
always be kept in mind that, Time and tide wait for none . Time can be spent wisely
or foolishly. The choice is ours and so are its consequences.
Life is not a bed of roses. Each one of us has to face a number of problems in life.
We have to be bold and courageous enough to face them. Problems are faced by
men of courage only. Escapists always avoid problems. Bad times teach us a lot.
They prepare us for a prosperous and glorious future. When difficult times arrive,
they prepare us for a better life. We will then be able to handle problems with more
maturity, stability and courage.
Basically, time and opportunity once lost can never be recovered. The flow of
time is ceaseless and eternal and we all are like small insignificant particles in this
endless and continuous flow. Time is eternal and endless but human life is very
limited, finite and short lived. Hence, successful people make the best use of time in
their lives. A work done is time earned. A decision taken at an appropriate moment
can work wonders so we must all learn to strike the iron when it is hot.
We must make the best

Measures have already been implemented in intensive care units (ICU) in order to
ensure patient safety and there is now a maximum ratio of one nurse to two patients

surgical units due to serious complications. This means that a typical nurse on a med

they need. Should the ratio of nurses to patients on medical surgical units be

RE: Implementation and Reporting for Hedge Accounting
Facts:
Thomas Foods wishes to insulate the company from the financial blow of large
increases in the prices of produce from local farmers. The main factor that would
cause this unexpected change in price that Thomas Foods should be concerned with
is the possible fluctuation of weather conditions. Thomas Foods is interested in
determining whether or not hedge accounting would be the best solution to protect
the company s operating income. If the company elects to implement a hedge
accounting system, the Controller of the company must be informed of the
accounting treatments involved when dealing with cash flow and fair value hedge
accounting, the two most common forms of hedge accounting.
Issues:
1.Will implementing a hedging strategy help to alleviate the risks of price increases
and benefit Thomas Foods financially when it comes to purchasing produce from
local farmers?
2.Which hedge accounting strategy or alternative method will be most beneficial to
Thomas Foods and ensure minimal loss in operating income?
3.How can the accounting treatments of the newly implemented strategy be best

Conclusions:
1.Hedge accounting strategies are best implemented when dealing with transactions
from the original source. In this particular situation, the local farmer would be

Ever since, I wondered whether this impression was correct. The goal of this thesis
is to satisfy this curiosity and to determine, through textual and visual analyses, if the
1986 television series also carries a Confucian message, or whether it was solely
produced for entertainment purposes. This leads to the following research question:
How does the 1986 television series Journey to the West convey the novel s original
Confucian message, and what does this suggest for its production purposes?
I argue that authors and producers often attempt to impose their own set of cultural
and political ideologies on its audience through a certain depiction of right and
wrong. In this manner, works of fiction might influence, perhaps even alter, the
ideologies of the audience.[3] Accordingly, analyzing the depiction of ideologies in
media content can serve as a basis for further research on if and how producers intend
to influence their audience.
This particular case of Confucianism in the 1986 Journey to the West television series
is especially interesting, due to China s socio political setting of that time. The
influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on media content[4] combined
with its usage of Confucianism to secure its own right to rule[5] make the Journey to
the West television series the perfect medium to promote Confucianism to the masses.
The enormous popularity of Journey to the West

impersonal financial aid policies. The federal government?s current system has too
many quirks which end up hurting the people that financial aid is supposed to help.

The federal government does not use this application for aid. The CSS Profile is a
service provided by The College Board. It includes many more factors such as the age

