The document provides an example of observational learning from a baby girl copying gestures done by the author at church. The baby smiled when the author smiled at her, and reached out her hand for a high five after the author high fived her. This shows that even as infants, people can learn through observing the behaviors, actions, and reactions of others. Observational learning is an involuntary process where what is seen is imprinted in the mind.
This document summarizes the key events and lessons learned from a ghost hunting experience with a friend. It describes how they used an Ouija board at a reportedly haunted house and strange events occurred, including the planchette moving and the friend appearing possessed. However, the writer believes it was likely due to confirmation bias, as they subconsciously moved the planchette and their friend was exaggerating. The experience taught them about avoiding confirmation bias when investigating paranormal activities.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Concept : observational learning
Observational learning is the learning process that occurs through observing
which used up our sense of sight to learn about the behavior and movement of other
people. Observational learning is happen all most of the time in our daily life since we
were born and it will never end until the end of our life.
I experience observational learning frequently in my daily life. One of the
examples was after my secondary friends and I finish our last paper of SPM. We decided
to celebrate at Setia City mall which located at Shah Alam. We meet up with each other
around 11.30 and managed to catch up the avengers movie which started at 11.30.
After finish watching the movie we decided to had lunch at Subway. Since I never have
Subway fast food before, I decided to follow my friend to had lunch at there. After, we
sited I observed and learnt how my friend ordered and pay their sandwiches before my
turn. I then realize that at first the Subway worker will ask about what types of bread
and meat you would like to choose. After that, the worker will ask you what types of
vegetables to put into your bread. Therefore, I felt panic once I reached the sauce
department because I was scare of mixing wrong sauces that will make my sandwiches
become delightful. After observed that how my friends mix the sauce into their bread I
realized the barbecue sauce and mayonnaise is the common sauce that must be put into

the sandwiches and the secret sauce named red wine vinaigrette which you cannot
found it on the shelf of the sauce department. Then finally, I had learned how to get a
sandwich in Subway through observational learning.
Observational learning is one type of social learning skill that require observing
and retaining the behavior of other. I was able to buy a sandwich from Subway without
any experience and being taught or teach by other people because I used observational
learning skill. I felt that using this type of learning process skill is much better than other
learning skill. If we can apply this leaning skill in every single thing especially in study
there will be no problem to get a high grade in exam.

Concept: social proof
After finish my first semester of foundation in natural and built environment I
have a two month of break to continue my second semester. Life goes normal and easy
during my two month semester break. To make my semester break more meaningful I
decided to go have a jog with my friends at Taman Rakyat which located at south of
Klang. Taman Rakyat which is a small jungle and did not have proper road for us to walk.
Every day, there have peoples jog at Taman Rakyat. On that day, the weather was nice
and we gather at the entrance of the Taman Rakyat around 8 in the morning. After that
we start to jog in Taman Rakyat.
After two hour jog, we feel tried and we decided to take a rest under a tree and
we continue to jog. These were our first time jog at Taman Rakyat and we did not
familiar about the map of Taman Rakyat. When we jog for an hour, we found that there
have two tracks in Taman Rakyat the first track is look muddy and another track is
actually a slope and we can see that it connected into deep jungle. When I decided to
choose the second track and friend advise me not to use the second way because is look
creeps and risky and suggested to use the first way while my another friend say that the
first way is to muddy it will dirty up our cloth easily and suggest to use the second way.
This situation is very hard for me to make decision and my friends start to quarrel with
each other but when I turn around my head I saw a group of uncle used the first way.
5. Social Psychology(PSYC 0103) Tee Hing Nian Page 5
After five minutes, we actually noticed that there have three group of hiker choose the
first way and there only have a couple which choose the second way. Automatically, we
choose the first way to continue our journey. This shows that the concept of social proof
and finally we reach the entrance of Taman Rakyat which is also as the exit point.
Social proof is known as an informational social influence and it is a psychological
phenomenon where people attempt to follow the other action to reflect the correct
behavior in a situation. Even though, the two ways which finally will reach to the end
point but we decided to follow the first way that all most everyone choose rather than
the second way where less people choose the way to the end point because of we are
all in unfamiliar place and did not the know safety of the second way. After all, there
actually have a reason why most of the people choose the first way.

