Propaganda Essay Topics
Writing an essay on the topic of "Propaganda Essay Topics" can be a challenging task, as it
requires a nuanced understanding of propaganda, its techniques, and its impact on society. The
difficulty lies in navigating through the intricate web of persuasive tactics employed in
propaganda, while critically analyzing their implications.
To begin with, selecting suitable propaganda essay topics involves a careful consideration of the
diverse forms of propaganda, ranging from political to commercial and beyond. Crafting a thesis
statement that captures the essence of the chosen topic and outlines the key points to be
discussed adds another layer of complexity. It necessitates a thorough review of scholarly
articles, historical documents, and contemporary examples to support the argument.
The challenge deepens when attempting to strike a balance between presenting factual
information and incorporating a personal perspective. Addressing the ethical dimensions of
propaganda while avoiding personal biases demands a delicate approach. It requires an in-depth
exploration of counterarguments and a fair evaluation of contrasting viewpoints.
Moreover, organizing the essay coherently is crucial for effectively conveying the message.
Developing a logical flow from introduction to conclusion, ensuring each paragraph contributes
seamlessly to the overall argument, is a meticulous process. This involves structuring the essay in
a way that engages the reader and maintains their interest while conveying complex ideas.
Additionally, addressing the potential emotional impact of propaganda and its manipulation of
public opinion adds a layer of sensitivity to the writing process. Balancing objective analysis
with an empathetic understanding of the societal implications of propaganda requires careful
consideration of language and tone.
In conclusion, writing an essay on propaganda topics demands a multifaceted approach that
combines research, critical analysis, and effective communication. It challenges the writer to
navigate through the intricate world of persuasive communication, providing both a
comprehensive understanding of the subject and a thought-provoking perspective for the reader.

Leif Erikson s Discovery Of Vinland
After spending the winter in Vinland, Leif sailed back to Greenland, and never
returned to North American shores.Erikson was an Icelandic explorer and probably
the first European visitor to North America, 500 years before Christopher
Columbus.Leif Erikson (also spelled Ericsson, or Eiriksson) was the second of three
sons of Erik the Red, who established a settlement in Greenland after he was exiled
from Iceland. Leif Erikson s story was recorded in several different sagas, but the
accounts they give are so different it is impossible to be certain of the details of his
life.
He is thought to have visited Norway in around 1000 where he was converted to
Christianity by Olaf I, who sent him back to Greenland to convert the settlers there.
In one story, on his voyage to Greenland he sailed off course and arrived in a place
he called Vinland , because of the abundant grapes growing there, and the general
fertility of the land. In another the Groenlandia saga he heard of a land in the west
from an Icelandic trader, and went to find it.The precise identity of Vinland remains
uncertain, with various locations on the North American coast identified. In 1963,
archaeologists found ruins of a Viking type settlement at L Anse aux Meadows, in
northern Newfoundland, which correspond to Leif s description of Vinland. ... Show

Continuing, Islam s view of life is an ending to an eternal life after death and they
abide by their own version of the bible, the Koran, created from a collection of
prophet s revaluations from previous Muslim leaders. According to the scholastic
article of Islam the Koran is the main source for Islamic law that includes five
pillars , rules they are to live by. The five guides are Shahadah the profession of faith
which they must believe there is only one god, Salat meaning prayer in which they
must pray five times every day, Zakat or almsgiving where they are to give their
wealth to the needy, Sawk is fasting that is to take place each day during the month

the city of Mecca at least once in their lifetime. All three religions have the
knowledge that there is only one God, conduct their life around the set rules, and
have belief that their destiny is in heaven or hell. Second, we have the view of
Deism which is also a believe that God is present in an infinite existence. In the
eyes of Deist miracles existed at a point in time but are now no longer possible to

Organizational Development Of Samsung
The chosen news article is the August 7, 2017 CNNMoney one about the head of the
Samsung Company who is on trial where the prosecutors seek to have him serve a
twelve year jail sentence for charges of corruption (CNNMoney, 2017). This
particular article has successfully galvanized the three core concepts of organizational
development. These include organizational climate, organizational culture and
organizational strategies. Organizational culture is concerned with the deeply
enshrined norms, values and characteristics that the members of the organization
share. The organizational climate refers to the mood or singular personality traits of
the organization that includes the beliefs and attitudes that bear an influence upon the
members aggregate behavior. The organizational strategies deal with how the
organization identifies problems, negotiates change, plans action and makes an
evaluation of its progress. These concepts of organizational development as per the
aforementioned article make the basis of the contents of this paper.
The article is about Samsung s Lee Jae yong. He is the forty nine year old son of the

No matter how you wrap, roll or serve Mexican food, it is sure to be delicious! I
could eat fajitas, burritos, enchiladas or tamales every day and never get tired of
this wonderful cuisine. My waistline, however, may show the damage. The
downfall of many Mexican dishes is the high content of fat found in ingredients
such as ground beef and pork, re fried beans, sour cream and often large amounts of
cheese. With this simple Mexican lasagna, I will replace the traditional ground
beef with tofu crumbles. This swap not only makes the meal vegetarian, it cuts out
most of the saturated fat, which has been linked with high cholesterol levels and
cardiovascular disease. I will reduce the fat content and calories further by using

