What kind of media institution
 might distribute your media
     product and why?
What Is Distribution?
• It is marketing of a film.
• It is the way that it is made available for viewing.
• Either theatrically or for home viewing
• DVD, video on demand, download, television
    programs.
• Distribution Companies:
• 20th century fox
• Metrodome
• Pixar
Reasons that distributors may like our
                film:
• Young cast, first time director
• Be popular with teenagers
• Popular Genre
• Relates to a popular movie “Carrie”
• Similar themes to British movie “Kidulthood”
Is your film going to appeal to UK audiences
only? Or does it have a wider appeal? Why?
                   Why not?

I think the audience would remain in the UK
because it is a low budget film and it is
produced and directed in the UK. The film is a
thriller and was filmed on a flip camera. The film
may appeal to mainly teenagers as it is a
physiological thriller based on a girl committing
suicide.
Our thoughts about possible
    marketing strategies and release
               strategies
• We are an independent company, our marketing
strategies would be promoting the movie using
social networking sites for example Facebook.
• We would do this by making a Facebook page all
about our film so people can see it, like it and
share it onto their own Facebook Page. Another
way would be billboards for promoting are film.
• We would be releasing our strategies straight to
DVD’s to be sold in the major shops as we have a
low budget and would not be able to afford for it
to be shown in the cinemas.