Concept : Abraham Maslow hierarchy of needs
In the early morning, I woke up at six O’clock and it was quiet wield for me
because I am still having my semester break which will be end soon. When, I was having
my holidays usually I woke up around 10a.m. I cannot sleep well during the nighttime
because tomorrow is the important day for me which I will get my first semester result.
When I think about this matter I will felt nervous and excited. Automatically, my brain
will dysfunction and cannot do any other activity even sleeping which is the simplest
activity in human life.
I sat on the sofa until my mum came down around 7 in the morning. She was
very surprise that why I had been woke up so early and started to ask me. I explained
that I am very nervous and excited about my exam result which causes permanently
insomnia. After that, my mother told me a real life story. The story began when my
mother was a young girl she stays at the poor resistance housing area. Beside my
mother house stay a poor family which their husband just passed away cause of
accident and he left his wife and a son. After that, his son stops his study and started to
find job but on the same time her mother get sick. He can’t afford to buy medicine for
her mother and he started to steel the medicine from the pharmacy and he get caught
by the shop owner. As a conclusion, he was been jail for five years and before he get
7. Social Psychology(PSYC 0103) Tee Hing Nian Page 7
into jail his mother passed away he was very sad. After five year, he left the bars and he
promised his mum to leave the mistake in the rear view. Once he was released he work
as a construction worker with low pay and he stay at the construction side. In one year
time, he works very hard and has a good performance and the construction boss has a
good impression through him and the boss actually had a daughter who likes the boy
very much. Soon, the daughter approach he and they fell in love with each other. After
that, the boy become a manager and no longer working at the construction side after a
few years they get married and the boss retried and let the boy to run the bisnenuss.
After the boy manages the construction work he started to find lands and develop it and
he started to earn money. In a short period he was able to buy big shops and shop lot.
Finally, he form a small family with his wife and life happily.
In this lesson, which my mum told me that hardworking is the key of success.
When I am study should be hardworking so that when the result came out you will be
not nervous or fear. In psychology, the concept of Abraham Maslow hierarchy of needs
was showed which at first the boy did not had anything after he was released from jail
and he find a job which is a construction worker and did not mind to stay at the
construction side. At this moment he was under the basic category which is
physiological needs and safety and belonging. After that, he fell in love with the
construction boss daughter which under love and belonging. In self-esteem, he started
to be a manager and no longer goes to construction side to be a construction worker. In
intellectual and aesthetic category the boy takes over his father in Law Company and

started to develop land and earn a lot of money after that, he start to buy car and big
houses.

Today is Sunday which I started my first week of my second semester. My
mother woke me up early in the morning to accompany her to get some vegetable at
the morning market. Normally my father will go to the morning market with my mother
but this week my father went out station to Pahang and I need to accompany with my
mother.
After finish marketing, we decided to take breakfast at a coffee shop which
located near the market. We order curry noodles and a cup of tea for our breakfast meal.
Normal our family will left our balance and will keep it after meal. When we started to
eat, suddenly a beggar showed out beside us to please some money. The bagger is an
old woman who seem like from china and she looks healthy. On the table, we found
there have only left three pieces of ten ringgit and a piece of five ringgit. It was too
heavy for us to give her the money. So my mother decided took out her purse and gave
one ringgit for her. After my mother gave her one ringgit she seen like she did not
satisfied and she remain standing beside us and look at the money that lay on the table.
My mother was very angry and gave her five ringgit after that she walk away. We were
very angry and started to blame our immigration department which let those china
beggar easily come to our country. In that moment, we had showed the cognition
behavior.

Concept : Social Perception
Today is my secondary friend finishes his course which is foundation in business
and he decided to celebrate with me and my other friends. After finish our SPM exam
we already did not have a gathering so we take this opportunity. We went to SS13
Chinese hawker center to take our supper. While we were talking we saw a younger girl
wearing a tiger beer uniform and a short pant. She was serving the beer to our next
table customer which is a group of uncles. Her mouth was very sweet when she talks to
those uncles and she also let the uncles touch her hand and did not feel shy. We felt
please to the girl who did not care about her images and we started to guess about her
background which came from a poor morality family and wonder why their family
member can let her work this type of disgusting work. After that, we continue our next
topic.
In the midnight, everyone were tried and we decided to went back home. After
that, we dismiss at the Chinese hawker center. When, I am waking on the road to pick
up my car suddenly I hear a guy shout. After that, I saw a man scolding a young girl and
noticed that the young girl is actually the girl who serves the beer. The man looks drunk
and tries to get some money from her and the young girl gave him some money to he
and he left. After that, the girl cries and shouts out the word “useless father”. At the
incident happen, I feel pity toward her and feel very sorry to her because I did not know
11. Social Psychology(PSYC 0103) Tee Hing Nian Page 11
her situation and started to talk bad about her and her job when first time I meet her. In
this moment, it showed the concept of social perception which forming an impression of
other based on the information available from he or she body.