My Identity Essay
My identity can be summarized by six key elements. Each element has helped
shape me into the person I am today. Every decision and action I have made can be
linked to the elements of my identity. Although there are many elements that can be
found in my identity, my appearance and religion, along with being a Nebraskan,
family member, student, and athlete, are the primary contributions to my identity.
The first element of my identity starts externally with my appearance. Throughout
my life, the first thing people notice about me is my blonde hair. My hair is
naturally blonde and is so light that people like to question if it is my real hair
color. Being a blonde is a big part of my appearance, but my height also plays a role
in my appearance. I have always been targeted by others because of my height. My
tall height has caused me to stand out in a crowd. This extra attention has caused
me to become self conscious, but has taught me to embrace my height and all of
my flaws. Being that tall, blonde girl has contributed to who I am and how I
identify myself externally, but my religion plays a big role in my internal identity.
Being a Christian has shaped my identity by establishing my core values. Exhibiting
good morals was established in my childhood and I have stood by these continuously.
I have learned that there are difficult challenges throughout life, but I can overcome
these challenges with God. My religion has taught me to be blessed for everything in
my life
The Disclosure Of Private Search Dat Aol Inc. ( An...
Many researchers are facing the challenges of producing and publishing data with
the help of technologies without breaching of the privacy and confidentiality. In this
report, a case study of the disclosure of private search data in AOL Inc. (an
American web search media) is presented to reveal the consequences of privacy
violation and highlight the importance of ethical awareness and privacy protection in
researchprojects.
Modern researchers are using technologies to collect, analyse, publish and store data
electronically to improve productivity. While the deployment of the software,
hardware and networks has proven to be efficient and effective, many ethical
dilemmas may have encountered along with the data handling process. Lynch (2000)
suggests that information is a powerful source and user accessibility is the key to its
prosperity. Given the open access, duplication convenience and fast dissemination
features of the online data, it is important to make ethical and legal judgments in what
and how information should be collected and utilised in order to protect people s
rights and privacy. Since legal control normally fall behind technical improvements,
ethics steps forward to bridge the gap and guide people in making moral decisions
when handling sensitive information.
Ethics refer to the rules and guidelines for differentiating between right and wrong
behavior. Individuals may reach common understandings on some ethical norms but
interpret them differently
Cultural Changes From The 1960 S
Conrad Phillip Kottak has visited the small village of Arembepe numerous times
over the years. His visits were frequent, but spaced out over a couple years, which
caused him to begin to notice some very dramatic changes from the Arembepe he
came to know. The development of a more stratified society caused for some major
changes coming to the small community. This essay is going to address the major
cultural changes from the 1960 s to the 1980 s and whether or not the suburbanization
of this villagecommunity was good or bad.
Arembepe in the 1960 s consisted of only 159 households (730 people), which
made up the small village community. Malnutrition, poor public health, and high
infant mortality struck the village during this time. Traveling to and from
Arembepe proved difficult because it lacked paved roads. Hardly any people ever
visited the village, which is why Kottak often referred to it as being isolated from
the rest of the world. Having no electricity in the village also proved a real struggle
for communication to the outside world. 74% of men in Arembepe worked as
fishermen and 11% worked in business (Kottak 50). In order to make a good living,
it was very common for men to have more than one job. Women would cook, clean,
make items for fishing, and help run stores. Overall, Arembepe in the 1960 s was not
a stratified society, but that was soon going to change.
All Arembepeiros were baptized as Catholics, so prior to the 1980 s, Arembepe was
mostly ritual free.
Posterior Tibial Slope
Introduction: Average Posterior Tibial Slope (PTS) in Indian patients is found to be
higher than the Caucasian population . The mechanical axis in the arthritis patients is
shifted further posteriorly as shown by increased Posterior tibial slope in arthritic
patients. Post operative PTS after total kneearthroplasty has been implicated to
affect the incidence of complications like aseptic loosening , knee joint subluxation,
tibial dehiscence , coronal plane joint instability etc. Most surgeons In North India
desire a Post op Posterior tibial slope within the range of 0 7 degrees. Metaphysio
diaphysio angle is at present not included in pre operative planning of Total knee

Pre operative Posterior tibial slope (preop PTS), Metaphysio diaphyseal angle (MDA)
, and Post operative Posterior Tibial Slope (postop PTS) were recorded. Data was
analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient.
Results: The mean Pre op PTS was 18.4 degrees with standard deviation of 5.6
degrees. The mean MDA was 19.7 degrees with standard deviation of 4.9 degrees.
The mean Post op PTS was 10.2 degrees with standard deviation of 6.6 degrees.
There is strong correlation between Pre op PTS and MDA with pearson co efficient
of 0.79 . Also there is moderate correlation between ratio of Post op and pre op PTS
and MDA (pearson co efficient of 0.62).
Conclusions: The knees with higher pre op PTS tend to have higher MDA and
vice versa. Although most surgeons are able to achieve the desired PTS at the
higher extreme of the widely accepted range of 0 7 degrees , patients with MDA
above 19 degree tend to have post op PTS significantly higher than the desired range
making them vulnerable to complications. Hence , necessary modifications (like pre
operative templating, intra operative extramedullary zig angle setting, using intra
medullary zigs etc ) shall be done in the current protocols to achieve desired PTS in
patients with knees having MDA in the higher
Online Dating And Its Impact On The World
With the advancement of the Internet, we have seen many changes in the dating
world. Hundreds of applications and websites have been created in order to connect
people locally and internationally. Among these websites and applications are online
dating tools. Online dating began in 1995 when Match.com was created, and has
grown significantly since. Millennials (the generation born between the 1980 s and
the mid 2000 s) were born into the digital revolution. Growing up, we were more
likely to text to ask for a date, rather than in person, or even over the phone. Now that
most Millennials are teenagers or older, datingapps have become the new norm. With
apps like OkCupid, Tinder, Grindr, and more, traditional dating values have gone out
the door to make room for online dating. The thing our parents knew as courting,
rarely exists within the Millennial generation. So, with all these knew dating tools,
the question becomes: Has online dating actually affected how Millennials date?
Literary Review In our research about online dating and the effect it has had on
how Millennials date, we found that there were some common ideas among
writers. Because our topic is relatively new, finding actual journals or research
studies were hard. We decided to focus mostly on articles written for big name
websites like Forbes and Time. The first things we decided to look at were the
statistics of online dating. Online dating began in 1995 when Match.com was created.

