PDHPE (Personal Development, Health and Physical Education) in primary schools promotes healthy lifestyles and life skills in students. It addresses increasing rates of childhood obesity and encourages physical activity, which develops motor skills. PDHPE also teaches social and decision making skills. However, schools allocate only 1.5-2.5 hours per week to PDHPE, so parental encouragement of healthy habits at home is important to support student wellbeing and academic achievement.
