INTRODUCTION:
As we academia fully understand that the ability to design and skills in draftsmanship and
using computer edit design (CAD) equipment will not alone make an architect. The
purpose of the subject is to present architecture students some indication of the practice
and procedure with which they must be acquainted if they are to follow their profession
with success.
Then must find clients to employ them, they must be able to manage an office and be
responsible for a good deal of administrative work in connection with building contract
they must know something of finance, law, the general structure of building industry and
the organization and the requirement of those authorities who exercise so much control
over day to day work.
The subjects have been arranged in the sequence in which the progress of a building
contract make natural. The subject is divided into two semesters 9th and 10th during final
years of Architectural studies.
The 9th semester opens with introduction to the construction industry and is followed by
some basic principles of practices, sources of information, legal and administrative
matters.
The 10th semester follows the running of construction projects the subject is based on
PCATP plan of work procedures from inception of project to its completion and finally it
covers management matters finance insurance obtaining work and employing staff. The
lecture includes power point presentations case study and visits.

COURSE STRUCTURE:
• The course is structural through delivery of lectures, professional tutorials and
small group seminars.

procurement and tendering procedures.
ASSESSMENT:
The course is assessed in four ways examination in contract and procedure course work
and documentation related to practice experience and its assimilations in form of
assignment and finally critical evaluation of comprehension of subject through viva and
interview.