Socrates The Apology Analysis
In this week s reading, The Apology, Socrates expresses some strong views on
wisdom and death. This essay discusses some of these views, specifically in regards
to wisdom despite Socrates professions of not being wise.
In Socrates professions of not being wise, he tells a story of his quest to find one
wiser then himself. Socrates explains that as he has met with men of various
professions that thought themselves to be wise and that were considered to be wise
by others. Through examining those men in his various meetings, Socrates finds that
the people who have great reputations and believe themselves to be wise are actually
less wise than those with lesser reputations and less arrogance. He states, I found that
the men most in repute were all but the most foolish; and that others less esteemed
were really wiser and better. ,
In many of his encounters with self professed wise men, Socrates realized that this ...

Socrates believes that real wisdom lies with the gods, and human wisdom is
worthless. As an example of this, Socrates shows that when the Delphi said that he
was the wisest person, he did not mean Socrates as an individual, but instead as an
example of a person who realizes that human wisdom is worthless. Socrates claims
that he gained his reputation from having human wisdom, and not from any divine
intervention. However, he believes that it is divine duty to spread wisdom. He
believes this whole heartedly, stating that if were to be released with only one
condition as to stop teaching he would respond with, Men of Athens, I honour and
love you; but I shall obey God rather than you, and while I have life and strength I
shall never cease from the practice and teaching of philosophy... It is clear as to what
Socrates regards as a priority; wealth and honor are trifling concerns next to the

Ants won t kill your maple tree directly (Acer spp.), but that doesn t mean that an
ant infested maple tree isn t at some risk. The holes and tunnels left behind by
carpenter ants can make tree limbs weaker and more likely to fall from the tree
during windy weather. Holes made by ants may also make the tree more susceptible
to diseases and pathogens that could kill it, even though the ants themselves will not.
The biggest threat of ants in a maple tree, however, is that they will use the tree as a
bridge to your home or other structures.
Why Ants are Present
Ants are known to have a voracious appetite for aphids, and aphids are commonly
found in maple trees. Ants may be swarming your maple simply because it is
providing food. Carpenter ants also live on or near trees for reproductive purposes.
Ants don t eat the wood of the tree like termites do. Instead. they simply bore into the

The odds are high that the ants and tree will live in harmony and the tree will be
fine. If the tree is touching your home, trim it back so that it is no longer creating
a bridge from the tree to your house. Remove any limbs that are clearly dead or
damage to prevent an accident. If you are concerned for the health of the tree,
there are steps you can take to control the ants. If the tree contains aphids as well as
ants, getting rid of the aphids will deter the ants. Aphids can be hosed off the tree
with a jet of water from the garden hose. You can also spray the tree with an
insecticidal soap for safe pest control with no residual effects. To treat the ants
directly, apply a systemic tree and shrub pesticide. This type of pesticide is sprayed
around the tree and taken up by its roots to provide insect protection for up to a year.
A systemic pesticide is best for the tree, since it doesn t require that you drill holes

