Ion Mihalache
In the First World War, Ion
Mihalache was distinguished in the
battles for defending the homeland in
the muscular regiments, at the passes of
the Dâmboviţa Valley, on the fronts of
Oituz and Mărăşeşti, being decorated
with the military order of war "Mihai
Viteazul".
He organized and campaigned for
the referendum, in which the population
of Bessarabia decided in 1918 to return
to the motherland.
