A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Prisoners In this screenshot, at the start of the film is just a wooded area with narrative in the background, which is setting the scene and letting the audience know exactly where the first scene is set and then this scene then goes onto where they shoot the deer and cook it for their family diner, so this long shot of the wooded scenery is very necessary within the plot. In this screenshot, you can see that the narrative within the conversation between the son and the father relate to the outside weather. Also the rain within this scene metaphorically describes the mood of the scene and the characters. It also enhances the conventions of a Thriller film. This shot is almost over the shoulder shot which suggests to the target audience that they are having a conversation. In this screenshot, you can see that the focal point is the cross which typically symbolises death and with the family blurred in the background, as the target audience this hints towards it foreshadowing to the ending. The camera angle that is used in this shot is as if its from the POV of someone in the car however the fact that the family don't respond or look at the car suggests to the target audience that the person in the car shouldn't be in there.

This may be foreshadowing the ending of the plot. This particular part in the film, there is narrative in the background so we, as the target audience, know what they are saying, which is what the person thats hiding from them may be thinking as-well. As they know what they are saying but aren't able to see them in full detail. In this screenshot, the camera angle suggests to the target audience that its from the POV of someone looking through the caravan to the family. This suggests to the target audience that there is going to be something happen between the family and the person that is in the caravan which is now a hidden identity. This is a typical convention of the thriller film. The use of low key lighting is also a typical convention of the thriller film and is used within this screenshot, which causes tension and gives the film bit of suspense.
