challenges. Firstly, identifying the most compelling and relevant subjects requires a

Once the topics are chosen, the difficulty lies in developing persuasive arguments that not only
support the writer's stance but also effectively sway the reader's perspective. Research becomes a
crucial aspect, demanding a thorough exploration of facts, statistics, and expert opinions to
strengthen the essay's credibility. The art of persuasion involves not only presenting evidence but
also employing rhetorical strategies to appeal to the emotions and logic of the audience.

What Is Self Driving Essay
Is self driving dangerous?
Self driving cars will cause many issues. Imagine If you were walking across the
street and you got run over by a self driving car. What If you were in one of these
cars and it stopped working, but you couldn t drive a normal car. Dangers like there
are why self driving cars should not be produced. Self driving cars will cause drivers
to not be experienced, gps systems can sometimes fail, and the cars cannot obey
basic traffic signs and laws, some people believe self driving cars are beneficial for
younger drivers, but this is not true. Self driving cars will cause many drivers to be
not experienced on how to drive a normal car, which can be a large problem in an
emergency. In fact, teens look forward to driving, and it is important that they are
safe. According to Total number of licensed drivers in the U.S. in 2016, by state, in
2016, 222 million people had licences. This proves that many people have licenses,
but that number will decrease significantly if many self driving cars are produced. In
October, the California Department of Motor Vehicles... Show more content on

In fact, because licences won t be needed, it will allow a large span of ages to
drive. According to Mark Phelan, self driving cars will be able to transport children
in the future. This could be very useful, however, imagine if a 5 year old could just
jump in a car and leave whenever they wanted without somebody stopping them
before they did something reclous or got lost. According to Jim Taylor, when he asks
a group of young people if they have made stupid decisions and if they will
continue to make stupid decisions, they all raised their hands. This shows that
children will make stupid decisions, and that won t change when they are in a self
driving car, as a result, in no way, should children be in cars by themselves, it is a
serious hazard and should be stopped before it is
The Persecution Of Christians In The 19th Century
During the last great persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire which was early
in the fourth century. The Christians were being persecuted and the Scriptures was
coming under scrutiny and they wanted them burned. The Roman officials were there
to see that these procedures were done. Today it is impossible to think of the
Christians faith without having the Bible. The words written in the Bible makes this
book special to Christians. Earlier Jews named the book to be plural, Biblia
meaning The Books now we hear it called the Bible means The Book. The Bible is
made up of sixty six books. There is an Old Testament (or Covenant) and a New
Testament. Early Christians believed that Jesusof Nazareth was God s promised

The Apostle Paul talked about the fruit of the Spirit and that the Spirit works in the
terms of the edification of the entire church. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (Gal. 5:22 23,

Origen is introduced in this chapter, when he was born and how he was against
philosophy from his work. Also, he talked about the quotation on Origen about the
creation. In the third century, Christianity was no longer a minor Jewish sect. It was
growing pretty fast to be dominant over the rival to the old ways of Rome. In the
third century, the most violent opponent of Christian reconciliation with Hellenic
philosophy was Tertullian.
At the turn of the third century, a persecution against Christians broke out in
Alexandria. Origen took over a school at the age of eighteen year olds. Origen came
from a Christian home. He traced man thrust for knowledge to the work of God. He
also sold his books to support his family, these books were considered to be secular

Lifting and moving loads manually is the biggest cause of injury, so it is important
to make use of any lifting equipment that is provided. A large number of personal
injury claims relate to breaches by employers of Manual Handling Regulations. It is
important when lifting for staff to be trained and to ensure that they use the right
method. If employees have any medical problems they should not be undertaking

Medieval Morality Plays Essay
Medieval Morality Plays Throughout time, there have been many books, plays,
songs, pamphlets, sermons, lectures, etc. written. These writings were all written
with some kind of purpose to either inform, persuade, entertain, or teach their
audience. One such form of literature not too widely known about is that of the
medieval morality plays. These plays were not aimed to entertain, but to teach
morals and religion to the uneducated lower classes of people in medieval Europe.
The morality plays were also quite necessary to teach and inform the underclass
people, through the thoughtful persuasion of play entertainment. Morality plays, as
said above, were most popular and most widely present in medieval times. They were

(1). There were many other cases when the characters of the morality plays were
not abstract qualities. These alternative roles were ones of angels, devils, priests,
doctors, fools (found usually in English writings), etc. (1). The morality plays
focused on the hero or main character, who #8217;s flaws were pointed out through
diabolic forces , but the hero did have the option to choose redemption and take
help from figures such as the four daughters of god. (1). One commonly used
subject of the morality plays was that of the seven deadly sins. (1). The setup of
the morality plays were actually quite simple. In the early development of the
plays they did not have much technical structure to them. (Warren 2) Later on, they
were usually played outdoors on moving scaffolds with the normal usage of props.
(1). When morality plays were first introduced, the were often shown with miracle
plays to get the audiences used to them and also to popularize them. (1). Until the
later period of the morality plays, they were performed by amateur actors who
relied wholly on public support. (Morality Play 1). When it comes to the plot
aspect of morality plays, there were four main story lines. The majority of the
morality play plots consisted of debates or conflicts. The three which did were the
debate of heavenly graces, the debate of soul and body, and the conflict of vices and
virtues.

Melanie dreams of her future husband and tends to have a very romantic image of
her future and at this time in her teenage years the most important thing to her is
that of falling in love, getting married and having sex. We can see that Melanie s life
is one of comfort and safety and she is able to fully indulge in her fantasies.
However it is at this point that we first begin to see the element of fantasy or magical
element encroach on to what can be seen as a typical setting. Melanie one night
indulging in her dreams decides to try on her mothers wedding dress and goes out
into the garden at night. She seems to be overcome with the whole image of herself
in the wedding dress and the dark night. She becomes overwhelmed with a felling of

frightened and alone and in a panic she rushes to go back indoors to safety however
she finds herself locked out. Melanie is forced into climbing the apple tree in order
to get back to her room, however the dress becomes caught and is destroyed. At this
stage in the novel we see that Melanie sees things
Australian Economy Challenges
The Australian economy faces significant challenges in ensuring that young people
are well integrated into the work force. Some of these challenges includes lowering
youth unemployment, improving access to work, or raising the skills of youth to
improve access to quality jobs. Every year a large number of young Australians aged
15 24 enter the labour market, with around 300,000 youth being currently
unemployed, which accounts for over a third of total unemployment. As well as this
many of the 160,000 young Australian who are not currently in employment,
education or training are not technically classified as unemployed as they are not
actively seeking a job. While data shows that the number of youth unemployed

Changes In My Neighbor Totoro
In the film My Neighbor Totoro, Satsuki and her family are going through a lot of
changes to their lives. One of these changes is that they moved to a new
neighborhood be closer to their mother (who is in the hospital). Everyone in the
family deals with this change differently. Satsuki s dad tries to adjust to being the
only parentin the house by spending more time at home with Mei, Satsuki s sister.
Mei deals with the changes by trying to spend all her time with Satsuki and playing
with creatures like the Totoros. Satsuki, on the other hand, cannot decide on one
specific way to deal with the changein her live. This causes issues throughout the film.
The Totoros and Granny eventually help her figure out how to deal with her mother
not being in her life by getting her to see the good/fun side of the situation. Satsuki
ends up seeing the Totoros when she needs their help the most.
Point 1: Plays with Mei. In the beginning of the movie the girls see these black
creatures around the house and do not know if they should be scared or not. They
first see them when they open up the kitchen doors. They ran to their dad to ask what
these creatures were. Granny ends up answering instead. The creatures were just soot

