2. Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-
centered pedagogy in which students learn about
a subject through the experience of solving an
open-ended problem.
4. •Designs the problem

events
•Investigates & gathers

•Models and coaches students
Role of teacher
5. METHOD FOR STUDENTS
Effective problem-solving requires an orderly approach. Problem-solving skills do
not magically appear in students as a result of instructors simply throwing
problems at them.
Our students use the following heuristic: "How to make a DENT in a problem: Define, Explore, Narrow, Test."
(1) Define the Problem Carefully
2) Explore Possible Solutions
(3) Narrow Your Choices
(4) Test Your Solution
6. Problem based learning will provide you with opportunities to
examine and try out what you know
discover what you need to learn
develop your people skills for achieving higher performance in
teams
improve your communications skills
state and defend positions with evidence and sound argument
become more flexible in processing information and meeting
obligations
practice skills that you will need after your education