need.
The current system does a fairly decent job of predicting the amount of aid needed
assuming both the parents and the student are paying for the student?s education. The
big problem with the system is that not all parents help pay for their child?s
education. According to the current system, the student would have to cover the
expected contribution from their parents as well as their own expected contribution
should their parents decide not to help foot the bill. For example, if a student from a
middle class family which is earning $70,000 a year. Assuming the student was
earning $3,000, and that student wanted to attend Duke University, approximately
$33,000 a year, the family would be expected to pay $13,641 of the bill for each
year2. If the parents choose not to help the student pay, then it would be the student?s
responsibility to pay every bit of the $13,641. How many students graduating high
school can afford that? I think that this factor could quite possibly be the biggest
reason that students think they cannot afford college.
Another problem is that the current system actually punishes students for saving their
How Did George Soros Become Successful
George Soros is one of an exclusive group of elite investors that includes Warren
Buffett, Carl Icahn, Peter Lynch, William J. O Neil, and Jack Bogle. He is a self
made billionaire with an estimated net worth of $24.9 billion, which ranks him as
the 15th wealthiest person in the U.S. and the 23rd wealthiest person in the world.
Soros overcame major obstacles during his teenage years to become one of the
most successful businessmen in the world, and he has been able to use his wealth
to fight for causes he believes in and influence U.S. politics. Soros was born in
Hungary to a middle class Jewish family in 1930. Because of the political climate at
the time, his parents did what they could to hide their Jewish roots and even
changed their family name from Schwartz to the native Hungarian name Soros. As a
young teenager, he would survive the Nazi occupation of his country in the early
1940s, then in 1947, he would flee the Communist domination of his country with his
family to England. Soon after arriving in England, Soros enrolled in the London
School of Economics and became heavily influenced by the teachings of philosopher
Karl Popper. Popper wrote a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then in 1956, he immigrated to New York and worked as an arbitrage trader for
F.M. Mayer. He also worked for Wertheim Co. as an analyst of European securities
and was a vice president at Arhnold and S. Bleichroeder before starting Soros Fund
Management, which was later named the Quantum Fund, in 1970. The Quantum
Fund became one of the most successful hedge funds in the history of the industry,
but Soros became more well known for breaking the Bank of England when he
short sold the pound which forced the UK Treasury to devalue their currency which
cost them 3.4 billion pounds. Soros made a profit of over $1 billion on this
Describe The Electrical Conduction System Of The Heart
1.Follow the circulation of blood through the heart, out to the body, and back to the
heart. Start at the inferior/superior vena cava. Include what kind of blood
(oxygenated/deoxygenated) is circulating. Use correct terminology and anatomical
terms. You may draw a diagram and use colored pencil/marker/crayon/pen to
illustrate.
Deoxygenate Blood enters the heart through two large veins, the inferior and superior
vena cava, emptying oxygen poor blood from the body into the right atrium of the
heart.
blood flows from your right atrium into your right ventricle through the open
tricuspid valve.
When the ventricle is full, the tricuspid valve shuts. This prevents blood from flowing
backward into the atria while the ventricle contracts.
As the ventricle contracts, blood leaves the heart through the pulmonic valve, into the
pulmonary artery and to the lungs where it is oxygenated blood then passes through
the aortic valve into the aorta to tissues and body organs.
2.Describe the electrical conduction system of the heart. Conduction system is a
group of specialized cardiac muscle cells in the walls of the heart that send signals to
the heart muscle causing it to contract.
3.State three reasons why a patient might need an electrocardiogram.
1.Detect myocardial ischemia, 2. Estimate damage in the heart 3. Detect and evaluate
the heart.
4.Identify the 12 leads of the ECG and describe which area of the heart each lead
represents. Bipolar leads

Markonius And Sonnetian Analysis
In the crowded, metropolitan cities of Coruscant, a brave Jedi couple, Markonius
and Sonnetia, bore a powerful child named Alexander. Alex unmistakably inherits
crystal, blue eyes from his dauntless father and blonde, wavy hair from his gentle
mother. Both of his parents are Jedi Knights, an organization that once guarded the
chaotic galaxy in the way of the force. In a perilous time when Jedi are being
savagely hunted by the wicked Galactic Empire, the family keeps an eye on each
other in order to survive. Markonius apprehensively ponders about the safety of his
family. Droids constantly scan every nook and cranny of the populous city to bring
forth suspects who secretly possess the forbidden knowledge of the force. Due to the