Analysis Of Two Dimensional Electrophoresis ( Ief )
TWO DIMENSIONAL ELECTROPHORESIS (IEF)
The different methods of separations of a mixture, to get one particular constitute of
the mixture are available now. The separation methods are based on the charge
present and on migration rate and on applied electric field are known as electro
kinetics methods. Many methods are available which are based on the electro kinetics
method. Methods like electrophoresis, isotachophoresis, isoelectric focusing and
related techniques are available for the separation the components from the mixture.
This separation of molecules depend upon the many parameters like temperature, pH,
ionic strength, viscosity, applied electric field, concentration of electrolyte, surface
charge, net charge of molecule etc. These parameters are very important for
separation.
Electrophoresis is the technique which monitors the charge of the molecule under the
electric field applied and separates the molecule by considering parameters like
electrophoretic mobility, charge, size of the molecule.
Isoelectric focusing requires constant electric charge with the different pH gradient
on the gel and due to this molecules get separated according to their isoelectric point.
Isotachophoresis uses different electric field with the combination of pH gradient for
the separation of the molecules or charged species.
п‚· Electrophoresis:
The basic principle of electrophoresis involves the separation and isolation of charged
molecules due to their differential migration in a buffer
Raphael s Accomplishments
The term Renaissance is French and means rebirth (Dictionary.com), it refers to the
restoration of education: the studies of the Latin and Greek classics, along with the
teachings of the Bible. It harmonized the two great sources of wisdom to teach people
how to live. The Renaissance was more than an intellectual movement; it was a
renewal of human spirit, curiosity, and creativity. It was an era when efficiency was
available for creating alluring things and thinking new, daring thoughts. It influenced
sculptures, architecture, and paintings. (Encyclopaedia Britannica) The Renaissance
man is an individual who shows interest and mastery in all areas of study.
(Dictionary.com) Raphael is considered a Renaissance man as a painter and architect.

He was best known for his Madonnas and vast variety of artistic styles. ... the
quality which impressed many of Raphael s contemporaries was the apparent
naturalness and spontaneity of his works. (The High Renaissance, 84) His ability to
make his art with ease and grace gave him his trademark. The works of
Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci heavily influenced him. Raphael worked and
lived in Florence alongside them. He was a Renaissance man because he mastered
all aspects of painting, which was the secret to his genius. Through the study of the
works of others, he would combine them with his own distinct style. His
inspirations were simply ideas for his own drawings and paintings. A tremendous
amount of influence for Raphael came from Leonardo Da Vinci. Upon his arrival
to Florence, Raphael became enticed by Leonardo s works and it was visible in his
own works of the time. The Madonnas reflected the ability to combine movements
of a group of figures within a triangular shape. The School of Athens is revered as
one of Raphael s greatest achievements and possibly the most supreme works of the
Renaissance Period. Here, Raphael illustrated his ability to depict a vast range of
human emotions and types. It has a cast of every age, type, and personalities with a
variety of gestures. He achieved his uniform variety with an assiduous process of
preparation. Raphael was able to display impeccable harmony throughout his art by
his broad capabilities in all forms of art to give him the title of a Renaissance man.

Kantian Ethics
One of the beautiful things about Kantian ethics is that it is based on the individual.
The individual can decide if their actions are worth doing to another person by
weighing if the person would want the action done to them. The Kantian point of
view is completely different from the Utilitarian point of view because the Kantian
point of view deals with the individual, whereas the Utilitarian point of view deals
with the group and the needs of the group. When you hear the words basic human
rightsor the word right, normally that responds to the individual, and rights in many
cases are from the Kantian viewpoint. For instance, when a police officer responds to
someone in need, they are responding from a Kantian viewpoint the... Show more

How does that define humanity as an end? The givers understand that takers have to
view them as equals; the takers must accept that givers provide the beauty and
acceptance that they need. Humanity is made up of people on both sides of the
argument and those in between. By using one person, a taker, in all actuality, forms a
dependent relationship on that person, or group of people, to provide for their needs.
A giver sustains a taker by continuously giving them what they need.
Kant said that nothing was good in itself except for a good will. By will he meant
the ability to act from principle; only when we act from a sense of duty does our act
have moral worth. We determine our duty by the categorical imperative. An example
of good will would be to use the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have
them do unto you. Kant uses this to say that a person s actions are reflected in their
actions toward another person. As a person intends to do good to another person, that
makes his effort fit within the categorical imperative. Kant believed that there was
one command that was binding on all rational agents the categorical imperative, that
says that we must always act so that the maxim of our action can be consistently
willed to be universal law. By maxim, Kant meant the principle or rule that people
formulate to determine their conduct. If a maxim could
The Equal Protection Clause Of The Fourteenth
Amendment
The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution was at
first created to protect against racial discrimination, but the Supreme Court later
expanded the clause to also providing equal treatment amongst different races. The
clause says, No state shall...deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal
protection of the laws (U.S. Constitution. Art./Amend. XIV, Sec. 1.) A person could
not be discriminated upon solely because of his or her race and if the law treated a
group of people differently, then a valid reason for the discrepancy of different
treatment must exist. Racial minorities, but mainly women, have historically been
subjected and made vulnerable to harsh restrictions on activities such as voting,
attending college, and working as lawyers. These restrictions, based on stereotypes
overlooked the actual capability and potential of each individual woman. For many
cases dealing with discriminationof women, the Court looked to another important
element of equal protection, which stated that unfair treatment couldn t be based on
immutable distinctions, such as race and gender, because those fixed distinctions
are uncontrollable and unrelated to ability. In the case of Frontiero v. Richardson,
411 U.S. 677 (1973), the Supreme Court was just one vote short of adopting gender
as a suspect classification. In United States v. Virginia, 518 U.S. 515 (1996), women
rights supporters were very pleased with the Supreme Court s ruling and remain
Swot Analysis Of Home Depot
Home Depot was one of the largest home improvement retailers of America with
over 2248 stores worldwide. It was founded by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank in
1978. Home Depot is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. For two decades after its
inception the company experienced rapid growth. But in the early 2000s the
company performance slowed down and Bob Nardelli was named the new CEO.
Earlier the company followed a decentralized organizational structure and that worked
well until 2000.
In early 1980s, the aim was to bring warehouse retailing concept to the home center
industry. This was considered to be the first successful company in Do it Yourself
(DIY) segment and was famous for providing high quality products with the low
prices. The Home depot was a part of large, rapidly growing and competitive home
improvement industry during 1980 s. With two wage earners in each household,
families were willing to spend more money on home improvement projects.
Therefore, the DIY segment grew rapidly and the industry attached many
competitors to give tough competitions to each others. In early 1990, Lowe s
became the largest competitor of Home depot as the sales and growth were at the
top for Lowe s stores which took Lowe to large format warehouse stores.
Basis of Recommendation:
The success of the first three stores in 1979 encouraged the company to expand its
business rapidly and reach the 50th store opening by the fiscal year 1985. Due to
rapid expansion, the sales grew from $40
The Case Of Jack And Samantha
In the case regarding Jack, Samantha and Nicole, there are many different factors
that appear regarding Jack and Samantha appealing their convictions. After
reviewing the case, it states that Jack had often taken his anger out on Samantha s
daughter, Nicole. Nicole had been hospitalized on six different occasions for
different injuries that were caused by Jack. While all this had been going on,
Samantha was aware of it. She was aware of the abuse that her daughter suffered
by Jack and did nothing about it. The fact that Samantha knew that Jack was
abusing Nicole and did nothing about it was what I would considered the leading
factor to the courts decision to convict her of knowingly endangering the welfare
of a minor. Nicole did exactly that, she was a parent that was supervising the
welfare of a child under the age of 18 years old and knew that someone was
endangering her child s welfare. Nicole did not care, protect or support her
daughter in the situations that occurred with Jack instead he just turned her head
and looked the other way. While studying the case more indept we learned that the
reason Nicole did not fight back and defend her child was because of fear that if
she left Jack he would severely hurt Nicole. Although Jack had only beaten
Samantha once she still lived in fear of what he would do to her if she ever spoke
up. One night however things took a turn for the worse, Samantha was working and
Jack began attacking Nicole. While trying to get away from Jack,
Boggy Acre And A Narrow Fellow In The Grass
Patriarchy dominated in the nineteenth century and women were considered to be the
property of their husbands, without rights, land, or even the option to choose how to
live their lives. The editor of The Heath Anthology of American Literature, Paul
Lauter explained that during the early nineteenth century, white middle classed
women had more leisure and education than their mothers or grandmothers which
enabled them to become a large audience; nevertheless, their opportunities for
meaningful work apart from childbearing, their ability to control their own property
or even their own persons had probably narrowed since the Revolution (Lauter 1460).
White women became more educated but remained inferior to men at this point in
history. Lauter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jacobs bravely tells her story about escaping slavery with her children. She was the
first writer to show the grisly details of slavery and discuss sexual abuse. Jacobs
criticizes herself for getting pregnant to get out of the sexual abusive relationship of
her slave owner by saying I felt as if I was forsaken by God and man; as if all my
efforts must be frustrated; and I became reckless in my despair (Jacobs 2194). Jacobs
had to hide for almost seven years in her grandmother s attic in attempt to gain her
and her children s freedom from their former slave owners (Yellin 2185). In 1852,
Mrs. Willis, a family friend, bought Jacobs freedom, for which Jacobs felt I was
robbed of my victory because she considered herself a person, unable to be bought or
sold (Yellin 2185). Harriet Ann Jacobs publishes her story to open people s eyes to
what slavery really was.
Harriet Ann Jacobs helped start a movement of anti slavery writing that, through
literature, would eventually help change society s view of slavery. Jacobs Incidents
was written for an audience of free white women and its purpose was to involve
these women in political action against the institution of chattel slavery and the
ideology of white racism confirming herself as an anti slavery writer using a fictional
character and different voice to tell truth (Yellin
Slavery In Cincinnati
Cincinnati is a beautiful city on the Ohio River in southern Ohio that has a very
rich history. The city was founded in 1788 and soon blossomed into a thriving city.
One important part of Cincinnati s history was its involvement in the underground
railroad and abolitionists. Based on the Ohio River it posed as a perfect place to
cross on the way to freedom. It also was close to the border with the south during the
civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states
during the war. Cincinnati was a important part of the underground railroad,
abolitionist movements, and the fight to end slavery. The underground railroad was

