This document discusses a school trip to historical sites in Greece including the Acropolis, Odeion Herodotus Atticus, Theater of Dionisos, and Erehtheion. It mentions restoration efforts at the Acropolis and lists team members from an Erasmus program in Greece involving students from Greece, Georgia, and Bulgaria who visited these landmarks.
This document discusses impressionism in art, music, and literature. It begins by defining impressionism as an artistic movement that developed in the late 19th century and influenced painting, literature, and music. It describes the key characteristics of impressionist painting including vivid colors, outdoor compositions, emphasis on light, and giving an impression rather than accurate depiction. It then discusses how impressionism influenced music through composers like Debussy and Ravel who were inspired by impressionist painting. It lists some of the major figures associated with artistic impressionism.
Impressionism began in French art in the 1860s seeking to faithfully capture psychic impressions of nature. The term originated from Monet's painting "Impression - Sunrise" shown in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874 featuring artists like Monet, Degas, Renoir and Pissarro. In music, Debussy was a key Impressionist composer, aiming to evoke associative impressions rather than convey specific ideas through pieces like "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun". Other Impressionist composers included Ravel, Delius, and Scriabin.
This document summarizes Greece's laws around plastics according to EU directives and the activities of the First Junior High School of Markopoulo in Athens, Greece. It outlines that Greek law aims to reduce certain plastic products that are harmful to the environment and human health. It then lists 10 plastic products that will be banned in Greece starting in July 2021 and February 2022 according to EU legislation, including items like cotton swabs, straws, and food containers made of polystyrene. The document also discusses how students at the First Junior High School of Markopoulo recycled plastics to make musical instruments and collaborated with an organization called "Defenders of the Sea" to discuss solutions to plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea
Plastic waste comes from many sources, including plastic toys and floaters that were released into the oceans in large quantities in 1992. Plastic bags and bottles can take hundreds of years to decompose in oceans, washing up on beaches and harming marine life. Today, beaches are littered with plastic waste from human activities like smoking, food packaging, and discarded toys, as humans produce around 2 billion pieces of garbage each year, with 80% eventually making its way into oceans.
Plastics are derived from natural materials like gas, oil, and plants that are refined and processed to create polymers. Ethane and propane are cracked into ethylene and propylene, which are combined with a catalyst to form a powdery polymer that is melted and extruded into pellets. These pellets are shipped to factories and molded into various plastic products like water bottles, auto parts, and medical devices. Plastics get their name from the Greek word 'plastikos' meaning 'to form,' and they are polymers made of chains of repeating monomers linked together through polymerization.
Plastic pollution is a serious problem that is damaging the environment. Plastic garbage ends up in oceans and beaches, hurting wildlife. Greek beaches and coasts in particular suffer from plastic pollution. Many marine animals in the Mediterranean Sea are injured or killed after ingesting plastic waste, which makes the Mediterranean one of the most polluted seas in Europe. The document discusses the authors' experience visiting a beach to photograph and clean up plastic rubbish, where they felt proud to help the environment.
1) The document is a collection of quotes from students and teachers in Greece, Malta, and Spain about what eTwinning means to them.
2) Many of the quotes highlight that eTwinning provides an opportunity to learn about other cultures, meet new people from around the world, and exchange ideas and photos.
3) eTwinning is described as a way to learn from others, stop and think about important things, and feel part of the same world.
The Pear Deck slides are for Earth Day activities and include slides about watering a plant, doing an Earth Day I Spy activity where students count different Earth Day related items, designing an Earth Day shirt, making an Earth Day pledge to do two things to help the planet, and drawing a favorite outdoor place or activity.
The document contains reflections from students and teachers on their experiences with eTwinning, an online community for schools in Europe. The reflections highlight that eTwinning allows participants to: learn about other cultures by sharing photos and experiences with partners from different countries; appreciate different traditions, celebrations, and perspectives; and collaborate on projects while gaining new knowledge and being inspired.
This document summarizes a hike through a town in Greece to visit the 12th century Panagia Varabessa Byzantine church. Along the path are fig and reed plants, olive groves, vineyards, and pine trees hundreds of years old. When reaching the church, it is surrounded by common local trees like vineyards, olive groves, and figs. The hike offers beautiful views of the snowy Ymittos Mountain and planes landing at the nearby Athens International Airport. On the return trip, two horses are encountered as if wanting a promise to pass by again.
The students of the 1rst junior high school in Markopoulo Attiki made musical instruments from recycled everyday items after learning about ancient Greek musical instruments in history class. Inspired by ancient Greeks who made instruments from wood and natural products, the students created instruments that produced sounds similar to ancient organs by recycling materials. The children enjoyed both making and playing with their recycled musical instruments.

2. TO ΨΗΦΙΑΚΟ ΑΠΟΤΥΠΩΜΑ