Many of the children are sons and daughters of deceased Jedi. Each is given a new
identity. Alexander is given a new name Morningstar. It symbolizes someone who is a
force to be known within the new world order. The youths easily master different
abilities, such as lightning, dueling, and even choking. The children no longer retain
their child like conscience they are killing machines of the Galactic Empire. Deep
down in the Morningstar s heart, he still clutches human feelings of friendship and
affection.
Over the years, Morningstar steadily falls in love with another pupil, Aayla. Many
students describe her as beautiful, smart, and a leader. Daily, Morningstar and Aayla
would loudly banter and happily spend time with each other during and after
training. Morningstar sees Aayla as more than a friend and realizes that she is before
any else . Darth Vadernotices this situation and uses her against him. He boldly
announces to Morningstar to kill Aayla in order to prove his loyalty and pass his
final test as a Sith apprentice. Darth Vader invincibly tempts Morningstar with fame,

Shawshank Redemption Corrections
The 1994 film, The Shawshank Redemption, directed by Frank Darabont, presents a
complex and brutal prison environment for both its guards and inmates. Andy
Dufresne, an inmate who is wrongly convicted of murder, is faced with several facets
of the grim and isolated nature of Shawshank penitentiary. Throughout the film,
several correctional concepts are illustrated that present inimitable challenges for both
Dufresne as well as other inmates in the prison. The major correctional concepts that
shaped the inmates prison experiences include: prison economy, prisonization and
institutionalization, adaptive roles, and prison violence. Together, these concepts
provide the multifaceted foundation of the prison environment in the film as well as
depict current correctional concepts that are present in America s prisons. The prison
economy plays an important role for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adaptive role is described as how inmates become accustomed to prison (283).
The four fundamental roles that an inmate can embrace include: doing time,
gleaning, jailing, or becoming a disorganized criminal. (283) Upon arriving to
Shawshank, Tommy Williams learns that Dufresne had been helping other inmates
to pass their General Educational Development tests. He convinces Dufresne that
he is committed to studying for the tests and ultimately passes with a C+ average.
Williams took advantage of the educational resources that were available to him in
hopes of bettering his situation once he was released. By doing so, he had been
gleaning. (283) In addition to adaptive roles, the film also portrays many instances
and forms of prison violence. Prisons provide all of the necessary conditions to host
violence (288). The film depicts instances of prisoner prisoner violence in the form
of sexual victimization, prison gangs, and illicit violence by officers against
Descriptive Essay On My Pet Dog
My Pet Lola My pet dog, Lola is a very interesting dog. We really don t know much
about her, but we still love her and take care of her. Our Lola is a rescued dog from
the Romney Sport s Park. An old couple found her under a car while my class was
at the park because it was the last week of school, and we went for all the things we
have done in that grade. My mom came with us to watch and supervise, when she
found her on a leash by an old man. My mom wanted to know if we could keep her if
we came by later and he agreed that we could take her. It was that day on June 2,
2015 when we accepted her into the family! She has been a great addition to the
family. The veterinarian told us that she was about 2 to 3 years old at the time. Lola
Lu is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cool thing about her is that she is a schnauzer without the cut and average
schnauzer. Her legs are longer than the average schnauzer. They measure an exact
1 foot at the inch. We all found out not too long ago that she likes to cuddle and
hug you in the person who is holding her. She will not mind, but she does not like it
when you shut her mouth. Lola will squirm and will want to leave you at that
exact instant. A couple tricks we taught her are to sit and to go to her room when it
is bedtime or when we have to leave the house. She is still not trained to go pee on
a piddle pad, but that is a problem with all of our dogs, just as it is with pooing on
the piddle pad. Lola loves to play with people, but she really loves to play with our
1 year old French bulldog Oliver. The 2 of them will chase each other around the
house playing with each other for hours. When they get tired, they like to sleep in a
pouf together and will lay there for more hours than they ran around. Then it will just