One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the
Cincinnati Riots of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked
the competition they received from the African American community in the area.
Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get them to leave the area,
leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left, while
others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in
1836, this time attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery
newspaper. A mob destroyed the press, throwing it out into the streets in attempt to
deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish his newspaper. The Ohio
river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the jordan
river by conductors and passengers. It was common to talk in code using biblical
names on the railroad and among conductors, such as calling Canada the promised
land . One famous house that was a station on the underground railroad based on the

Literary Criticism Of Dracula
A horror classic by Abraham Stocker, Dracula, may be one of the most notorious
villain stories of all time. Bram Stocker is a Irish writer who changed the view of
what to read in his time. He shows dark and twisted situations and metaphors
throughout Dracula and many other of his horror novels. This novel was released
in the Victorian era, which saw his type of writing as equivalent to the devil. This
era was a long time of peace and bright minded people. Stockers style surprised
many readers, because he always has you thinking it can t get any darker than it is
but it always exceeds the previous twisted situation or event. Bram Stocker shows
Draculaas an iconic creature, with many reasons to be feared, but displayed in the
wrong time era. Sstoker had brought something new to the table, horror fiction, not
a popular subjects in the Victorian era, but were enjoyed among the
French(Brackett). Stokers union of sexuality and violence is endemic among us,
which is why you sent a great writer(Bloom). A reason why Sstoker writes about
violence may be due to the frustrations of his own marriage(Bloom), he and his
wife had their up s and downs but eventually only saw down. Maybe if it wasn t for
his marriage, Dracula wouldn t be welcome to the modern reader as one of the
most frightening tales there is to be. The novel is a classic story of good v. evil. The
author took many years and hard research to conjure up a literary masterpiece like
Dracula(Burt). A unique type of
Essay on The Social Dynamics of the Police Use of Force
When it comes to the criminal justice system, legal rulings only provide a
systematic method of dealing with the problem of crime and, especially, the
problem surrounding the police use of force. In Graham vs. Conner, for example,
the courts established the four factor test to evaluate police use of excessive force

Since the court system is unable to intervene in cases involving officer and citizen
social relations, and since they have proved to be easily politically manipulated by
lawyers and monetary bail, the police institution and its selection process must be
examined and evaluated in order to address the social dilemma of the police use of
force.
The political and social elite can manipulate the legal system easily. Oftentimes,
punishments ruled by the court consist of monetary penalization or bail. Thus it is
easy for those high up on the social ladder to escape the consequences of illegal
actions. However, for those that come from poorer socioeconomic backgrounds,
and who make us a majority of arrests, bail is rarely an option they end up serving
their full time in the jail cell (Metchik, 82). This makes the rebellious attitudes
toward law enforcement and resistance of arrest more prominent among these
proletariat groups. For either they try to resist going to jail with a small hope of
getting away or at least being handcuffed after putting up a fight, or they go quietly
with little hope for the courts to show mercy and face the entire severity of their
punishment. Due to this brute reality, many individuals find it better to resist
subjection to the police than quietly accept the fate they will likely face in the courts.
This resistance compels officers to use force in order to complete an arrest.

Citron And Cobalt Tower By Dale Chhuly
Dale Chihuly is an American glass blower (Dale Patrick Chihuly, 2015). The piece
of art I ll mainly be looking at is Citron and Cobalt Tower. This piece was located
directly in the center of the museum as soon as you walked in to the show room. It
caught my eye and I knew immediately what I wanted to do my paper on. Citron
and Cobalt Tower was first introduced in 2004 (Art and Biology in the Citron and
Cobalt Tower by Dale Chihuly, n.d). It s twenty feet tall and around it is around 6

Student Sexual Misconduct And Sexual Harassment
Teacher student sexual misconduct cases are on the rise nationwide. There has been
less attention and emphasis on these issues. This paper will focus on the ethical
issues and any involvements surrounding sexual misconducts and sexual harassment
between teachers and students. This paper will define knowledge and an
understanding on what constitutes a sexual misconduct and sexual harassment. This
paper will enlighten the ethical concerns about teacher student sexual misconduct and
sexual harassment. This paper will also focus on the persuasiveness of misconducts in
the educationfield and identify which ethical standards that will and should be of
assistance as a path for teachers as well as students. This paper will establish ways
to avoid and prevent sexual misconduct. The main issues of the journals and articles
that I have chosen is how sexual harassment and sexual misconduct can possibly
occur, how sexual misconduct and sexual harassment has been a problem of
enormous or inappropriate intimacy between teachers and students. This paper will
also identify what a person should do if they have experienced sexual harassment and
sexual misconduct. This paper will provide ways how to identify and prevent way of
sexual misconduct and sexual harassment in the school systems.
According to Standard 3.02 Sexual Harassment, psychologists do not engage in
sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as sexual solicitation, physical

Healthcare Information System Analysis
An information system is a network of hardware and software apparatuses, which
organization uses to process, collect, and create and distribute data. Information
systems are a critical component of successful businesses today. Businesses rely on
the use of technology for daily functions, processes, and procedures. The use of

Distributing the greatest electronic health record experience to clinicians is essential
to their production, fulfilment, and capability to distribute high quality results and
patient care. Cerner Advance provides organizations the control over the clinician
experience by bringing together innovative tools, professional analysis, and an
organized, repeatable process (Cerner, 2016). In supporting the purpose, mission,
and business strategy of MLH, the company has adopted and utilizes the Cerner

which monitors performance, collects, and provides data that can be used to
promote best practices and identify users of who require additional training. This
system will provide information to the leaders which will help them identify which
clinicians is meeting organizational goals and compliance standards. Cerner Advance
aids in identifying which clinicians require additional attention by comparing their
efficiency to other specialists locally and nationally. It creates individual action
plans that can be used during intervention or one on one training sessions (Cerner,

