This is my PowerPoint presentation for the evaluation question 1: In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions or real media products?
I conducted this research to generate ideas for my magazine ancillary task and to identify the elements of a magazine spread featuring a film review, that create a professional style.
2. Front Page
My magazine is similar to the professional
magazine because of the fonts used, they
are both aggressive and stand out very well.
The pictures contain different mise-enscene, mine contains none but still has the
same effect which is that they are both
aggressive and appeal to the social group
that would associated with, the cover line
stands out like the kerrang magazine does, it
stands out. The masthead for both stands
out very well, it has it owns unique house
style.
3. Contents Page
Both contents page are very good because they both
convey what is in the magazine very well, they both
have a splitter in the middle of the page and they both
show information top and bottom, bottom for more
contents in word form, and the top banner which is a lot
more picture related which relates more to the younger
generation. The editors message is in the same place
and shows the editor very clearly.
4. Double Page Spread
The double page layouts for
them are the same the picture
on the left and the they used the
Colum system in the text that is
on the right for both pages.