Tesla Motors, An American Company Tesla Motors Incorporated, an American company that designs, produces, and sells electric vehicles and their electric components, has become one of the fastest growing car companies in recent history. The company s main goal was to start creating electric vehicles that were accessible and affordable to the public. Founded in 2003 and taking off successfully by 2009, Tesla Motors started selling the first mass produced vehicle to use lithium ion battery cells and hold a range of greater than 200 miles on just one charge. Along with building their own electric vehicle models, Tesla also builds electric powertrain components for vehicles from other automakers including cars such as the Toyota RAV4 electric vehicle. Tesla has begun to maximize... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wong goes on to say that the Roadster doesn t have a reverse gear either, but instead runs the motor in the opposite direction to reverse. Because of this, the Roadster is one of the only high performance vehicles that runs as fast in reverse as it does in drive. On top of such a unique innovation, the motor is also efficiently used for regenerative braking. Wong mentions that drivers can charge the ESS with just 220 V, using Tesla s incredibly fast onboard charger. A full recharge takes 3.5 hours. When it comes down to it, completely electric vehicles have been around for a while, but they have never had as much commercial success as energy efficient vehicles that use fossil fuels. Ethanol, hydrogen, coal, and oil are all not as energy efficient as the lithium ion run electric vehicles are and can be. The ESS Tesla has created has raised the bar for the efficiency of electric vehicles and knocked down virtually all other sources for vehicle power. If we could look at Tesla s vehicle models and other electric vehicle models stripped down, with everything removed but the frame, wheels, and electrical propulsion system, we would see just how far Tesla has come in their design of the electric vehicle and how they have surpassed other car companies with their innovation. • 3. Taking a Look at Solanine solanine It is a glycoalkaloid. It is a poison. It is present in the nightshade family i.e Solanaceae especially in species tomato and potato. Solanine is found naturally in many parts of plants e.g tubers, leaves and fruits. It also has pesticidal and fungicidal characteristics. It also act as a natural defence system of plant. Firstly it was extracted in 1820 from a berry i.e Solanum nigram. Solanine poisoning and it s symptoms primary symptoms of solanine poisoning are neurological and gastrointestinal disorders. Other symptoms may be vomiting, burning of throat, nausea, cardiac dysrythmia, diarrhea, nightmare, dizziness, stomach cramps and a common symptom headache. Hypothermia, fever, dilated pupils, hallucination, paralysis and losss of sensation occur in very severe cases and somtimes death can also accur. Way of action A result of a study show that the mechanism of solanine toxicity is mainly due to it s chemical interaction with the membranes of mitochondria. It is shown by experiments that when solanine is exposed, it result in opening of pottassium channels of mitochondrial membrane, in it s result the membrane potential is decreased and then Ca 2+ are transported from mitochondria to the cytoplasm due to which concentration of Ca 2+ is increased in the cytoplasm which result in the apoptosis i.e cell death and cell damage. These men all died nearly a decade before the civil war began, but they didn t know how much they would effect it. States rights was a very controversial issue, and one which had strong opposition and radical proposals coming from both sides. John C. Calhounwas in favor of giving states the power to nullify laws that they saw unconstitutional, and he presented this theory in his Doctrine of Nullification . Daniel Websterstrongly disagreed with this proposal and showed this by giving powerful support to President Jacksonin resisting the attempt by South Carolina to nullify the tariff of abominations , as they called... Calhoun was, perhaps, best remembered for his part in inspiring the South s effort to achieve national independence in the Civil War, even though it took place nearly twelve years after his death. Daniel Webster was one of the best orators in the United States during his time and, perhaps, ever. While arguing that the Constitution had created a single, unified nation he put up strong opposition to nullification. When Webster spoke on the senate floor, he left everyone in awe. He was a magnificent lawyer and a convincing speaker. Daniel Webster was probably best remembered for his role in the short story The Devil and Daniel Webster . Henry Clay was, perhaps, the greatest compromiser of all time, authoring such documents as the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, and the 1833 compromise bill that gradually lowered the tariff which the South had been so angry about. His view on states rights was that they should work with the federal government to come to come to a compromise on the issue. Henry Clay was best remembered for his support of the Compromise of 1850. These three men were very different in a time of more partisanship and anger that today. I believe that