The Negative Effects Of The Perfect Body And Obesity
From the topics of the perfect body and obesity in American society, corporations
and dieting programs have developed ways to generate profits from people who are

strategies have come straightforward to regard any image of fat as unattractive and
undesirable in order to push products such as slimming pills, dietary books, and

Furthermore, these advertisements have been made in way that the viewer is able to
order their product without any hassle of leaving their homes. Tele marketing was
created in order to suit towards consumers who are living a heavily sedentary life

products and presenting them in this way, those with cellular devices or access to a
computer are able to buy their desired item without having to move outside of their

the issue comes from the fact that the consumer is not improving their overall health
by remaining inside their house and using these products that have minimum effects
on an inactive body. In this case, it will become a win lose situation with the
corporation being able to profit off of this type of consumers and the consumer not
being able to receive the results that they desire for after viewing the advertisements

advertisements spend more time on emphasizing the image of an active and attractive

Theme And Meaning Of Peter Pan
Theme and Meaning Peter Pan is a timeless tale in which transcends time and
culture through its underlying themes. Each of the characters fulfilled their roles
tremendously, and was able to bring forth these themes in their own unique ways.
The most apparent, from the beginning, is the emphasis of youthfulness. Peter is
the main embodiment of this theme, given he does not physically age. From the
beginning, his role was that to entice Wendy and her siblings to journey with him
to Never never land. What this magical place represents is a state of remaining
youthful forever, and not letting society conform one s beliefs. The concept of age
is masked by Peter s stubbornness to not conform to such. For example, Wendy
wants to get married and have kids one day; Peter does not. Wendy wants this
because she is taught from a young age that this is a common normality of life.
Peter refusing to stay at the house with the other lost boys, in the end, showed that
such normality does not have to be one s choice. This theme was conveyed by the
play being both a comedy and a musical. These two forms of drama brought with it
both wittiness and purity, both of which are a direct correlation youthfulness. And the
character s ability to sing with clarity helped boost such a message. The role such
clarity played is relevant to American culture, today. In order for people to listen, in a
society with so much information, a message must be clear and transparent. Although
it is not necessary
Ganglioside Research Paper
Gangliosides (GM) are glycosphingolipids with complex structures that are found
within cellular membranes. They are most abundant in the nervous system with
many important functions such as serving as the structural components of
biomembranes, mediators in signal transductions, and playing a role in cell to cell
recognition. While the presence of gangliosides is vital to cellular function,
ganglisoide degradation is necessary to prevent a buildup of lipids. The excess
presence of gangliosides in the cell ultimately causes apoptosis. There are several
different classifications of gangliosides, however, a buildup of lipids resulting from

Errors involving ganglioside metabolism heavily impact the central nervous system
due to the presence of a higher concentration of gangliosides. TSD is specifically
caused by a mutation in the HEXA gene encoding the О± subunit of ОІ

from the cellular membrane to the lysosome for degradation, but is unable to process
it further since the О± subunit of ОІ hexosaminidase A cannot cleave the terminal N

Social Policy And The Access Of The Judiciary System
What is Social Policy and the link to the Judiciary system
Social policy aims to improve human welfare and to meet human needs. Important
areas of social policy are wellbeing and welfare, unemployment insurance, pensions,
the NHS, social housing, family policy, social care, child protection, crime and
criminal justice and labour issues. It was said problems of children who were
deprived or abused have been connected closely with issues concerning young
offenders (Spicker.uk, 2015).This statement involves various roles from
professionals in the judiciary system. Under the Children s Act 1998 the local
authority s functions where to provide services which support children and their
families (Anon, 2015). Social workers would have had involvement during the
individual s young life and have already taken action in order to prevent the abuse
therefore preventing young offenders. In turn victim support would support the
individual if they are required in a court setting; they will advise if they are feeling
worried, nervous or afraid. If an individual becomes a young offender the Youth
offending teams within the court support them by; staying in touch with a young
person if they re sentenced in custody, charged with a crime and has to go to court or
if a young person is arrested. The youth offending team work closely with the
probation services (Gov.uk, 2015).

The Internal and External Conflicts of Willy Loman Essay
Individuals explore their responses to conditions of internal and external conflicts
throughout literature. Going in depth to a character allows the reader to better
understand that character s internal and external conflicts. Arthur Miller uses this
technique in several of his plays, including Death of a Salesman. Miller portrays the
character of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesmanthrough his internal and external
conflicts. The internal conflictbegins with Willy s expectations for his sons and The
Woman. Willy struggles throughout the play with having extremely high
expectations for his sons, Happy and Biff. Happy and Willy get along well because
they are most alike of the two sons. Happy has the same materialistic mindset as...

The reader can see this when The Woman says, I ll put you right through to the
buyers, (Miller 39). Thus, Willy has multiple expectations for his sons and The
Woman. The internal conflict continues with Willy s dreams. The beginning of the
play tells us that it is about dreams (Eisinger 2). Willy dreams of the American
dream and family dreams. Willy characterizes the American dream as success, which
creates conflict within himself. Willy longs for the dream so much that he focuses
solely on achieving this goal that he loses desire for anything less. Willy interprets
his desire for success when he defines Dave Singleton:
And he was eighty four years old and he d drummed merchandise in thirty one
states. And old Dave he d go up to his room, y understand, put on his green velvet
slippers I ll never forget and pick up his phone and call the buyers, and without ever
leaving his room at the age of eighty four, he made his living. And when I saw that, I
realized that selling was the greatest career a man could want. (Miller 81)
Dave Singleton is a model for Willy because he shows that a salesman can be
remembered, loved, and helped in many different places in the country (Eisinger 4).
The success of Dave is the American dream that Willy desires. The American dream
of having everything one wants.
Because Willy wants this corrupt dream so much, he longs for his family to have the
same dream. Happy does however,
Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay
Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost
as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions
surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of
ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be
regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire
to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic
tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in
Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the
Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the
Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s
to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need
to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in
a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through
theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in
the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war.
Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also
have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the
country in chaotic ruins after the war. This essay will refer to numerous contemporary
Reasons Of Phillips And Matsushita
There are several reasons why Phillips and Matsushita chose to operate
internationally. For Phillips, it was due to the small size of their home in Holland.
The company was forced to seek aboard for larger places to mass produce. After
they hired an export manager, they were on their way to selling to the diverse
markets of Japan, Canada, Brazil, and Russia. Soon after, the Phillip s industry had
to build more organizations in the United States, Canada, and France because they
were over their capacity. As for Matsushita, during the post war, they presented a
broad line of new products, therefore they needed to seek a bigger sales volume.
They opened several domestic outlets and forty percent of them went to Japan. This
not only would fix the sales volume issue but also would give them access to the
latest market trends. They then looked to export more markets after the growth
slowed though the best they could do was an exchange and license contract with
Phillips because American companies were unwilling to work together. Matsushita
resorted to working with mass merchandisers under a private brand which then
pushed them to open plants in Asia, and South America and later assembled
operations in all the Americas, Europe and in Wales. Phillips and Matsushita have
followed different international strategies and have had substantial skills and
downfalls. Phillips followed the localization strategy with great self sufficient

Comparing Wallace And Montaigne
American poet, Ralph Emerson once said that the importance of life is not length
of life, but depth of life meaning that life is not measured by how long we live on
this Earth but rather what we do with the time that we have on this Earth (
Ralph...Emerson. ). The quote by Emerson is very similar to the ideology of French
Renaissance philosopher Michel de Montaigne. Although the two men were from
two different times, like Emerson, Montaigne also preached that life need not be
measured by length but rather by use. No man knows when he is going to die
therefore we need not concentrate on our death but rather we need to concentrate on
the time we have living and achieve and accomplish as much as we can with the time
we are granted. A great example... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When talking about Montaigne s ideology and the rock genre, the two names that
come to mind are that of Kurt Cobain (lead singer of Nirvana) and Jim Morrison
(lead singer of the Doors). Like Wallace and Shukar, Morrison and Cobain also had
short lived lives, each of the two men passing away at the age of 27 ( Jim Morrison
). However, similar to Wallace and Shukar, neither of the two rock legends allowed
their short time on this Earth to affect the great impact that they had made. Although
Morrison put out more records than that of Cobain (Morrison: 9, Cobain: 3) both
man were able to achieve platinum status on numerous albums, including one
diamond status album by Cobain( Kurt Cobain ). In addition to having, platinum
and diamond status albums both men have appeared on numerous lists proclaiming
each of the two as some of the greatest musicians to live. During each of the two
men s short careers each of the two were able to accomplish so much and achieve
many awards such as for Cobain: America s music awards favorite hard rock band,
BRIT Awards best international group and numerous others ( Kurt Cobain ). In
addition, for Morrison: Grammy lifetime achievement award, Grammy hall of Fame
award, and numerous others ( Jim Morrison ). Although the two rock legends
unfortunately had to leave this Earth so soon their music continues to live on and