The Debate Over Organic Certification For Aquatic Animals
a) Becky Mansfield uses the debate over organic certification for aquatic animals
(216) in order to enlighten the inconsistency of the organic movement s ideas (230).
The organic community creates standards that are supported by their ideas, but when
the ideas become inconsistent and contradictory, it becomes very clear that their
standards are not set up on stable grounds.
b) The article was written in 2004, two years after the first US National Organic
Standards was implemented (216). This would have given researchers and anyone
involved in the agriculture world enough time to investigate the basis for the organic
movements standards, and to judge whether or not the standards were consistent and
fair.
2) Purpose of the article
Becky Mansfield is arguing that it is difficult to distinguish whether a product of
agriculture can have organic status or not. She has observed the debate over organic
certification for aquatic animals (216) from every angle, and believes that the
organic movement holds contradictory ideologies. These contradictions act as
blockages for the attribution of organic status to wild fish, because the fish do not
fall in any of the categories that the organic movement considers suitable for organic
status. But as Becky expresses a dialogue between the organic movement and others
involved in all realms of agriculture, it becomes obvious that it is not a problem of
the inherent environments of the fish, but a problem of classification of the
Similarities Between Equality And Inequality
The social issue of equality and inequality, has dated back to the beginning of time.
Although there is no way to find out, would one really think that cavemen would not
fight about who got the most food? Even children would argue if someone else has
more crayons, or more toys. Everyone has demanded equalityat least once in their
lifetime. Unfortunately inequalityoccurs more often than equality, and this will never
change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur most often in
today s society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely
see global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be
discussing the similarities and differences of equality and inequality through race,
sex, and religion.
When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social
setting, they might think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and
the main one is humans. Humans either have equality, or they do not have it, and
want it. Usually people have more courage in a group, rather than alone. This is also
a similarity with equality and inequality. It is often groups that rightfully raise the
issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of society (Gosepath). The
rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality, which
connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is
race. Both sides deal with all kinds of people
Examples Of Racism In A Lesson Before Dying
A Lesson Before Dying is an Ernest Gaines novel, published 1993. Gaines sets the
novel in a period after the World War II and before the African American Civil Rights
Movement. The black Americans were free from slavery at that time, but they still
got oppressed and segregated from the white Americans. In the novel, Gaines
demonstrates many forms of oppression and racism against the black characters,
especially the two main characters, Jefferson and Grant. Jefferson is convicted of
robbery and murder and sentenced to death. Along the novel, Grant helps Jefferson
find his human dignity before Jefferson is executed. Meanwhile, Grant has to figure
out his love for his community. Both of them would not accomplish this mission
without the women... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grant also wants to bring Jefferson a notebook so that he can write down what he
thinks, and Jefferson agrees to do so. In the next visit, Grant goes with Miss Emma,
Tante Lou, and Reverend Ambrose. Jefferson refuses to eat, so Grant asks Jefferson
to walk with him. As they walk, Grant tells Jefferson that a hero does something for
other people. Grant says that he is not a hero, and white people they know are not
better than Jefferson. The white people believe that Jefferson has no dignity and love
for his people, but Jefferson can prove them wrong.
Reverend Ambrose wants Grant to talk to Jefferson about God, but Grant refuses.
Reverend Ambrose calls Grant uneducated. He knows that Grant looks down on
him for lying, but he lies to relieve other people. Tante lou also lies. She always says
she is fine, while in fact she works very hard to send Grant to
Similarities Between Delany And Ursula Le Guin
Science fiction has evolved from simple ideas to the most imaginative creations, it
has been predominantly managed by closed minded people. This has led to authors
of science fiction to follow a set of norms while writing. These norms include
advanced technology, male heroes, and white male authors. The idea of a character
being placed in a distant future and the use of advanced technology is a common
theme used. Samuel Delany and Ursula Le Guin are two contrasting authors that
discuss oppression of minorities in their work in similar and distinct ways. Diversity
in science fictionprovides an outlet for authors like Delany and Le Guin to provide
the reader with an understanding of the cultural influence of minority groups,

believe that women are not capable of the same knowledge that the men pose.
Shevek first encounters this when he talks with Vea is an Urrasti woman content

this conversation to discuss sexism on Urras (pg 214). Ursula makes sexism a

Essay about Thoughts on the Color, Blue
Thoughts on the Color, Blue
During the time when polytheistic religions were widely practiced in Europe,
colors represented ideas associated with the paranormal and the spiritual. In many
cases, the color blue represented safety and protection. It was believed that if
someone wore or carried something blue, the bearer would be protected from evil
spirits. Over time, as patriarchal societies formed, the welfare of the male child took
priority over the welfare of the female child. Since male children were more
important, parents surrounded their sons with blue objects. This explains the
common association of males and the color blue that exists even in modern society.

Strictly speaking, blue is nothing but light that is reflected off the surface of an object
and into receivers. These receivers then send electrical impulses to the brain that then
interprets the impulses as blue. In that case, what more is color other than the
interpretation of electrical signals? Without the stimuli and the receiver, there would
be no color. In that case, color is only defined by the measurement of something else.
A scientific approach to seeing color reveals a puzzling explanation.
An object of any shade of blue contains pigments of that shade. These pigments
make the object blue by reflecting the blue light into the eyes. The other colored
lights are absorbed into the pigments. So, it is not that the object is blue. It is that it
absorbs everything but blue. The color is not the property of the object because it
never became part of the object. The object is not blue but the reason one would say
it is blue is because the brain interprets it as blue, not everything but blue.
Since color is only perceived by the eyes and interpreted by the brain, the question
of the existence of color arises. If not for the ability of receptors receiving reflected
light, then how else does color exist? Furthermore, if everyone in the world was
blind, then would blue still be blue? If the blue is still significant even without proper
perception, then there must be some quality

simplest gardens to create and can make a not so good looking area of your yard,

Liability For Negligence
Introduction
Litigation is becoming more prevalent in all areas of society, including education.
Schools are now the focus of an array of legislation which influences and impacts on
the daily professional lives of teachers. Subsequently, teaching is becoming an
increasingly complex profession. The most prominent legal concern expressed by
teachers is their vulnerability to negligence claims, as they work with those, who in
the process of enhancing their physical, intellectual and critical abilities, are more
susceptible to injury.
Negligence is defined as the omission to do something which a reasonable
man...would do, or doing something which a prudent and reasonable man would not
do. The general principle is that one should not harm those to whom they owe a
duty of care, by act or omission. Action for negligence is grounded on the breach of
a duty to exercise reasonable care. To be actionable, negligence must consist of four
elements; a duty, breach of the duty, causation and injury. The test frequently applied
by the courts is that of a reasonable person placed in the defendant s circumstances.
Liability for negligence cannot arise until it has been established that the man who
has been negligent owed some duty to the person who seeks to make him liable for
his negligence. Teachers have a legal duty of care, due to the special characteristics of
the teacher pupil relationship to take reasonable care to ensure that students meet
with no foreseeable injury
Low Carbohydrate Vs Low Fat Diet

vs Low carbohydrate diet If someone was trying to lose weight at a fast pace which
would be better for them, a low fat diet or a low carbohydrate diet? A low fat diet
limits fat and frequently immersed fat and cholesterol. A low carb diet limits sugars

Price Segmentation Price segmentation is common and widely practiced. Variation
in household incomes creates an opportunity for segmenting some markets along a
price dimension. If personal incomes range from low to high, the reasoning goes,
then a company should offer some cheap products, some medium priced ones, and
some expensive ones. 4. Demographic Segmentation Gender, age, income, housing
type, and education level are common demographic variables. Some brands are
targeted only to women, others only to men. Music downloads tend to be targeted to
the young, while hearing aids are targeted to the elderly. Education levels often
define market segments. For instance, private elementary schools might define their
target market as highly educated households containing women of childbearing age.