John Kotter Failure Large scale change is not a simple matter, the complexity and many moving parts can be distilled down into a couple models, however pulling off a successful transformation is extremely challenging. Unfortunately, the odds are not good for change. Research by John Kotter revealed that only thirty percent of change programs succeed. The main reasons for the failures are not related to resources or budgets, but behavior and more specifically, employee resistance and managementbehaviors that do not support the intended changes. These are the two leading causes that result in seventy percent of failures. Kotter first reported on this dismal success rate back in 1995, and quite honestly, there has been little progress at advancing the success of

Once the genetic information is part of the individual s medical record, it may then be accessed by others. Cases of employers having used genetic information as part of the selection process have been found in Australia. Genetic discrimination has even been detected in the armed forces where a young man was asked to provide documentation that showed he was not predisposed to Marfan syndrome, of which he had a family history. If the genetic information is only accessible to the individual then there is a decreased chance of such discrimination occurring because the information is disclosed to who the individual wishes to. Genetic information can raise questions about personal responsibility, personal choice versus genetic determinism, and concepts of health and disease. Personal factors, family values, and community and cultural beliefs can mould the reactions to these issues. For example the response to the genetic information and suggestion from physicians after the test will be drastically different in a society where traditions and religion determine life choices, such as India, than to a more individually liberal society like the USA. Even in a progressive society that has had specific ethnic groups for multiple generations disparities with medical technology are common. A study conducted, using the national representative data, in the USA with the sample that consisted of 1724 men and women of non Hispanic whites, Latinos, and African American background. Results exposed significant differences by racial/ethnic groups in knowledge and concerns about the potential misuse of genetic testing. Significantly higher levels of mistrust in a physician and the medical system was a common thread within minorities. The genetic tests can be a way of ridding anxiety attached to the assumed inheritance of genetic disease due to family background whilst for others the genetic test reveals their reality. The results can have a great deal of a psychological impact upon the individual. The possibility of developing a genetic disease alone can create anxiety within some. The psychological impact from the results revealed is another issue that society is concerned about. A
  • 7. The Presidential Model Of The United States From the materials we covered in classes I believe that a parliamentary system, as opposed to the presidential model of the United States might solve problem of having a low approval of the government. In the US we have the presidential model. The presidential model has single head of state that is the face of the country, plays a very small role in day to governing of the country and head of government who actually runs the government, executive that is responsible for day to day governing of a particular society. In the case of United States, President Barack Obama holds both positions. If we were to compare this to the United Kingdom, the head of stateis the queen, she is the face of the country, doesn t really run the government. While David Cameron, the prime minster is the head of the government, he is the one in charge of actually running the government. The head of government is different from the head of state unlike the United States. In the presidential model there is a single executive with real decision making powers and can only be removed under extreme circumstances. It also has Separate elections and separate survival. Doesn t matter how poorly or how well the president s party does in legislative election doesn t affect his election or survival. It will not affect the presidents time in office because they are separately elected and their survivals aren t linked. But in parliamentary systemit does matter, if you lose the support of your party, you are