Aristotle And Heidegger s Theories About Ethics
Aristotle and Heidegger have contrasting theories about ethics. As Heidegger wrote
his theories two thousand years later, it comes to question, is Heidegger is just
contrasting Aristotle because as later stated it is hard to achieve both theories at the
same time. Aristotle main points are trying to pursue excellence with reason and
Heidegger compares one s authentic self and inauthentic self. This paper is discussing
each philosophical theory pertaining to ethics and how these two philosophers relate
to each other.
The Aristotle book Nicomachean Ethics goes deep in understanding of excellence and
virtues and what humans strive to the highest good and pursue a life of
gratification. Specifically, Aristotle makes a distinction between pursuing ends to a
mean. As Schwab (2016, April 26) states, To be worthy of choice requires that
something either be an end, or serve an end. He then discusses that we decide what
we care about about is meaningful to us individually but overall makes us happy. For
example, Aristotle states, Hence its end will include the ends of the other sciences,
and so will be the human good. (Aristotle, 1094b5) Two ways of pursuing this is
through good means and good ends. Although, the end might not always be what the
original thought of it was. It might only be a stepping stone to reach the ultimate goal.
As humans, we are always trying for the good that is superior than the rest. For
example, pursuing an end to get a college education. That might

For example, to find out how much the company Operating revenue has increase
since 2013 the consultant would have to take the amount of Revenue the company
made in 2015 which was $153,324,384 and divide by the amount the company had
in 2013 $ 142,931,312. After doing the calculation the consultant would have got a
ratio of 104.4% of the increase in 2015 since 2013. After that to find the percent of
increase in 2014 which was $153,193,953 then the individual would divide by the
base amount from 2013 $146,824,45 and there would have been a 104.3%

will show how much the Port makes a year, even though they are under contraction
trying to expand their Port. This information would see if the Port is losing
business because of the projects that they are doing on their Port or not. Also,
while doing the Horizontal analyses the advisor should include the Ratio of

spend money to complete their Projects. To be able to receive this ratio the
individual would take the amount of expenses from both 2015 and 2015 and divide

Examples Of Cognitive Bias
As Kahneman and Tversky investigated availability bias, it is considered a
cognitive bias of a person, which makes people overestimate events probabilities
associated with dramatic circumstances. In fact, a cognitive bias is an example of
judgment deviation, which may occur in separate situations. Media on societal level
usually cover all the memorable events and failures. Therefore, a cognitive bias is
explained as a mistake in judgement, which could be caused mostly by experience.
As a result, individual expectations, experiences, and biases may influence the way
that people view probability of financial events or failures. It is possible to understand
that human thinking is impacted by the most important things in life for a person. Fear
Pilgrimages In The Odyssey
Throughout this semester we have explored a variety of cultures and the recurring
theme of pilgrimages and the storytelling of these pilgrimages. While every journey
is not the same, each of the pilgrimages has a lesson that can be learned. Two of the
main pilgrimages that we explored were, Homer s Odyssey, and Dante s Inferno,
both of which have a strong lesson about fate, but explore the topic in very different
ways. In Homer s Odyssey the story starts ten years after the Trojan War, where we
find Odysseuswho is the last Greek hero to not return to Ithaca. The story starts in
the middle of Odysseus journey home. He finds himself imprisoned by Calypso, a
goddess, who wants to marry Odysseus. There is then a meeting of the gods,
without Calypso of course, where Athena s voiced her support in Odysseus making
it home. The gods agree with Athena and Hermes delivers the news to Calypso, that
she must let Odysseus return to Ithaca. Calypso attempts to get Odysseus to stay by
saying But if you only knew, down deep, what pains are fated to fill your cup before
you reach that shore, you d stay right here, preside in our house with me and be...

But then, when the happy gods bring on the long hard times, bear them he must,
against his will, and steel his heart (Book 18). Odyssey keeps finding himself in
situations of conflict throughout the whole book, but with the help of the gods
/goddesses he is able to make it back to Ithaca. While Odysseus journey was
extremely difficult and extensive, he eventually makes it to his fate, with the help
of the gods. The way fate is seen in Greek culture, it is believed that no matter what
you do, you will always reach your fate, and while the gods can help you get there,
we see that if you misuse the tools and help that the gods provide, it will only cause
the journey to your fate to be longer and harder than

Kantianism And Altruism
Charity. Philanthropy. Altruism. These three words ultimately point to the single,
ultimate goal: to help . In fact, charitable giving is the act of donating money to a
certain cause, so that more people are helped overall. However, many organizations,
such as the federal government, offer tax reductions while other organizations offer
other perks for charitable giving. Some see incentives to charityas demeaning the
virtueof selfless giving, yet these critics lose sight of the actual goal of charity: to
help other people in its cause. Charity is not to allow people to think that they are
more moral, but it s for the people instead. Incentivising charitable giving is not
only just, but it is also warranted for the final goal of assisting as many people as
possible. From my observations, I first look towards the increasing socioeconomic
gap between the upper and the lower class. Indeed, many wealthy people such as Bill

In fact, incentivizing charity is morally sound in the two most major moral
frameworks of Kantianism and Utilitarianism. First, Jeremy Bentham wrote many
papers describing the philosophy of utility, where an action is just if it does the
most good to the most amount of people. In bringing incentives, we not only help
more people for a cause, but we can all many who want to give charitably a chance
to do so by offsetting the cost. Under Kantianism, Immanuel Kant also states that
although charitable giving is itself virtuous, no one has a full obligation to another
human being. Beliweving so would then follow a radical, Marxist social argument.
Essentially, giving a reward to a person who gives up his or her own belongings
which was unobligated to be given in the first place is just in an of itself. In these
two, usually opposing moral frameworks, incentivizing charity is both just in each

replacement as evident by previous randomized clinical trials, then equal dosing
would exist. 99.5% of hospitals experience pharmaceutical drug shortages as stated by
the American Hospital Association. Unpredictable access to reliable substitutes not
only puts the patient s life at risk but also puts a weight on caregivers and healthcare

One of the main roles of an RN is advocating for ideal patient care. In fact,
according to McKeever, Bloch, Bratic (2013), one of the most significant ways to
communicate concerns about patient care and about drug shortages is getting the
message out to the appropriate individuals. Nurses should remain mindful of topics
associated with pharmaceutical drug shortages, and how it affects patient care
directly. Those worries can be conveyed at the policy level, as nurses can be strong
advocates for preventing drug shortages. Nurses can also voice stories told by
affected patients to policy makers and reporters. Also, collaborate efforts between
nurse and patients could consist of calling legislators, the local newspapers and the
FDA. More importantly nurses could use national organizations as an channel to
spread the awareness and issue of drug shortages. Finally, nurses play a vital role in
the healthcare team, and must exercise the ability to take charge and apply
dependable, efficient protocols for the improvement of patient