Notes On Acids And Bases
Topic: Acids and Bases.
Introduction
Acids are chemical agents that, when mixed with water, release hydrogen ions.
Acids have a pH of under 7 on the pH scale.(Williams, 2016) An acid produces a
sour taste, like Vinegar, and gives off a strong smell, that burns the human nose.
Acids are often very sticky, and react strongly with metals, and create a chemical
reaction to form H2. (Guch, 2003) A Base is the complete opposite of an Acid, and
describes a substance that is above 7 on the pH scale. Bases have a more higher
potential than Acids to accept Hydrogen Ions. This means that rather than releasing
ions, as an Acid would, a Base accepts the ions.(Morrissey, 2016) Similar to Acids,
Bases provide a Bitter taste, like Cocoa Beans, or Bicarb Soda. Bases, unlike Acids,
do not usually give off a distinct smell, but are usually quite slippery. Bases react
with most oils and fats, such as Detergent reacting with human skin, and slowly
breaking down the oils and fats in the skin tissue.(Guch, 2003)
The universal indicator is used for specifying whether a substance is a Base,
Neutral, or an Acid along the pH scale, by measuring the concentration of H3O+
ions in a substance. (N.a, 2016) The pH scale is a scale that determines whether a
substance is an Acid product, or a Basic product. The H in pH stands for Hydrogen,
however, the p is often debated, therefore is thought of as the power of the
hydrogen. (Morrissey, 2016) The pH scales ranges from ranking between 0 (Being

The Purpose Of An English Teacher
The purpose of an English teacher is to impart wisdom into the minds of his or her
students, through various methods and mediums such as stories, grammar exercises,
and literary writing assignments that challenge students to think critically. English is
an interesting subject, in relevance to education and philosophy; because, outside of
grammar, there are few concrete avenues an educator can take in order to properly
teach it. However, there are standards by which educational organizations follow and
promote, such as the Common Core Standards. One website, concerning the purposes
of the Common Core Standards, asserts, The skills and knowledge captured in the

Quite often, narratives will inspire various interpretations in the minds of the
students and the teachers a like though the author may have had a specific purpose
in mind when shaping his or her literary work. Though an objective analysis can be
done, regarding the interpretation of literary works, a teacher s worldview will
likely, in some ways, be expressed through his or her opinions of the work.
Flannery O Connor, a Christian novelist, in her essay named Novelist and Believer,
writes, The good novelist not only finds a symbol for feeling, he finds a symbol and
a way of lodging it which tells the intelligent reader whether this feeling is adequate
or inadequate, whether it is moral or immoral, whether it is good or evil (564). If
English teachers must analyze works and, furthermore, impart the skill of analysis to
their students then teachers will be influencing their students, whether they realize it
or not, with their worldview, since it s difficult for people to interpret a work without
drawing from their own perspectives their worldview.
Though worldviews are generally attributed to people, individually or collectively, a
field and/or committee that makes the rules and regulations of a particular thing can
be primarily shaped around a philosophy. Depending on the type of school system, a
certain philosophy will almost always be recognizable. For example, in many cases it

Rhetoric Summary
Many look at the subject of history as sifting through facts and personal accounts to
uncover the events of the past. However, history is more than dry facts. History often
intertwines with culture to give a more well rounded view of particular places and
people. In the nineteenth century, nationalism began to take hold in Europe. While it
might be common to think of nationalism in terms of revolt, nationalism also served
as a unifying force through cultural elements, such as folklore. Individuals from
around the world began collecting folk tales, songs, and dances that contributed to the
centralization of nationalistic movements that created independent nations. One such

Folklore was directly connected with Romantic nationalism, because it embodies
the traditional elements of the way of life of a group of people and the creative
expressions developing naturally as a part of this way of life. 14 Tangible cultural
artifacts such as stories, dances, ballads, and hand crafts reveal general beliefs of
particular groups.15Child embodied the Romantic nationalism movement. When
Child recorded the English and Scottish Popular Ballads, he specifically wrote in the
vernacular and dialect of the groups where he collected the stories and songs. Also,
his bibliography lists over fifty manuscripts in addition to several hundred printed
collections. For each ballad, he included every version he knew of. He preceded
each ballad with a note explaining its origin and its parallels in world literature,
referencing texts in over forty languages. 16 Child researched manuscripts from
England and Scotland, particularly old manuscripts that had transcribed the words of
actual singers before cheap printing had allowed corruptions to creep into the texts.
To retain the authenticity of the ballads, he planned to use only works orally
transmitted by uneducated people. 17 Additionally, Child sought both advice and aid
from scholarly communities located in Britain and North America, especially Child s

Peripheral Nerve Injury
A Review on Peripheral Nerve Injury
Abstract
Peripheral nerve injury(PNI) may result in a injury with a gap in the nerve or
without gap. It is a largescale problem and is known to affect 2.8% of trauma
patients. Unlike CNS, spontaneous regeneration may occur if the injury is small.
Although for a deeper injury the regeneration might be partial or may not occur at
all. These types of injuries are treated by surgeries using autografts or artificial nerve
guidance conduits. Despite, major advancements in the treatment methods, the
efficiency of the repair and functional recovery is still unpredictable. The purpose of