These myths and legends are so powerful that they still make ideal material for Hollywood studios, directors, and authors alike. Although, these stories have gone through countless adaptions, gender stereotypes are still present. The depiction of men, both mortal and immortal, in these myths and legends are of heroes, warriors, demigods, powerful gods, and fantastical creatures from the reader s dreams or nightmares. In contrast, the role of women in these myths and legends are presented as either; the troublemaker, who is driven purely by their envy and spite of other women or men who are a threat to their ego; the seductress, who draws men in using their sexuality... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The emotionally driven possesses great qualities of strength and wisdom, however their behaviour can be unpredictable, if challenged or threatened, and can lash out impulsively. This stereotype relates to the goddess of wisdom, Athena, although depicted as intelligent, often punishes mortals who are a threat to her own skill. Arachne, a mortal girl who possessed great skill in the art of weaving, challenged the goddess, Let Athena try her skill with mine. Athena heard her call, yet did not smite her where she stood, instead she disguised herself and stated, I advise you to ask her forgiveness for what you have said, and as she is merciful perhaps she will pardon you. When Arachne refused, she showed her full form, and accepted her contest. After making their individual tapestries, Athena supposedly admitted defeat, tore her opponent s work to shreds and forced Arachne to feel so much remorse and guilt for her actions, leading her to kill herself. Athena then cursed her, and turned her into the first spider, and doomed Arachne to reflect on the competition for eternity. This reinforces the idea that when women have traits commonly belonging to men, they fall victim to their own emotions, thus not deeming them worthy. Another myth to reinforce this is Athena s invention of the flute. When she begins to play her instrument, she gets teased by her fellow goddesses, and

In top down techniques, clusters are synthesized from larger nanoparticles or bulk metal. Etching of nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down techniques can be used for the synthesis of metal clusters. Removing the surface atoms or break the metal nanoparticles into smaller clusters by using the etching capacity of such ligands will lead to synthesize stable quantum clusters. For example, Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold nanoparticles with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters either with 8 or 25 gold atoms [16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating polymers can also be used to etch preformed colloidal gold nanocrystals producing highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that small noble metal nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol reduction with NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22]. Organoselenium compounds are of considerable interest due to their wide efficiency and applicability with numerous therapeutic applications [23]. In addition, the presence of a heterocyclic ring in these compounds upgrades their properties to a great

Therefore, stress is a big obstacle in my life, and it is something that I need to find a way to deal with, especially now that I have begun to attend college. Because I have dealt with anxiety before, I have a good idea of my stress level. My stress levels can become very high, and as a result, I have several ways of dealing with stress. As a result, I am familiar with some of the techniques mentioned in the textbook. For example, exercising has always been an effective stress technique for me. As mentioned in the textbook, performing exercises such as running and walking on a regular basis has been an effective way for me to reduce stress. However, the textbook has also introduced me to new techniques to helpmanage my stress, as well as ways to improve techniques I already use. One of these new techniques is eating healthy. Prior to reading the text, I never considered that my eating habits would affect my stress levels. However, after reading through the text, I can definitely see how my eating habits and stress levels affect each other. After evaluating my eating habits, I noticed that I do not eat healthy when I am stressed. When I become stressed or have an important event coming up, such having a test or a paper due, I tend to skip meals like breakfast and lunch, and instead eat smaller snacks of foods such as candy
  • 12. Personal Culture And World View It is a big undertaking to attempt to explain one s culture and world view in a few words. My culture and world view began within the house I was raised. I come from a white, middle class family, with a household of 5. My mom and dad both worked very hard to maintain a middle class living status for their family, and made many sacrifice. Values that were stressed in my household were loyalty, work ethic, family bonds, and character. Religion did not play a big part in my household growing up, and lack of religion, or self reliance was stressed more. Both of my parents worked, however gender roles were pretty obvious in my house. My mother not only worked, but also took care of many of the household chores, while my father handled lawn work, mechanical tasks, etc. The biggest world view that sticks out for me that I learned growing up is that if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything. However, you have to work for it there are no hand outs. In writing this, I can think back to many times where racial, or racist, statements were made in my house. It can be hard to talk about, and I cannot provide justification for many of the comments. Our home was about 10 blocks from public housing. I can recall driving past, and many times, my dad pointing out the fact that those people didn t have to work for anything. He would often say, look, we are paying for their houses with our tax money, and they drive better cars and wear better clothes then we do. This had a

