3. What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and why?
• Film Distributors are companies that help a film distribute it’s
newly produced film and get it in front of as many audiences
as possible. They can help distribute large Hollywood films or
  small independent movies.

• A big named Distributor such as 20th Century Fox will
automatically establish that the film is authentic and reliable
as they’ve distributed big names like ‘The Beach’ and ‘Avatar’.

• Once the movie is finished it needs to get released and
appear in front of our screens. This is where the role of the
Distributors come in as they can play a huge factor towards a
  films success.
• They will be in control of the movement of our movie In
cinemas and home viewing as well as advertisement for the
film. As our film is a small independent children's animation
film then a decent distribution name can make all the
difference and help deliver the film to the public.

• We researched and looked at British Distributors such as Film
4 and Vertigo Pictures. Film 4 is a excellent example of a
British distribution industry that also helps distribute
independent films. Film 4 is completely acceptable for free via
TV so larger audience viewing is not restricted.
• However looking at the Film 4 and Vertigo Film websites we
realised many independent films or even larger names are
based on older audiences than we would've liked.

• Hardly any animated or children films were listed and so it
would be harder for our target audiences to view our film as
children are not familiar with names likes Film 4 and wouldn’t
  be watching it on here.

• Therefore we decided to use the more well known distributor
such as Buena vista Distributions or formally known as Walt
  Disney Studios.
• We decided to include Walt Disney animation studios instead
as younger audiences and parents would be more familiar and
  trustworthy towards the film.

• Even though they have helped distribute huge classic
movies, they have also helped distribute short animation
films, know as package films. Some short animated films
they’ve distributed include ‘Make mine music’ and ‘Fantasia’
  both released in the 40’s.
• Disney animation studios has distributed many classic films as
well as more independent shot films. We thought it would be
great if better short films were released during this modern
century as technology and ideas have been developing over
  time.

• Disney is a large well known name that has been used in many
aspects of marketing from shops, theme parks to TV
programmes. So the logo will determine reliability and status
  to the film.
• An indent of the Disney Animation logo will be shown at the
beginning of the film for a few seconds to establish what
kind of movie/genre this is. This small detail of inputting a
logo can boost revue streams for the film and even publicity
from the Distributors main website and fanbase.
