Proposal
The name is decided on is “Bassline” as it is a play on words as a Bassline is a
musical term, however a baseline is the bottom line of something. After
conducting the necessary questionnaire/survey I received the data that there
was a need for a music magazine within the genre of pop/dance.
I want to feature either a musical instrument on the front cover or a street
musician – the street musician will be easy to photograph as they are around
the area I live in however getting an image of a famous singer would be quite
difficult.
The main genre of the magazine is Pop/Dance and Rock, more upbeat music
which most of the target market will listen to.
On the double page spread I want to have a featured artist, new and
upcoming artists, best singles of 2013 and an exclusive interview with a
musician.
Price sold at : £2.99
Where it will be sold: Supermarkets, HMV, Music stores
Any digital platforms: An app or website, these can be accessible by a number
of devices so it will reach a large number of customers. This may come later in
the stage after the magazine has been established and customer demand has
increased.
This is a rough plan of the layout of
the music magazine, on the final I will
use an image of my own instead of
this image from the internet.
The content of the magazine
will be previewed on the
cover as that is the convention
that nearly all music
magazines follow.
The name “Bassline” is a play on
words which many of the music
enthusiasts will understand and
relate to.
The price (if sold) will be £2.99, as
my research indicates this is what
most music magazines sell for.
Names
Mayhem

Turn it up
MBS – MUSIC BANDS AND SINGERS

After looking at other magazines, I came up with a few names to
choose from.
Research into fonts
Most music magazines feature big and and bold fonts, the colours vary
depending on their theme. The magazines stick to one colour and font for the
title.