Bettelheim implies his words though, as if children have understanding of many things, but fairy tales being the most intelligible to them. Bettelheim also makes unexplainable assumptions about the psyche of a child. He compares their mind more to the developed adult who knows how to cope with struggles of society rather than viewing the child as the undeveloped innocent mind that it is. Fairy tales are harmless to a child while it may regress an adult. Bettelheim fails to recognize the gap of minds (95). He also falls short of realizing that even though he is trying to defend the child and the way their mind works, Bettelheim still thinks and reacts like an adult and cannot place himself in the child s thinking position but only observe them. Another aid in the justification that children may not always find an emphasized meaning to a fairy tale is the idea that children begin in a largely animistic world and only slowly learn the art of abstract thinking (95). The fact that the books offer more than just a beginning, middle, and end solution to a story for children has been disregarded. Rarely are children attentive to the story itself, but more intrigued with the illustrations and voice of the story teller. Books are generally read to children before bedtime to calm them and offer a time to

Ultimately, it is not what the child pursues that should matter to a parent, it is the way they use it to make them a better person now and for the future. Once a person has the ability to interact and create relationships with others, it is important to learn behaviors that will help maintain these relationships. Being able to start a conversation is helpful, but learning to respect others will make you a far more appealing person. The way a child is brought up directly affects how they behave when they are older. The reason that some children have difficulty in showing pleasant behaviors is the fact that most parents use force to make the child act some way. This is bad for the child because it teaches obedience, which is not a valuable trait. If a child can enjoy the process of learning along with support from parents, they are in far better shape to understand and develop proper behavior. The Journal of Marriage and Family also suggests a theory that explains that the value of an activity is determined in part by the extent to which people
  • 21. The Composition and Rhetoric Field Essay Composition and Rhetoric (a.k.a. Writing Studies): A Flexible Field In his essay, Teach Writing as a Process not a Product, Donald Murray outlines the major difference between the traditional pedagogy that directed the teaching of writing in the past and his newly hailed model. Traditionally, Murray explains, English teachers were taught to teach and evaluate students writing as if it was a finished product of literature when, as he has discovered, students learn better if they re taught that writing is a process. For Murray, once teachers regard writing as a process, a student centered, or writer centered, curriculum falls into place. Rules for writing fall by the way side as writers work at their own pace to see what works best for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The prohibition of any methods of inquiry is not productive when examining an all encompassing topic such as discourse in culture. In Susan Miller s historical analysis of Composition and Rhetoric, she explains how English studies emphasizing the study of great works of literature became the pedagogy of choice within the academy, and how this choice marginalized the teaching of writing, rhetoric, to the mere teaching of style. In a traditional version of textual history, Miller explains, people characterized as authors are almost always imagined in control of language. Miller argues that in order to maintain their status as culture makers, the partriarchical power mongers who designed the first writing programs, defined writers as those who wrote great works of literature. Miller is also critical of those scholars of rhetoric who continue to lament and/or deny that classical rhetoric lost its influence over writing instruction during its initial establishment in America. Although it s theoretically unfortunate that rhetoric lost its status for several centuries within the pedagogical practices of writing instruction, Miller argues that classical rhetoric no longer fit with the needs of a democratic society. Its demise was inevitable. This historical framework mapped out by Miller fits with Murray s complaint about English teachers who were taught to regard a student s writing as a product. If a writer is defined merely as a creator of great
  • 22. Difference Between Digestive System And Digestive System What the digestive system does The digestive system is when the body does to break down food. Firstly, it enters the mouth and is broken down by the teeth of the animal and saliva. Then it travels along the oesophagus to the stomach. Then in the stomach for further breaking down, it is broken down by hydrochloric acid and enzymes. The acid breaks down bacteria and the food material into smaller molecules. Once this is complete it then moves onto the small intestine. Enzymes are secreted from the pancreas into here and bile from the liver which emulsifies fats. Nutrients from the food are absorbed into the bloodstream. Then it moves onto the large intestines where water is absorbed to produce faeces waste. Then it is moved to the rectum to be released from the anus. This is the basic digestive process of a monogastric animal, other animals are more complex and different processes happen. Comparing ruminants and non ruminants A ruminant is an animal such as a cow which is a foregut fermenter and has four chambers for their digestion. They also regurgitate their food unlike non ruminants. Ruminants chew their food briefly before swallowing it first time. The first part of their digestion is the rumen which has specialised bacteria to digest cellulose. They then regurgitate and re chew the food, it is called cud and the cud returns to the rumen. They chew this cud for 6 8 hours per day whilst resting. This is an advantage compared to the horse because it means that the fibre is