These changes at the site of injury begin almost immediately after the injury. The
axons sprout multiple regenerating axons within few hours. Schwann cells are known
to play an important role in guiding the regeneration of the axons by serving as a
physical conduit. The distal segment of the injury undergoes a slow degeneration
known as the Wallerian degeneration, after Augustus
VolneyWaller, who first characterized morphological changes in sectioned frog
glossopharyngeal and hypoglossal nerves 160 years ago. (9) This involves
breakdown of myelin and proliferation of
Schwann cells and invasion of macrophages at the distal end which clears the
myelin and axonal debris. Changes in the levels of neurotrophins are also seen at
both proximal and distal ends of the injury. It involves increased levels of Nerve

Essay on The Main Obstacles to Peace
The Main Obstacles to Peace There has been violence in the Middle East for the
past 60 years, and there still seems to be no hope of a compromise between the
Palestinians and the Israelis. In order for a peace settlement to work, both sides must
agree to it, and must overcome the four main barriers which stand in the way. They
must reach a compromise over the city of Jerusalem, showing it should be controlled
by both peoples because of the joint history between them, the attitudes and
expectations should try to be fulfilled, which would destroy the extremist movements
on both sides of the conflict, but more importantly, it has to see a solution for the

The Jews recently have begun settlement building in the West Bank, encouraged by
Ariel Sharon, (he was the housing minister in the 1970 s but now the Prime
Minister). Today around 400,000 Israelis live illegally on the Palestinian lands,
despite Resolution 242 passed 30 years ago making the occupation of the West
Bank and Gaza strip illegal. This is why most terrorism happens in these areas, in
order to scare the Israelis into defeat. A Recent example of this was in October
2003 when the Israelis launched a tender for the construction of 550 new homes in
the Jewish section of the West Bank there was much protest from the moderate
Palestinians but very soon there was a huge increase in the violence on the West
Bank. Therefore, since any compromise involves one side giving up or not getting
enough of the land they both see as rightfully belonging entirely to them, any peace
deal will inevitably leave both the Israelis and the Palestinians unhappy. The Second
barriers to peace are the extremists on both sides in this conflict. These people want
100% of the land and wouldn t be happy with anything less than the whole of
Palestine to themselves. Both the Palestinian and Israeli Prime Ministers have hoped
that with this new Road Map to Peace would satisfy the

Analysis Of BrontГ« s Presentation Of Pain In
Remembrance
BrontГ« s Presentation of Pain in Remembrance
BrontГ« s Remembrance is a fictional elegy to a past lover, who has been dead for
fifteen years, and conforms to the Victorian era notion that women must mourn the
death of their loved ones for prolonged periods. BrontГ« s use of the noun
Remembrance as the title evokes that the speaker wishes to remember her lover, but
wishes to forget the pain of their death. This notion was also explored by BrontГ« in
her novella Wuthering Heights where the Lintons recollect [and] Earnshaws
remember , reflected in the turmoil the Earnshaws face, which the Lintons do not.
Arguably, this presents the view that BrontГ« sees remembering as a source of pain,
and highlights her interest in the effects of grief ... Show more content on

C. Day Lewis finds that the effect of the rhythm in Remembrance is extremely
powerful, extremely appropriate and that it is the slowest rhythm I know in English
poetry, and the most sombre , effectively allowing Bronte to convey the grief of
remembering.
BrontГ« provides her speaker with a voice that strengthens and becomes more
logical as the poem continues, which would have been unusual in the Victorian era
for women in poetry. A first person narrative is provided by BrontГ«, who allows
the speaker s voice to linger and move with the environment. BrontГ« had originally
set the poem in Gondal, the poet s imaginary world where her writings were
frequently set, reflecting BrontГ« s imaginative mind, with her sister, Charlotte
BrontГ«, once stating An interpreter ought always to have stood between [Emily]
and the world. This world contained Princes and Princesses, and the poem was
originally written for the poet s character Princess Rosina to lament her husband,
Prince Julius, after he was murdered 15 years prior.
Memory is a key theme in Remembrance, where BrontГ« sets out... to discover what
happens when memory is dug up and brought in contact with the air . The speaker
directly addresses her love, Have I forgot, my only Love, to love thee (l.3), which

The Music Of The World Of Music
The world of music has seen many memorable composers such as Bach, Mozart,
Chopin, and Vivaldi, but none of them have a story as amazing as the 18th century
classical composer Ludwig Van Beethoven. His life played out like one of his
beautiful symphonies, with unimaginable highs, lows, victories, and defeats, (Viegas
5). Although he lost his hearing when he was 26 years old, Beethoven was famous
for his nine symphonies, and is also recognized as one of the cornerstones of Western

with music came from a love of the craft or from a drive instilled by his domineering
father (Viegas 13).
Regardless of his father s dominance, Beethoven s musical prodigy was very
natural for him. This is proven by the fact that although his father encouraged him
to play pre existing compositions, Beethoven composed his own. In 1779, German
composer Christian Gottlob Neefe took over Ludwig s father s role as a music
teacher. Mild mannered and well educated, he inspired Beethoven to pursue his
talent for composing music further, and in 1782, Neefe decided to publish
Beethoven s compositions. As Neefe began to publicize 12 year old Beethoven s
talents, they caught the attention of Maximilian Franz, the new elector of the region
who had an appreciation for music. He had Beethoven play the viola for his court
orchestra and was very

