2. Problem Certain groups of students (e.g. children from low socioeconomic families, ESL learners, bilingual speakers etc.) are at risk for developing smaller vocabulary repertoires than their peers. This impacts their reading comprehension abilities and academic achievement.

Proposed Solution Design and implement an interactive website that 1. allows students to create visual word maps for the purpose of making personal connections to the words 2. introduces/reinforces various vocab learning strategies 3. creates a social networked learning experience that leads to sharing, metacognition, and FUN!
