Bring me
the man
that
doesn’t lie

Yes
your
lordship

Is it true you
never lie? And
you won’t in
the future?

That is
true my
king

You will be
a key asset
to the
monarchy
The king sends a nobleman out to fetch the man who never lies, who is named Mamad.

Mamad promises he has never lied and won’t lie in the future. The king sees the man as
a key asset.

slides, they could be added
for effect. The characters
have the same poses in every
single slide, I could change the
poses so they are varied
throughout the production

Too messy, we
won’t harm
him…. for now

This could be stretched out so it
looks less cramped

One of the kings noblemen, James was becoming tired of been out of the limelight. He decided to plot how to get rid of Mamad

My king, shall we
go hunting
today?

Great idea
James

James suggests that the king should go hunting

Mamad, go
tell the Queen
to prepare a
feast

Yes your
majesty

The king sends Mamad to the summer palace to tell the Queen to
prepare a feast, since he was joining her for lunch.

Maybe it’s not
the best day for
hunting

Maybe you’re
right James

James tells the King that it might not be the best day to go hunting.
The king forgets he has sent Mamad to the summer
palace, James’s plan is working

Mamad returns and expects praise, instead he gets accused of
lying

Mamad tells the Queen to prepare a feast for the King, the Queen
says she’ll prepare one.

Think of the
food he’s
wasting

The man who
never lies?

PRESSURE

Haha!
Mamad!!

The ‘haha’ is Informal
lexis. Perhaps I should
remove the word or
replace it. However, my
graphic narrative’s
target audience is
teenagers, this lexis may
be fitting.

Create different
townsfolk instead
of copying the
same twice.

James, who has spent the last few years tainting the kings mind, tells the King to punish Mamad.

You are
sentenced to
DEATH!

James
for king

The king orders Mamad’s execution, the man who now feels two
feet tall

Move the slide up so the
description at the bottom
isn’t difficult to read, like
it is now.

You are
charged
under the
lying to the
king act

BURN
HIM!!

The crowd shout for Mamad to be burnt. The man who never lies
gets burnt at the stake.
How do I
get rid of
the king?
You might
be right this
time

Murder?

Move the two characters nearer together or
add a prop/object into the middle of the two.

Beat
Him?

James hatches a plan to kill the king with his rogue gang of ‘noblemen’

Would you
like some
wine my
king?

Yes
please
James

My sweet
king, please
don’t
die….Slowly

The slowly could be
added to another
speech bubble to
look more
effective, however,
not one of the major
changes I have to
undertake for the
second draft.

weep

James…I…want…
you…to…be…king
The Nobleman James offers the King some wine, but has poisoned
the beverage. The king accept and drinks the wine, he starts to feel
ill.

The king is on his death bed and expresses his desire for James to
be the king and rule Winchester.

The King’s funeral is the following day. Everyone in Winchester is
sad, except James, who is using it as an opportunity to show off his

I AM KING
JAMES, BOW TO ME
PEASANTS!!

A picture of the castle could be
added here to make the slide
look less bare.

James officially takes up the King position and tells everyone to bow down to him and brands them ‘peasants’.

new title.
You have abused
your power, stand
down or be
captured

How do we overthrow the
monarchy?

I’ll take you
all on!!

Eventually people are tired of James’s behaviour so start an uprising against the Monarchy. Due to
James only having a few noblemen and no army, it’ll be easy to overthrow him as king.

Add more
branches off the
dialogue box to
show more than
one person is
speaking, like on
the below slide.

The resistance confront James to get him to back down without a fight. James, who’s currently
power crazy, believes he can take on a whole army.

The kingdom is ours

The army overthrow James and have an equal share in the Monarchy. James’s head is put on a spike and paraded through the streets of Winchester, cheers flood the streets of the City, as well as James’s
blood.