Leif Erikson s story was recorded in several different sagas, but the accounts they give are so different it is impossible to be certain of the details of his life. He is thought to have visited Norway in around 1000 where he was converted to Christianity by Olaf I, who sent him back to Greenland to convert the settlers there. In one story, on his voyage to Greenland he sailed off course and arrived in a place he called Vinland , because of the abundant grapes growing there, and the general fertility of the land. In another the Groenlandia saga he heard of a land in the west from an Icelandic trader, and went to find it.The precise identity of Vinland remains uncertain, with various locations on the North American coast identified. • 7. My Identity Essay My identity can be summarized by six key elements. Each element has helped shape me into the person I am today. Every decision and action I have made can be linked to the elements of my identity. Although there are many elements that can be found in my identity, my appearance and religion, along with being a Nebraskan, family member, student, and athlete, are the primary contributions to my identity. The first element of my identity starts externally with my appearance. Throughout my life, the first thing people notice about me is my blonde hair. My hair is naturally blonde and is so light that people like to question if it is my real hair color. Being a blonde is a big part of my appearance, but my height also plays a role in my appearance. I have always been targeted by others because of my height. My tall height has caused me to stand out in a crowd. This extra attention has caused me to become self conscious, but has taught me to embrace my height and all of my flaws. Being that tall, blonde girl has contributed to who I am and how I identify myself externally, but my religion plays a big role in my internal identity. Being a Christian has shaped my identity by establishing my core values. Exhibiting good morals was established in my childhood and I have stood by these continuously. I have learned that there are difficult challenges throughout life, but I can overcome these challenges with God. My religion has taught me to be blessed for everything in my life

Many researchers are facing the challenges of producing and publishing data with the help of technologies without breaching of the privacy and confidentiality. In this report, a case study of the disclosure of private search data in AOL Inc. (an American web search media) is presented to reveal the consequences of privacy violation and highlight the importance of ethical awareness and privacy protection in researchprojects. Modern researchers are using technologies to collect, analyse, publish and store data electronically to improve productivity. While the deployment of the software, hardware and networks has proven to be efficient and effective, many ethical dilemmas may have encountered along with the data handling process. Lynch (2000) suggests that information is a powerful source and user accessibility is the key to its prosperity. Given the open access, duplication convenience and fast dissemination features of the online data, it is important to make ethical and legal judgments in what and how information should be collected and utilised in order to protect people s rights and privacy. Since legal control normally fall behind technical improvements, ethics steps forward to bridge the gap and guide people in making moral decisions when handling sensitive information. Ethics refer to the rules and guidelines for differentiating between right and wrong behavior. Individuals may reach common understandings on some ethical norms but interpret them differently

His visits were frequent, but spaced out over a couple years, which caused him to begin to notice some very dramatic changes from the Arembepe he came to know. The development of a more stratified society caused for some major changes coming to the small community. This essay is going to address the major cultural changes from the 1960 s to the 1980 s and whether or not the suburbanization of this villagecommunity was good or bad. Arembepe in the 1960 s consisted of only 159 households (730 people), which made up the small village community. Malnutrition, poor public health, and high infant mortality struck the village during this time. Traveling to and from Arembepe proved difficult because it lacked paved roads. Hardly any people ever visited the village, which is why Kottak often referred to it as being isolated from the rest of the world. Having no electricity in the village also proved a real struggle for communication to the outside world. 74% of men in Arembepe worked as fishermen and 11% worked in business (Kottak 50). In order to make a good living, it was very common for men to have more than one job. Women would cook, clean, make items for fishing, and help run stores. Overall, Arembepe in the 1960 s was not a stratified society, but that was soon going to change. All Arembepeiros were baptized as Catholics, so prior to the 1980 s, Arembepe was mostly ritual free.

Millennials (the generation born between the 1980 s and the mid 2000 s) were born into the digital revolution. With apps like OkCupid, Tinder, Grindr, and more, traditional dating values have gone out the door to make room for online dating. The thing our parents knew as courting, rarely exists within the Millennial generation. So, with all these knew dating tools, the question becomes: Has online dating actually affected how Millennials date? Everyone has demanded equalityat least once in their lifetime. Unfortunately inequalityoccurs more often than equality, and this will never change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur most often in today s society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely see global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be discussing the similarities and differences of equality and inequality through race, sex, and religion. When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social setting, they might think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and the main one is humans. Humans either have equality, or they do not have it, and want it. Usually people have more courage in a group, rather than alone. This is also a similarity with equality and inequality. It is often groups that rightfully raise the issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of society (Gosepath). The rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality, which connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is race. Both sides deal with all kinds of people

