Joep is an accomplished intra- and entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience in/with SME’s,
corporates and starters developing leadership, entrepreneurial mindset & behavior, culture, strategic
thinking, value propositions, organization and governance. Joep’s core competence is executive
coaching and facilitating management-, change- and strategy-processes.
Throughout his career he has been leading and teaching organizational change, strategy
implementation, innovation and process improvement, marketing capability, knowledge management,
and building supporting educational programs.
He loves to share his experience, expertise and network helping leaders and starters/scalers to grow and
thrive.
He sees as the major challenge in this timeframe the transition to the “digital context” (aka 4th
Industrial Revolution) with fundamental impact on leaders, business, employees and society.
This transition entails building a robust digital strategy not only covering digital marketing, but also
integrating digital innovation and most importantly digital manufacturing (aka Smart Industry).
This calls for developing digital capabilities and governance in an increasingly networked environment.
In the CruxDigital/Nijenrode University Masterclass Digital Transformation he delivers the class on Board
Dynamics.
Joep graduated in Organization Psychology and did research at the University of Amsterdam on change
management and the quality of working life, and held senior positions at the AMRO bank and Royal
Philips.
He taught at Dutch HBO colleges on applied behavioral science, R&D management and industrial
marketing.
Joep performed as a speaker on knowledge management and marketing capabilities in professional
conferences. He also spoke on Innovation in the 2000 PDMA in New Orleans. He was a member of the
Chief Knowledge Officers Summit.
Recently Joep joined the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.
He co-founded and discontinued companies, and founded in 2006 WijmanCoaching, which provides
coaching and a sounding board for executives, mentors startups and helps them thrive, facilitates
strategy implementation and companywide change, and helps innovation partnerships enhancing
effectiveness and quality of the front-end.