With all the bad light on the gun world the best thing people within can do is make sure they follow all safety steps. The number of gun
  • 24. Differences Of Religion In The Western And Western Religions Religion is an important aspect of the lives of many people throughout the world. While there are many different religions throughout the world that all have different beliefs, people tend to only accept one religion as the ultimate truth and reject all others. This ideology sometimes can be so strong as to cause war between countries throughout the world as well as throughout history. There is also a popular opinion in western countries, including the United States, that western religions are better than eastern religions, where eastern religions are often viewed as archaic and undeveloped. This opinion, however, is incorrect and often stems from the major differences between the two different types of religionthat people are often not aware of. Eastern Religions differ from Western Religions in that they have different ideology as well as a different set of customs and values. Eastern Religions often have cosmic origins. In Eastern Religions, there is a large emphasis on growing yourself so that you can become a more aware spiritual person, and this required to reach salvation. This is because Eastern Religions view the cause of man s plight is from the soul s immaturity. In order to accomplish this spiritual evolvement, one must also follow a strict set of rules throughout their life that involves respecting others and living a virtuous and moral life. Even the idea of salvation in Eastern Religions is very different from that of Western Religions, being that salvation

This leads to the following research question: How does the 1986 television series Journey to the West convey the novel s original Confucian message, and what does this suggest for its production purposes? I argue that authors and producers often attempt to impose their own set of cultural and political ideologies on its audience through a certain depiction of right and wrong. In this manner, works of fiction might influence, perhaps even alter, the ideologies of the audience.[3] Accordingly, analyzing the depiction of ideologies in media content can serve as a basis for further research on if and how producers intend to influence their audience. This particular case of Confucianism in the 1986 Journey to the West television series is especially interesting, due to China s socio political setting of that time. The current system does a fairly decent job of predicting the amount of aid needed assuming both the parents and the student are paying for the student?s education. When the ventricle is full, the tricuspid valve shuts. This prevents blood from flowing backward into the atria while the ventricle contracts. As the ventricle contracts, blood leaves the heart through the pulmonic valve, into the pulmonary artery and to the lungs where it is oxygenated blood then passes through the aortic valve into the aorta to tissues and body organs. 2.Describe the electrical conduction system of the heart. • 44. Descriptive Essay On My Pet Dog My Pet Lola My pet dog, Lola is a very interesting dog. We really don t know much about her, but we still love her and take care of her. Our Lola is a rescued dog from the Romney Sport s Park. An old couple found her under a car while my class was at the park because it was the last week of school, and we went for all the things we have done in that grade. My mom came with us to watch and supervise, when she found her on a leash by an old man. My mom wanted to know if we could keep her if we came by later and he agreed that we could take her. It was that day on June 2, 2015 when we accepted her into the family! She has been a great addition to the family. The veterinarian told us that she was about 2 to 3 years old at the time. Lola Lu is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cool thing about her is that she is a schnauzer without the cut and average schnauzer. Her legs are longer than the average schnauzer. They measure an exact 1 foot at the inch. We all found out not too long ago that she likes to cuddle and hug you in the person who is holding her. She will not mind, but she does not like it when you shut her mouth. Lola will squirm and will want to leave you at that exact instant. A couple tricks we taught her are to sit and to go to her room when it is bedtime or when we have to leave the house. She is still not trained to go pee on a piddle pad, but that is a problem with all of our dogs, just as it is with pooing on the piddle pad. Lola loves to play with people, but she really loves to play with our 1 year old French bulldog Oliver. The 2 of them will chase each other around the house playing with each other for hours. When they get tired, they like to sleep in a pouf together and will lay there for more hours than they ran around. Then it will just