Essay about Thoughts on the Color, Blue Thoughts on the Color, Blue During the time when polytheistic religions were widely practiced in Europe, colors represented ideas associated with the paranormal and the spiritual. In many cases, the color blue represented safety and protection. It was believed that if someone wore or carried something blue, the bearer would be protected from evil spirits. Over time, as patriarchal societies formed, the welfare of the male child took priority over the welfare of the female child. Since male children were more important, parents surrounded their sons with blue objects. This explains the common association of males and the color blue that exists even in modern society. A common practice among new families and couples with children on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Strictly speaking, blue is nothing but light that is reflected off the surface of an object and into receivers. These receivers then send electrical impulses to the brain that then interprets the impulses as blue. In that case, what more is color other than the interpretation of electrical signals? Without the stimuli and the receiver, there would be no color. In that case, color is only defined by the measurement of something else. A scientific approach to seeing color reveals a puzzling explanation. An object of any shade of blue contains pigments of that shade. These pigments make the object blue by reflecting the blue light into the eyes. The other colored lights are absorbed into the pigments. So, it is not that the object is blue. It is that it absorbs everything but blue. The color is not the property of the object because it never became part of the object. The object is not blue but the reason one would say it is blue is because the brain interprets it as blue, not everything but blue. Since color is only perceived by the eyes and interpreted by the brain, the question of the existence of color arises. If not for the ability of receptors receiving reflected light, then how else does color exist? Furthermore, if everyone in the world was blind, then would blue still be blue? If the blue is still significant even without proper perception, then there must be some quality

  • 26. Liability For Negligence Introduction Litigation is becoming more prevalent in all areas of society, including education. Schools are now the focus of an array of legislation which influences and impacts on the daily professional lives of teachers. Subsequently, teaching is becoming an increasingly complex profession. The most prominent legal concern expressed by teachers is their vulnerability to negligence claims, as they work with those, who in the process of enhancing their physical, intellectual and critical abilities, are more susceptible to injury. Negligence is defined as the omission to do something which a reasonable man...would do, or doing something which a prudent and reasonable man would not do. The general principle is that one should not harm those to whom they owe a duty of care, by act or omission. Action for negligence is grounded on the breach of a duty to exercise reasonable care. To be actionable, negligence must consist of four elements; a duty, breach of the duty, causation and injury. The test frequently applied by the courts is that of a reasonable person placed in the defendant s circumstances. Liability for negligence cannot arise until it has been established that the man who has been negligent owed some duty to the person who seeks to make him liable for his negligence. Teachers have a legal duty of care, due to the special characteristics of the teacher pupil relationship to take reasonable care to ensure that students meet with no foreseeable injury

  • 29. Notes On Acids And Bases Topic: Acids and Bases. Introduction Acids are chemical agents that, when mixed with water, release hydrogen ions. Acids have a pH of under 7 on the pH scale.(Williams, 2016) An acid produces a sour taste, like Vinegar, and gives off a strong smell, that burns the human nose. Acids are often very sticky, and react strongly with metals, and create a chemical reaction to form H2. (Guch, 2003) A Base is the complete opposite of an Acid, and describes a substance that is above 7 on the pH scale. Bases have a more higher potential than Acids to accept Hydrogen Ions. This means that rather than releasing ions, as an Acid would, a Base accepts the ions.(Morrissey, 2016) Similar to Acids, Bases provide a Bitter taste, like Cocoa Beans, or Bicarb Soda. Bases, unlike Acids, do not usually give off a distinct smell, but are usually quite slippery. Bases react with most oils and fats, such as Detergent reacting with human skin, and slowly breaking down the oils and fats in the skin tissue.(Guch, 2003) The universal indicator is used for specifying whether a substance is a Base, Neutral, or an Acid along the pH scale, by measuring the concentration of H3O+ ions in a substance. (N.a, 2016) The pH scale is a scale that determines whether a substance is an Acid product, or a Basic product. The H in pH stands for Hydrogen, however, the p is often debated, therefore is thought of as the power of the hydrogen. (Morrissey, 2016) The pH scales ranges from ranking between 0 (Being more

Quite often, narratives will inspire various interpretations in the minds of the students and the teachers a like though the author may have had a specific purpose in mind when shaping his or her literary work. Though an objective analysis can be done, regarding the interpretation of literary works, a teacher s worldview will likely, in some ways, be expressed through his or her opinions of the work. Flannery O Connor, a Christian novelist, in her essay named Novelist and Believer, writes, The good novelist not only finds a symbol for feeling, he finds a symbol and a way of lodging it which tells the intelligent reader whether this feeling is adequate or inadequate, whether it is moral or immoral, whether it is good or evil (564). If English teachers must analyze works and, furthermore, impart the skill of analysis to their students then teachers will be influencing their students, whether they realize it or not, with their worldview, since it s difficult for people to interpret a work without drawing from their own perspectives their worldview. History often intertwines with culture to give a more well rounded view of particular places and people. In the nineteenth century, nationalism began to take hold in Europe. While it might be common to think of nationalism in terms of revolt, nationalism also served as a unifying force through cultural elements, such as folklore. They must reach a compromise over the city of Jerusalem, showing it should be controlled by both peoples because of the joint history between them, the attitudes and expectations should try to be fulfilled, which would destroy the extremist movements on both sides of the conflict, but more importantly, it has to see a solution for the refugee crisis in this area of the world,... BrontГ« s use of the noun Remembrance as the title evokes that the speaker wishes to remember her lover, but wishes to forget the pain of their death. This notion was also explored by BrontГ« in her novella Wuthering Heights where the Lintons recollect [and] Earnshaws remember , reflected in the turmoil the Earnshaws face, which the Lintons do not. Many accounts believe that Ludwig s father was abusive in his lessons. So dedicated to improving Ludwig s musicianship, he would beat him or lock him in the cellar. Since these events took place when Beethoven was at such an impressionable age, it is hard to tell how much of his later obsession with music came from a love of the craft or from a drive instilled by his domineering father (Viegas 13). Regardless of his father s dominance, Beethoven s musical prodigy was very natural for him. This is proven by the fact that although his father encouraged him to play pre existing compositions, Beethoven composed his own.
