Pu Yi was the last Emperor of China who ruled from age 2 to 12 but had no real power. He lived a sheltered life in the Forbidden City until being deposed by republican forces in 1924. He then collaborated with the invading Japanese during World War 2 and ruled the puppet state of Manchukuo. After the war, Pu Yi spent 10 years in prison for treason before being released and living a humble life as a gardener in Beijing until his death in 1967.