Whether you know it or not, there is a great underground debate about which mom is
the best and which is the best for the kids. Are working moms better than stay at
home moms? Or vice versa?
I ve always been a working mom but there have been many moments that I wanted
to just be a stay at home mom; Ahhh, the simplicity! The way I figure it, it would
make my life much easier because I do everything a stay at home mom does plus I
work. So wouldn t it be much easier to just be a stay at home mom? I would have
plenty of time to get groceries, housework, fill out the required 500 pages of
daycare and school forms, meal planning and preparation...heck, I would even have
time to make homemade bread if I wanted to! Or at the very least a homemade meal
rather than the ever delicious hamburger helper or cereal for dinner.
Just when I m wishing I were a stay at home mom the weekend starts and I have two
full glorious days with my children. Throughout the course of the weekend I have
been asked, mom, will you wipe my butt on approximately
A Summary On Getting Around A Car
Summary
Getting around is important for people who have plans set out for the day and have
to get someone at a specific time. And today there are a few ways for a person to get
around want using a car, bus, or train. Some people choose to use the taxi service
Uber if they need a quick ride or are out of a car. Uber is a taxi service that allows a
person to use their application to hail a ride. Using the application, a person can
choose who they want to drive them and see how long it will take for the driver to
pick them up.
Compared to people using buses, trains, or older taxi services to get to where they
need to be using Uber has a better chance. Uber uses real time within their
application so their customers can see where the driver ... Show more content on

When it comes to transportation quick, easy, and cheap, Uber is the choice. The
Uber application is a transportation service that stands out among the rest. What
makes Uber stands out is that it is cheaper, able to help those with disabilities, has
helped with reducing drunk driving incidents, has GPS, and helped with amber
alters. Uber has the safety what is needed for transportation and helps with safety.
In this day and age, people worry about their safety and transportation is where
someone and their belongings are vulnerable. With Uber, people and their
belongings are more secure in getting to their destination at a cheap price. Uber is
usable for anyone with a phone to use is some people top choice to use for a ride.
Previous Approaches
Transportation services that are being used are standard taxi services, buses, and
trains. The two problems with common taxi services are the cost and security. Taxi
services prices are more expensive and if someone is looking to save up money that
is not that way to go. There are also cases of taxi drivers assaulting customers, often
lone women.
The downside of using buses and trains would be a lack of privacy, little personal
security, chances of theft, and chances of racial or sexual harassment. With so many
people sharing a confined space, no one has privacy on a bus or train. If anyone want
to harm someone then a bus or train provides an easy setting. A lot of theft and
robbery also take place on moving
Emotional Intelligence And Social Pressures
Emotional intelligence exposes an individual s ability to regulate their emotions, in
an attempt to acknowledge their partner s perspective and convey intimacy and
commitment in their relationship. In the framework of marriage, I do agree with the
author that emotional intelligence may exist as the glue that holds a marriage
together, as individuals must retain an aptitude to illustrate compassion and empathy
with their partner. According to the text, evidence of a steady erosion of social
pressures the stigma surrounding divorce, or the economic dependence on wives on
their husbands that used to keep couples together in even the most miserable of
matches surfaces (Goleman, 2005, p. 129). Due to societal deviations, couples no
longer uncover themselves in an obligation to continue their marriages when
confronting undesirable situations. Because obligations no longer keep couples
together, emotional intelligenceimportance amplified. The general challenge with
marital emotional intelligence subsists as genderdifferences. In fact, emotional
differences, while they may be partly biological, also can be traced back to
childhood, and to the separate emotional worlds boys and girls inhabit while growing
up (Goleman, 2005, p. 130). Due to the dissimilarity in childhood worlds, I agree with
the author that we need to make a point of talking to boys, in particular, about
emotional intelligence. Originating in elementary school, society articulates that
males must conceal
The Importance Of Authoritarian Government In South
Korea
Within the last few decades, the internal affairs in South Korea have been anything
but smooth. The public demand for a democratic future is prevalent, but it is
unquestionable that the authoritarian leaders and government have had a larger
impact that any democratic ones. The strong hand of leaders like Syngman Rheeand
Park Chung hee allowed South Koreato persevere through difficult times and explode
onto the international market. The measures leaders in the 60s, 70s, and 80s took to
get Korea to the position of wealth it reached have had some dire consequences that
are still felt today. There is no sign of stopping either, as the country has been
preoccupied with many other issues and has had democracy thrust upon them, leaving
many flaws in the system. The power vacuums, unbalanced social structure, and
violent riots have been constant effects brought on by the rise and fall of South Korea
s authoritarian past. This instability and volatile nature of modern South Korean
government and society is the most well defined and over arching theme caused by
authoritarian policies and decisions
Shorty after Korea declared its independence Syngman Rhee was elected their first
president by a wide margin. However, once he began creating legislation to extend
his presidency and silencing his opposition, it was clear that his rule would be an
authoritarian one. After the April Revolution, a clear precedent was set for
government civilian interaction in Korea. struggle between
Third Reich Dbq
The Third Reich is known as one of the worst time periods in history because of
strict political, social and economical conditions in Germany. The Third Reich
existed from January 30, 1933, to May 8, 1945, and Adolf Hitler was the leader
during that time. His political policy during The Third Reich was, He who can
conquer the street can also conquer the masses; he who has conquered the masses
has thereby conquered the state (Herzstein 46). Hitler controlled the masses by
planning to invade other countries so he could conquer them; he also captivated the
masses by using his great public speaking skills. A social goal that Hitler had gone
to many lengths to attain was to build a perfect nation. In Hitler s point of view if

Hitler had many beliefs, that weren t right, and many people suffered from his
decisions. Hitler was an awful dictator and goes down in History as on of the worst
men to ever exist. When Hitler died, in 1945, the Reich died with him and so did
the torture concentration camps, and vicious stereotypes. Some people who
survived the Reich, are lucky enough to tell their stories today, others aren t so
lucky. Even though The Third Reich is over the world is still healing from it and
the victims of this awful torture will always be in our hearts, and we still keep the
memories of one of the worst periods in history, The Third

  • 2. What Is Self Driving Essay Is self driving dangerous? Self driving cars will cause many issues. Imagine If you were walking across the street and you got run over by a self driving car. What If you were in one of these cars and it stopped working, but you couldn t drive a normal car. Dangers like there are why self driving cars should not be produced. Self driving cars will cause drivers to not be experienced, gps systems can sometimes fail, and the cars cannot obey basic traffic signs and laws, some people believe self driving cars are beneficial for younger drivers, but this is not true. Self driving cars will cause many drivers to be not experienced on how to drive a normal car, which can be a large problem in an emergency. In fact, teens look forward to driving, and it is important that they are safe. According to Total number of licensed drivers in the U.S. in 2016, by state, in 2016, 222 million people had licences. This proves that many people have licenses, but that number will decrease significantly if many self driving cars are produced. In October, the California Department of Motor Vehicles... According to Mark Phelan, self driving cars will be able to transport children in the future. This could be very useful, however, imagine if a 5 year old could just jump in a car and leave whenever they wanted without somebody stopping them before they did something reclous or got lost. According to Jim Taylor, when he asks a group of young people if they have made stupid decisions and if they will continue to make stupid decisions, they all raised their hands. This shows that children will make stupid decisions, and that won t change when they are in a self driving car, as a result, in no way, should children be in cars by themselves, it is a serious hazard and should be stopped before it is

Analysis Of Two Dimensional Electrophoresis ( Ief ) TWO DIMENSIONAL ELECTROPHORESIS (IEF) The different methods of separations of a mixture, to get one particular constitute of the mixture are available now. The separation methods are based on the charge present and on migration rate and on applied electric field are known as electro kinetics methods. Many methods are available which are based on the electro kinetics method. Methods like electrophoresis, isotachophoresis, isoelectric focusing and related techniques are available for the separation the components from the mixture. This separation of molecules depend upon the many parameters like temperature, pH, ionic strength, viscosity, applied electric field, concentration of electrolyte, surface charge, net charge of molecule etc. These parameters are very important for separation. Electrophoresis is the technique which monitors the charge of the molecule under the electric field applied and separates the molecule by considering parameters like electrophoretic mobility, charge, size of the molecule. Isoelectric focusing requires constant electric charge with the different pH gradient on the gel and due to this molecules get separated according to their isoelectric point. Isotachophoresis uses different electric field with the combination of pH gradient for the separation of the molecules or charged species. п‚· Electrophoresis: The basic principle of electrophoresis involves the separation and isolation of charged molecules due to their differential migration in a buffer

