Over the years agile became a common way of software development. More and more companies adopt to the agile manifesto.
But there are some challenges on the way to become an agile organization. One is the question of how to deal with financial planning. The previous answer was: Budgeting. But butgeting does not scale with the velocity of agile projects. The idea to solve this problem exists much longer then the idea of agile itself: Go Beyond Budgeting.
There are many challenges that are faced by the business world today on how to manage your business goals and strategies in a market that is both dynamic and moves very quickly. Customer-obsessed firms take an outside-in approach, relying heavily on collaboration, to deliver desirable products and services. Product, marketing, and technology teams exchange information with a wide circle of people, both internal and external to the company. Email remains the vehicle of choice: 77% of information workers use email for internal communication, while 76% use it for external communication with partners and clients. Over half of information workers are on email constantly. These interruption-driven activities reduce the amount of time spent on an actual task activity to a mere 18%. How does anyone get anything done?
Managing the chaos of work requires solutions that enable teams to have a centralized location to work collectively and share digital content deliverables such as documents, presentations, web content, and videos and capture the contextual conversations around the activities being performed. This webinar talks about the need for collaborative work management solutions and how they can bring greater productivity without adding extra work to the work you’re already doing.

The key to successful Digital TransformationMegan Hunter
Many companies see technology as the key to delivering transformation and whilst technology plays a vital role in enabling business change, it is only one piece of the jigsaw.
Implementing transformational solutions is something most companies do once or twice a generation, and it’s like performing open heart surgery. The decision to undertake these projects is not taken lightly, and the business world is plagued by examples of implementations that haven’t delivered the desired business outcomes, are late and exceed budget.
With contributions from key Microsoft partners, including IBM, QuantiQ, PwC, Avanade, KPMG Crimsonwing, and Hitachi Solutions, this White Paper discusses the common features that differentiate the successful business transformation programmes from the failures, and why all programmes must address the following: clarity; having the right team; securing talent; selecting the right partner; adopt, not adapt; strong governance; external assurance.
It’s not a secret that the need to modernize traditional finance operations and evolve into a “Digital Finance” organization has become a key priority for finance leaders.
In this video recap of the webinar held on 12/11/ 2019; Raul Vega, Auxis CEO, discussed the key risks and challenges organizations typically face as part of their transformation journey, and how to develop and execute a strategy that provides the business case and outcomes you expect based on your specific company size and needs.
What was covered:
- What does Modern Finance really mean?
- Digitization as a Key Element of the Modern Finance Organization
- Most Common Tools you should be implementing as part of your Digital Finance journey
- What’s driving RPA’s growth?
- Implementation Strategies & Alternatives
- How Outsourcing can help finance executives self-fund their Digital Finance Strategy and drive faster outcomes
Agile Capitalization For Greater Business ValueCA Technologies
With disruptive technology advances, software assets play an increasingly important role in creating a competitive advantage. It’s time for organizations to recognize and manage business software as a strategic corporate asset.
To keep up with the speed of business, companies turn to agile practices to deliver better customer value faster.
Challenge: agile software development is too often misunderstood and misreported, impacting taxation, higher volatility in Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and dramatic, unnecessary staff cuts in an economy where talent retention is paramount to foster innovation.
To avoid those negative implications, companies can evolve their financial reporting practices to leverage the financial advantage of agile so they can benefit from the significantly increased tax savings and investor interest associated with agile capitalization.
This session will unravel the benefits of agile capitalization and explain how to appropriately interpret and apply generally accepted accounting standard (GAAP SOP 98-1 and ASC 350-40) so your organization can increase its agile adoption to deliver more business value faster to customers.

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?
Code reviews are vital for ensuring good code quality. They serve as one of our last lines of defense against bugs and subpar code reaching production.

High-performance data transfer into and out of JASMIN has always been a key feature, with many scientists bringing model outputs from supercomputers elsewhere in the UK, to analyse against observational or other model data in the CEDA Archive. A growing number of JASMIN users are now realising the benefits of using the Globus service to provide reliable and efficient data movement and other tasks in this and other contexts. Further use cases involve long-distance (intercontinental) transfers to and from JASMIN, and collecting results from a mobile atmospheric radar system, pushing data to JASMIN via a lightweight Globus deployment. We provide details of how Globus fits into our current infrastructure, our experience of the recent migration to GCSv5.4, and of our interest in developing use of the wider ecosystem of Globus services for the benefit of our user community.
Listen to the keynote address and hear about the latest developments from Rachana Ananthakrishnan and Ian Foster who review the updates to the Globus Platform and Service, and the relevance of Globus to the scientific community as an automation platform to accelerate scientific discovery.
