children about health, physical
activity, development and safety.
PDHPE is an important key learning
area within the primary school
curriculum in which:
Promotes and encourages physical activity in a fun and safe
environment.
Encourages a healthy lifestyle, through promotion of healthy
eating habits and positive attitudes.
Encourages students to make informed decisions regarding
personal health choices.
Encourages an understanding and valuing of self and others.
Promotes development of positive interpersonal relationships.
Teaches them fundamental movement skills.
Is concerned with the factors influencing personal health
choices.

students to be both highly functional and healthy human

them into healthy kids, which will lead to healthy futures.
So remember, PDHPE aims to develop students’
knowledge, understanding, values, skills and positive attitudes that
are needed to adapt an active healthy lifestyle. If change can be
implemented now, children’s futures will be much brighter. So let’s
do what we can for the next generation and support and promote
PDHPE.
