How do we know what medieval villages looked likeDagmar Seljamäe
Archaeologists used aerial photographs and evidence found below the surface to piece together what the medieval village of Wharram Percy looked like after it had been abandoned by the 1500s. (1) They discovered stone foundations of rectangular houses in rows, as well as fields named "Water Lane", "Towngate", and "Town Street" near the isolated church. (2) Combining this with aerial photographs showing details below ground, archaeologists were able to produce a plan of the village layout including houses, roads, fields, and positions of the manor house and mill near the church. 2) The video criticizes the state of global politics in the 1980s, portraying an unstable world with many problems but little leadership or solutions.
3) It suggests that the next generation must work to make the world a better place worth living in, through involvement in solving problems rather than empty promises.
