The United Nations Public Administration
Country Studies (UNPACs ) is established to
provide knowledge resources to support
Member States’ efforts to improve performance
in public administration and development
management.
What is UNPACS?
The UNPACs is a web based effort for information
dissemination and knowledge transfer on key public
administration issues in Member States. It is designed to
develop and facilitate knowledge transfer including sharing of
resources, data, best practices and innovative new
approaches for effective public administration and
governance.
Objectives of UNPACs
• Provide easily accessible e-information on Member States of the
United Nations in the areas of public sector institutional development;
public sector human resource management; e-government; citizen
engagement and knowledge management in the government;
• Present in support of policy makers’ use of ICT for public
administration effectiveness, transparency, knowledge management;
and e-government;
• Map innovative practices in these areas of public sector development
citing best practices and lessons learnt;
• Provide online tools and networks for use of the policy makers in
these areas;
• Provide an Internet based shared knowledge platform for information
sharing and dissemination between users on public administration
and development.