Raphael s Accomplishments The term Renaissance is French and means rebirth (Dictionary.com), it refers to the restoration of education: the studies of the Latin and Greek classics, along with the teachings of the Bible. It harmonized the two great sources of wisdom to teach people how to live. The Renaissance was more than an intellectual movement; it was a renewal of human spirit, curiosity, and creativity. It was an era when efficiency was available for creating alluring things and thinking new, daring thoughts. It influenced sculptures, architecture, and paintings. Raphael worked and lived in Florence alongside them. He was a Renaissance man because he mastered all aspects of painting, which was the secret to his genius. Through the study of the works of others, he would combine them with his own distinct style. His inspirations were simply ideas for his own drawings and paintings. A tremendous amount of influence for Raphael came from Leonardo Da Vinci. Upon his arrival to Florence, Raphael became enticed by Leonardo s works and it was visible in his own works of the time. The Madonnas reflected the ability to combine movements of a group of figures within a triangular shape. The School of Athens is revered as one of Raphael s greatest achievements and possibly the most supreme works of the Renaissance Period. Here, Raphael illustrated his ability to depict a vast range of human emotions and types. It has a cast of every age, type, and personalities with a variety of gestures. He achieved his uniform variety with an assiduous process of preparation. • 13. Kantian Ethics One of the beautiful things about Kantian ethics is that it is based on the individual. The individual can decide if their actions are worth doing to another person by weighing if the person would want the action done to them. The Kantian point of view is completely different from the Utilitarian point of view because the Kantian point of view deals with the individual, whereas the Utilitarian point of view deals with the group and the needs of the group. When you hear the words basic human rightsor the word right, normally that responds to the individual, and rights in many cases are from the Kantian viewpoint. The givers understand that takers have to view them as equals; the takers must accept that givers provide the beauty and acceptance that they need. Humanity is made up of people on both sides of the argument and those in between. By using one person, a taker, in all actuality, forms a dependent relationship on that person, or group of people, to provide for their needs. A giver sustains a taker by continuously giving them what they need. Kant said that nothing was good in itself except for a good will. By will he meant the ability to act from principle; only when we act from a sense of duty does our act have moral worth. We determine our duty by the categorical imperative. An example of good will would be to use the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Kant uses this to say that a person s actions are reflected in their actions toward another person. As a person intends to do good to another person, that makes his effort fit within the categorical imperative. Kant believed that there was one command that was binding on all rational agents the categorical imperative, that says that we must always act so that the maxim of our action can be consistently willed to be universal law. By maxim, Kant meant the principle or rule that people formulate to determine their conduct. If a maxim could
  • 14. The Equal Protection Clause Of The Fourteenth Amendment The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution was at first created to protect against racial discrimination, but the Supreme Court later expanded the clause to also providing equal treatment amongst different races. The clause says, No state shall...deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws (U.S. Constitution. Art./Amend. XIV, Sec. 1.) A person could not be discriminated upon solely because of his or her race and if the law treated a group of people differently, then a valid reason for the discrepancy of different treatment must exist. Racial minorities, but mainly women, have historically been subjected and made vulnerable to harsh restrictions on activities such as voting, attending college, and working as lawyers. These restrictions, based on stereotypes overlooked the actual capability and potential of each individual woman. For many cases dealing with discriminationof women, the Court looked to another important element of equal protection, which stated that unfair treatment couldn t be based on immutable distinctions, such as race and gender, because those fixed distinctions are uncontrollable and unrelated to ability. In the case of Frontiero v. Richardson, 411 U.S. 677 (1973), the Supreme Court was just one vote short of adopting gender as a suspect classification. In United States v. Virginia, 518 U.S. 515 (1996), women rights supporters were very pleased with the Supreme Court s ruling and remain
  • 15. Swot Analysis Of Home Depot Home Depot was one of the largest home improvement retailers of America with over 2248 stores worldwide. It was founded by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank in 1978. Home Depot is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. For two decades after its inception the company experienced rapid growth. But in the early 2000s the company performance slowed down and Bob Nardelli was named the new CEO. Earlier the company followed a decentralized organizational structure and that worked well until 2000. In early 1980s, the aim was to bring warehouse retailing concept to the home center industry. This was considered to be the first successful company in Do it Yourself (DIY) segment and was famous for providing high quality products with the low prices. The Home depot was a part of large, rapidly growing and competitive home improvement industry during 1980 s. With two wage earners in each household, families were willing to spend more money on home improvement projects. Therefore, the DIY segment grew rapidly and the industry attached many competitors to give tough competitions to each others. In early 1990, Lowe s became the largest competitor of Home depot as the sales and growth were at the top for Lowe s stores which took Lowe to large format warehouse stores. Basis of Recommendation: The success of the first three stores in 1979 encouraged the company to expand its business rapidly and reach the 50th store opening by the fiscal year 1985. Due to rapid expansion, the sales grew from $40
  • 16. The Case Of Jack And Samantha In the case regarding Jack, Samantha and Nicole, there are many different factors that appear regarding Jack and Samantha appealing their convictions. After reviewing the case, it states that Jack had often taken his anger out on Samantha s daughter, Nicole. Nicole had been hospitalized on six different occasions for different injuries that were caused by Jack. While all this had been going on, Samantha was aware of it. She was aware of the abuse that her daughter suffered by Jack and did nothing about it. The fact that Samantha knew that Jack was abusing Nicole and did nothing about it was what I would considered the leading factor to the courts decision to convict her of knowingly endangering the welfare of a minor. Nicole did exactly that, she was a parent that was supervising the welfare of a child under the age of 18 years old and knew that someone was endangering her child s welfare. Nicole did not care, protect or support her daughter in the situations that occurred with Jack instead he just turned her head and looked the other way. While studying the case more indept we learned that the reason Nicole did not fight back and defend her child was because of fear that if she left Jack he would severely hurt Nicole. Although Jack had only beaten Samantha once she still lived in fear of what he would do to her if she ever spoke up. One night however things took a turn for the worse, Samantha was working and Jack began attacking Nicole. While trying to get away from Jack,

Jacobs had to hide for almost seven years in her grandmother s attic in attempt to gain her and her children s freedom from their former slave owners (Yellin 2185). In 1852, Mrs. Willis, a family friend, bought Jacobs freedom, for which Jacobs felt I was robbed of my victory because she considered herself a person, unable to be bought or sold (Yellin 2185). It also was close to the border with the south during the civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states during the war. One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the Cincinnati Riots of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked the competition they received from the African American community in the area. Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get them to leave the area, leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left, while others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in 1836, this time attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery newspaper. A mob destroyed the press, throwing it out into the streets in attempt to deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish his newspaper. Bram Stocker is a Irish writer who changed the view of what to read in his time. He shows dark and twisted situations and metaphors throughout Dracula and many other of his horror novels. This novel was released in the Victorian era, which saw his type of writing as equivalent to the devil. This era was a long time of peace and bright minded people. Stockers style surprised many readers, because he always has you thinking it can t get any darker than it is but it always exceeds the previous twisted situation or event. A reason why Sstoker writes about violence may be due to the frustrations of his own marriage(Bloom), he and his wife had their up s and downs but eventually only saw down. Maybe if it wasn t for his marriage, Dracula wouldn t be welcome to the modern reader as one of the most frightening tales there is to be. The novel is a classic story of good v. evil. The author took many years and hard research to conjure up a literary masterpiece like Dracula(Burt). A unique type of

