UiPath “Automation for Good”
The value of automation can be applied to
support critical missions of the
organization and a wide array of business
outcomes and use cases, ranging from
sustainability to social impact and more,
going beyond just productivity and efficiency
gains.
Automation changes the way we work, freeing
up people from repetitive tasks so they can
spend time on activities requiring creativity,
problem-solving, and empathy. With
automation, employees feel more engaged
and satisfied with their work.
The socio-economic impact of automation
contributes to new job creation. Providing
employees with access to training helps
them acquire new automation skills and
unlock high-growth job opportunities.

Case study: Freeing employees to focus on
core missions, not paperwork at New York
Foundling
The New York Foundling is one of New York City’s oldest and largest
social services providers and is recognized as the founder of the child
foster care system. A not-for-profit organization, it attracts people who
truly want to help children and their families. Paper-based processes
and employees having to navigate the use of at least five different
systems to catalog and maintain data related to the families the
organization serves. This created numerous issues, not the least of
which involved time-consuming data entry and high staff turnover
rates.
New York Foundling realized that its ability to carry out its mission
required automating its data entry processes. With automation, staff
turnover has dropped, too, because now, instead of spending four
hours per day inputting data, clinicians are getting back to what they
set out to do: have important human interactions that help children
and families thrive.

53. The path to
becoming AI-enabled
1) Discover: Find out what problem you would like to
solve using Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, an
organization will need to find out which data sources are
available.
2) Agile Prototyping: A short, initial project is
required to develop a proof of concept
3) Productionize: The proof of concept is brought
into production for the use by stakeholders to generate
value.
4) Capacity Building: The NGO starts a larger
project to build up internal capacities like technical skills
and to foster stakeholder collaboration, communication and
problem-solving.
