• The term grid computing originated in the early 1990’s as a metaphor
for making computer power as easy to access as an electric power
grid. Lan Foster, Carl Kesselman and Steve Tuecke are regarded as
the “Fathers of Grid Computing”.

resources from multiple administrative domains to reach a common

• Distributed or Grid computing in general is a special type of parallel
