The Adaptive PMO: Manage and Maintain Change Management for long term successKeyedIn Projects
Change is an essential way of life for project managers and keeping up with change has proven to be a differentiator for businesses looking to innovate and grow in a complicated environment. While change brings with it new opportunities and growth, it also comes with obstacles and challenges that need to be managed and maintained in order for long term success. In an era of uncertainty and chaos, the role of the Project Management Office is critical to the success and sustainability of business change.
In the latter part of the year, KeyedIn conducted a survey to get an understanding of the challenges and goals of the PMO. We surveyed hundreds of project practitioners from various levels of the organization to uncover some key insights to help moving forward.

Resource capacity is an important yet challenging model for any PMO to get an accurate understanding of. Add to that changing resource requirements, shifting business priorities and unpredictable resource pool and it becomes very daunting to maintain a reliable capacity plan. In today’s rapidly changing environment, this is just the start of it.
Businesses in every industry are looking to optimize the return on their investments while maintaining the ability to adjust and pivot with minimal disruption in these evolving times. They are using PPM to help them with that and they need their CIOs to help them drive future success. Don’t be an anchor for your business partners.
With all the threats to the global economy that exist today, it's more important than ever that businesses demonstrate organizational agility. That means operating from top to bottom in a way that optimizes performance and minimizes disruption. In this webinar, industry expert Andy Jordan shows you how to build your agile enterprise with a focus on effective planning with limited budgets, best project investments, agility to pivot projects with minimal disruption, and empowering your project delivery teams.

We’re driven to help organizations improve their agility to make intelligent decisions that create value.
This is why we’re committed to excellence in analytics strategy, implementation, and training.
When we hear “values,” we interpret it in three different ways: cultural norms, metrics for tradeoffs (if you happen to be a decision analyst), or distinguishing between means and ends (if you’ve read “Value-Focused Thinking”). This talk will share a fourth way of hearing the term “values,” offering an interpretation of values as “meta-strategy” by understanding intrinsic purpose. Exploring intrinsic purpose is unfamiliar territory, and stories will be shared on how such an exercise helped unlock the creative juice of an organization, gave dignity to their work and transformed their frame. Along the way, a $2 million portfolio turned into a $30 million portfolio. That story and other experiments in mapping the values of organizations will be shared. A reformulation of the six elements of decision quality along the head and heart dimensions will also be offered.
If you’re managing software projects as part of your IT portfolio, you might be missing out on critical information causing delays or issues. Most portfolio-level insights can identify that projects might be delayed and which applications might be at risk, but often fail to provide information to explain why that’s happening or how it can be remedied.

Lean Development Practices for Enterprise AgileTechWell
Enterprise agile initiatives require strategic, portfolio, product, and team perspectives at all levels. Alan Shalloway has found that lean software development principles help integrate all of these perspectives into a cohesive, actionable whole. With a combination of lean science, lean management, lean team, and lean learning methods, Alan shows how your organization can prepare for enterprise agility. Lean science focuses on the “laws” present in all software development projects. Lean management empowers executives to contribute to the context within which teams can flourish. Lean team methods are actualized in Kanban approaches. Lean learning empowers everyone in the organization to improve his skills and practices. Alan shows how you can make these four perspectives work together so that enterprise software development teams build the right software in the right way and continue to improve their practices along the way.

Agile Capitalization For Greater Business ValueCA Technologies
With disruptive technology advances, software assets play an increasingly important role in creating a competitive advantage. It’s time for organizations to recognize and manage business software as a strategic corporate asset.
To keep up with the speed of business, companies turn to agile practices to deliver better customer value faster.
Challenge: agile software development is too often misunderstood and misreported, impacting taxation, higher volatility in Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and dramatic, unnecessary staff cuts in an economy where talent retention is paramount to foster innovation.
To avoid those negative implications, companies can evolve their financial reporting practices to leverage the financial advantage of agile so they can benefit from the significantly increased tax savings and investor interest associated with agile capitalization.
This session will unravel the benefits of agile capitalization and explain how to appropriately interpret and apply generally accepted accounting standard (GAAP SOP 98-1 and ASC 350-40) so your organization can increase its agile adoption to deliver more business value faster to customers.

In software engineering, the right architecture is essential for robust, scalable platforms. Wix has undergone a pivotal shift from event sourcing to a CRUD-based model for its microservices. This talk will chart the course of this pivotal journey.
Event sourcing, which records state changes as immutable events, provided robust auditing and "time travel" debugging for Wix Stores' microservices. Despite its benefits, the complexity it introduced in state management slowed development. Wix responded by adopting a simpler, unified CRUD model. This talk will explore the challenges of event sourcing and the advantages of Wix's new "CRUD on steroids" approach, which streamlines API integration and domain event management while preserving data integrity and system resilience.
Participants will gain valuable insights into Wix's strategies for ensuring atomicity in database updates and event production, as well as caching, materialization, and performance optimization techniques within a distributed system.
Join us to discover how Wix has mastered the art of balancing simplicity and extensibility, and learn how the re-adoption of the modest CRUD has turbocharged their development velocity, resilience, and scalability in a high-growth environment.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?
