Our school, IIS Leonardo da Vinci, has been educating students for over 50 years. It was formed in 2012 from the union of two schools and now has 900 students aged 14-18. The school offers language and cultural courses to prepare students for higher education, and is located in a disadvantaged area. It has over 120 teachers and recently upgraded facilities, including a new gym and biological lab.

6.  Leonardo da vinci is a high school that has been educating students for over
50years.
 This new IIS Leonardo da Vinci was born in September 2012 from the union
of 2 schools of Piazza Armerina, the pedagogical and linguistic lyceum with
the technical Institute for accountancy and surveyor.
 In 2013Leonardo da Vinci enlarges its training offer including also the two
Professional Institutes of Piazza Armerina.
 It has 900 students and they get their education in five years.
 Students are aged between 14-18. They are accepted in our school after
having attended scuola media.

7.  The school offers courses of English, French, Spanish, italian and Latin. It
also organizes language and cultural exchanges.
 The main aim of the school is to provide relevant and quality education
through its special Curriculum, to prepare the students for higher education
at the university.
The school is located in a socially disadvantaged area, because of the high
unemployment rate.

8.  Thanks to European funds the school has had the opportunity to enrich its
technological equipment in the classrooms, with the daily use of computers,
tablets , interactive whiteboards etc.
 There are more than 120 teachers in our school besides the office workers.
