Getting Sacked, Van Halen, M & M's and Better Digital Marketing Decisions Wayne Barker
Humans dont really like to make decisions. Decisions are tough. There is often too much at stake. Humans make bad decisions all the time.
But not making a decision at all is even worse.

Make better decisions, easier and across the board.
Marketers are trained to put their best foot forward and ignore the downsides of their products. This is about doing the exact opposite: finding your weakest points and showcasing them for all to see.

Deck from the Science Fair where people were asked to pitch the problem they are solving and the customer rather than the solution, business model and other elements in usual pitch competitions. Then, rather than show a prototype or a demo, they were asked to present one thing they demolished. One fear that they were no longer afraid of. One feature they know is unnecessary. One customer they know don't have a problem. One stigma that they...
Doing customer development (and stop wasting your time)Hans van Gent
Why would you bother to talking to people while you actually could be building your product? Because everything you assume could be wrong. Time to validate those assumptions and start your business on the right track.
This presentation is a boiled down version of a workshop i do with startups.
The goal of the workshop is to start with customer interviews and improve or pivot the startup's product.
It is based on the method of customer development by steve blank but focuses mainly on how to do interviews the right way.
I had the honor of working with some very fine young women. I promised very little lecturing and slide decks - but this deck kept us on track in between exercises, discussions, and most importantly, experiments!
The Secret To Succes In Real Estate Is Simple.Ken Brand
Nobody wants to be sold to. Everybody likes to choose. The key to success is simple.
1. Know what others don't.
2. Do what others won't.
This share is filled with practical ideas and actions you can take today. Many of them are free. All of them are smartly simple.
If you practice these, you'll become uber-choosable, you'll attract, connect, impress, loyalize and thrive.
The days of chasing, muscle monologuing, me-meing, bragging, capturing, closing and generally being a rude and irrelevant selling machine are over.
Check it out.

This is how it is going to be all weekend. We are not going to tell you we have no spoon or that your idea sucks or is great. We are going to ask you vague questions and lead you to the answer. It may be uncomfortable. It hurts us more than it hurts you. Your instructors have been trained to not break character, do not take it out on them. We are not doing this to be annoying, we are doing it because we have seen it work. Refunds are on the table if you want to leave:) they will be here until after you run your first experiment.

only experiments that lead to truth and predictive reliability can help you eliminate waste
what is your goal - how will you know you have accomplished it - how do you avoid retrospective coherence…
no, test first - experiment first, optimize for learning
Because build it and they will come is a FLAWED strategy. CAN REPLACE WITH CRANES OVERBUILDING IN A CITY ESP IN EUROPE MOVIE REFERENCE DOESNT ALWAYS TRANSLATE
If you have a 3 part plan, if part 1 falls apart part's 2 + 3 are irrelevant.

Used this image instead of cooler ones of tunnels-- since you can actually see something at the other end... maybe it's the wrong thing.
Avoid missing the bigger opportunity-- opportunity cost is HUGE
Get out of your comfort zone -not just the how... get out of your comfort zone for its own sake... coders love to code, designers like to design their way out - sales people like to sell their way out... start with a problem and a customer and you are in good shape.
