This document provides instructions for writing a procedure text. It explains that a procedure text uses imperative sentences, temporal conjunctions, and simple present tense to describe the steps needed to make or do something. It notes a procedure text typically includes the goal, materials/tools, and sequenced steps. Examples are given for procedures like making tea, planting chili, and making an omelet. The last part provides a template and instructions for students to work in groups to create a powerpoint presenting ten procedure texts over a week and present it to their classmates.

Uses Imperative sentences ( Command or
Prohibitation ). Put, add, stir, mix, don’t pour.
Uses Temporal conjunctions ( first, second,
third, next, then, after that, finally )
Uses Adverbial to show exactly times ( for five
minutes, two hours, ten minutes …).
Uses Simple Present tense.

Terdiri dari bahan-bahan/alat-alat yang
digunakan dalam membuat/mengoperasikan

Langkah-langkah atau urutanurutan yang harus dilakukan agar
tujuan yang diuraikan pada bagian
Aim/ Goal bisa tercapai. Langkahlangkah atau urutan-urutan tersebut
haruslah urut dari yang pertama
hingga terakhir.Umumnya
menggunakan temporal
conjunctions ( first, second, third…)

Goal
: How to make a cup of tea
Materials
: tea, a spoonful of sugar, water.
Tools
: a cup, a spoon, a pan, a stove
Steps
: First, boil some water
Next, put some tea and a spoonful of sugar in a
cup
After that, pour the boiled water into the cup
and stir well
Finally, a cup of sweet tea is ready to drink.

Aim/ Goal : how to plant a chili-plant easily.
Materials : Chili seeds, fertilizer, …
Tools
: Big pot, knife, a hoe
Steps : Firstly, dry a handful seeding under the
sunlight.
Secondly, put the seeding on the soil. It should be
in open area
Next, wait it. There will come out the sprout after
that let it be bigger.
Finally, put it in another big pot. It will soon grow
bigger and bigger and yield us some fresh chilies
soon.

Materials :
Ingredients
1 egg, 50 g cheese, ¼ cup milk, 3
tablespoons cooking, oil, a pinch of salt
and pepper.
Tools :
Frying pan, fork, spatula, cheese grater,
bowl, plate.

Goal : How to turn off computer safely

Tools : Computer set.

Steps :
First, click the start button at the
bottom left corner of the screen. There
will be two choices “ log off” and “ turn
off the computer”.

After that, choose and click “ turn
off” wait for minutes for the shutting
down process.
Finally, don’t forget to unplug the
power cord.

STUDENTS’ TASK
Make a group of five.
Make a power point of Procedure text at
least consist of ten slides.
Do it for a week with your group.
Present it in front of your friends.