Essay on The Social Dynamics of the Police Use of Force When it comes to the criminal justice system, legal rulings only provide a systematic method of dealing with the problem of crime and, especially, the problem surrounding the police use of force. In Graham vs. Conner, for example, the courts established the four factor test to evaluate police use of excessive force but left other, underlying social and moral dilemmas untouched. Furthermore, the influence money has in negotiating punishment via lawyers and bail, have made the courts a perfect playing field for the political and social elite to rule. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the court system is unable to intervene in cases involving officer and citizen social relations, and since they have proved to be easily politically manipulated by lawyers and monetary bail, the police institution and its selection process must be examined and evaluated in order to address the social dilemma of the police use of force. The political and social elite can manipulate the legal system easily. Oftentimes, punishments ruled by the court consist of monetary penalization or bail. Thus it is easy for those high up on the social ladder to escape the consequences of illegal actions. However, for those that come from poorer socioeconomic backgrounds, and who make us a majority of arrests, bail is rarely an option they end up serving their full time in the jail cell (Metchik, 82). This makes the rebellious attitudes toward law enforcement and resistance of arrest more prominent among these proletariat groups. For either they try to resist going to jail with a small hope of getting away or at least being handcuffed after putting up a fight, or they go quietly with little hope for the courts to show mercy and face the entire severity of their punishment. Due to this brute reality, many individuals find it better to resist subjection to the police than quietly accept the fate they will likely face in the courts. This resistance compels officers to use force in order to complete an arrest. Tyler in his excerpt

  • 29. Theme And Meaning Of Peter Pan Theme and Meaning Peter Pan is a timeless tale in which transcends time and culture through its underlying themes. Each of the characters fulfilled their roles tremendously, and was able to bring forth these themes in their own unique ways. The most apparent, from the beginning, is the emphasis of youthfulness. Peter is the main embodiment of this theme, given he does not physically age. From the beginning, his role was that to entice Wendy and her siblings to journey with him to Never never land. What this magical place represents is a state of remaining youthful forever, and not letting society conform one s beliefs. The concept of age is masked by Peter s stubbornness to not conform to such. For example, Wendy wants to get married and have kids one day; Peter does not. Wendy wants this because she is taught from a young age that this is a common normality of life. Peter refusing to stay at the house with the other lost boys, in the end, showed that such normality does not have to be one s choice. This theme was conveyed by the play being both a comedy and a musical. These two forms of drama brought with it both wittiness and purity, both of which are a direct correlation youthfulness. And the character s ability to sing with clarity helped boost such a message. The role such clarity played is relevant to American culture, today. In order for people to listen, in a society with so much information, a message must be clear and transparent. Although it is not necessary

Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war. Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the country in chaotic ruins after the war. The company was forced to seek aboard for larger places to mass produce. After they hired an export manager, they were on their way to selling to the diverse markets of Japan, Canada, Brazil, and Russia. Soon after, the Phillip s industry had to build more organizations in the United States, Canada, and France because they were over their capacity. As for Matsushita, during the post war, they presented a broad line of new products, therefore they needed to seek a bigger sales volume. They opened several domestic outlets and forty percent of them went to Japan. This not only would fix the sales volume issue but also would give them access to the latest market trends. They then looked to export more markets after the growth slowed though the best they could do was an exchange and license contract with Phillips because American companies were unwilling to work together. Matsushita resorted to working with mass merchandisers under a private brand which then pushed them to open plants in Asia, and South America and later assembled operations in all the Americas, Europe and in Wales. Phillips and Matsushita have followed different international strategies and have had substantial skills and downfalls. As Heidegger wrote his theories two thousand years later, it comes to question, is Heidegger is just contrasting Aristotle because as later stated it is hard to achieve both theories at the same time. Aristotle main points are trying to pursue excellence with reason and Heidegger compares one s authentic self and inauthentic self. This paper is discussing each philosophical theory pertaining to ethics and how these two philosophers relate to each other. The Aristotle book Nicomachean Ethics goes deep in understanding of excellence and virtues and what humans strive to the highest good and pursue a life of gratification. Specifically, Aristotle makes a distinction between pursuing ends to a mean. As Schwab (2016, April 26) states, To be worthy of choice requires that something either be an end, or serve an end. He then discusses that we decide what we care about about is meaningful to us individually but overall makes us happy. For example, Aristotle states, Hence its end will include the ends of the other sciences, and so will be the human good. It might only be a stepping stone to reach the ultimate goal. As humans, we are always trying for the good that is superior than the rest. For example, pursuing an end to get a college education. While every journey is not the same, each of the pilgrimages has a lesson that can be learned. Two of the main pilgrimages that we explored were, Homer s Odyssey, and Dante s Inferno, both of which have a strong lesson about fate, but explore the topic in very different ways. In Homer s Odyssey the story starts ten years after the Trojan War, where we find Odysseuswho is the last Greek hero to not return to Ithaca. The story starts in the middle of Odysseus journey home. He finds himself imprisoned by Calypso, a goddess, who wants to marry Odysseus. In fact, charitable giving is the act of donating money to a certain cause, so that more people are helped overall. However, many organizations, such as the federal government, offer tax reductions while other organizations offer other perks for charitable giving. Some see incentives to charityas demeaning the virtueof selfless giving, yet these critics lose sight of the actual goal of charity: to help other people in its cause. Charity is not to allow people to think that they are more moral, but it s for the people instead. Incentivising charitable giving is not only just, but it is also warranted for the final goal of assisting as many people as possible. First, Jeremy Bentham wrote many papers describing the philosophy of utility, where an action is just if it does the most good to the most amount of people. In bringing incentives, we not only help more people for a cause, but we can all many who want to give charitably a chance to do so by offsetting the cost. Essentially, giving a reward to a person who gives up his or her own belongings which was unobligated to be given in the first place is just in an of itself. In these two, usually opposing moral frameworks, incentivizing charity is both just in each

In fact, according to McKeever, Bloch, Bratic (2013), one of the most significant ways to communicate concerns about patient care and about drug shortages is getting the message out to the appropriate individuals. Nurses should remain mindful of topics associated with pharmaceutical drug shortages, and how it affects patient care directly. Those worries can be conveyed at the policy level, as nurses can be strong advocates for preventing drug shortages. Nurses can also voice stories told by affected patients to policy makers and reporters. Also, collaborate efforts between nurse and patients could consist of calling legislators, the local newspapers and the FDA. More importantly nurses could use national organizations as an channel to spread the awareness and issue of drug shortages. Finally, nurses play a vital role in the healthcare team, and must exercise the ability to take charge and apply dependable, efficient protocols for the improvement of patient

Are working moms better than stay at home moms? Or vice versa? I ve always been a working mom but there have been many moments that I wanted to just be a stay at home mom; Ahhh, the simplicity! The way I figure it, it would make my life much easier because I do everything a stay at home mom does plus I work. So wouldn t it be much easier to just be a stay at home mom? I would have plenty of time to get groceries, housework, fill out the required 500 pages of daycare and school forms, meal planning and preparation...heck, I would even have time to make homemade bread if I wanted to! Or at the very least a homemade meal rather than the ever delicious hamburger helper or cereal for dinner. Emotional Intelligence And Social Pressures Emotional intelligence exposes an individual s ability to regulate their emotions, in an attempt to acknowledge their partner s perspective and convey intimacy and commitment in their relationship. In the framework of marriage, I do agree with the author that emotional intelligence may exist as the glue that holds a marriage together, as individuals must retain an aptitude to illustrate compassion and empathy with their partner. According to the text, evidence of a steady erosion of social pressures the stigma surrounding divorce, or the economic dependence on wives on their husbands that used to keep couples together in even the most miserable of matches surfaces (Goleman, 2005, p. 129). Due to societal deviations, couples no longer uncover themselves in an obligation to continue their marriages when confronting undesirable situations. Because obligations no longer keep couples together, emotional intelligenceimportance amplified. The general challenge with marital emotional intelligence subsists as genderdifferences. Due to the dissimilarity in childhood worlds, I agree with the author that we need to make a point of talking to boys, in particular, about emotional intelligence. Originating in elementary school, society articulates that males must conceal
