Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

2. Entry 1: Social learning
In kindergarten, I have a fear to join that school. The reason is I grow up with my parent from the
day I born. Usually in that school, I am quiet and do not mix well with friends. Most of my
classmates always bully me and sometimes they even talk bad about me. Besides that, my stuff has
always been stolen by my classmate. On the other hand, my classmates often copy my homework
without my permission. When I travel by bus I often cry, thinking about parents every hour and
minute. One thing I learn from this school is independence. Independence helps me to overcome
different kind of problem.
3. Entry 2: Self Fulfilling Prophecy
I like to watch the Olympic Games since when I was small. I often hope I can become a
sportsman in school. In primary school, I join the 60m running competition on sport days.
Unfortunately I got last in that competition. That time I felt very sad that I can’t achieve number 1.
Then I join athletics club when my age is 8. In the club, our coach is always concern about our
health. Our coach said if we did not take care of our health we will not perform well in the running
track. Everyday we train under the hot sun for a few hours. We all do not skip any training from the
first day. When I am 9, I also join the running competition but still I got no 4. After years of
training, finally my coach told me that I am fully prepared to take on this challenge again. On that
year, I have joined 4 different sports that is high jump, 100m hurdle, 200m and 4x100m. On that
day, the first event was 100m. I am so nervous until I am so silence that I do not dare to talk with
other people. I look around the stadium, I can feel the support of my parent, brother and my relative.
I can feel the fear when I can see my opponent with full of spirit. After the coach fire the gun, we
run till the end of the line. I try my full best to reach my target. Surprisingly I got number 1 which I
did not expected before. My friends come down and celebrate with me. I did not even get to forget
this beautiful moment that I have achieve. My coach even praise me that I have the spirit to reach
the best. Beside that other event like high jump I got no 1, 200m I got no 3 and 4x100m I got no2.
Before the end of the ceremony, the headmaster announced that Thun Shao Xun has been awarded
as sportsmanship of the year in 2004.
4. Entry 3: Observational Learning
Lim Yao Hong is my most admire person since when I join police cadet in secondary school.
On the first day when I join police cadet, each of my every senior member treats me well. They
often share their story of their life in police cadet. Most of my senior told me that how hard they
have to suffer in this club. Still I did not change my decision to leave police cadet. In the camp, Lim
Yao Hong is my leader. In that camp, the coach trains us and punish us every second until some
parent started complaining our club. In that camp Lim Yao Hong has been punished, this is because
I did not do the things well. The coach even ask me to stand infront of him to see how he has been
punished. On that time, my tear comes out and I feel abit fearful. But Yao Hong told me that, we all
must always think we can do it and do not ever give up easily. After I heard the word that he said, I
awake and potrayed as Yao Hong role. I often learn marching with him. Sometimes I even take a
peek to see how he march then I will march beside the hall. I even learn the style he command the
troop. After he retire, I realize how he bring me up and how many things that he taught me well.
Before he left, I salute him that he treat me well in this club and always remind me that he always
stay beside me when I have any problem.
5. Entry 4: Operant conditioning
At one time, teacher always told us that if you all stay quietly and pay attention to her you
will get a lollipop. Yes that time I was still small, I always listen what the teacher teach. I often get
high mark in class and teacher always offer me a packet of sweet. She even told me not to take the
sweet everyday because is not good for health. After when I start primary school, I started becoming
lazy and always play hide and seek with my friends. My teacher even cane us due to our laziness.
On that time, after my school I always go back home to play games until one day the teacher
complaint that my result is getting worst. So my parents confiscate my console games and kept it
aside. She even told me that if I get good result she will give me back the console game. On that
time, I everyday study properly and follow the schedule that have been set by my parents. After
mid-term result, I found that I have improve a lot and teacher even praise me that I study well.
6. Entry 5: Social Loafing
In this university I have learn different kind of experiences and mix different kind of friend.
In my foundation, the lecturer gave different kind of assignments but most of the assignment would
like to be in the group. Along this year, I group with a lot of people with different kind of
perspective. But there is once that I group with the other five member. This assignment is board
game assignment which carry a lot of mark in that particular subject. Among this five member, one
of the member always appear but he does not help us to do the assignment. Initially he did come for
few meetings but soon he rarely appear. Even he appear he just like giving a few idea without really
helping us to make the model. He is likes all talk and no action.On that last night before the day we
submit the project, we wererushing together but he left early because he got something to do.
