Katie-May Anderson and Lucina Brown have chosen to create a music video for their final project. They will create a video for the song "We Are the Kids" by Walk the Moon, an indie/alternative song. The video will tell the story of an elderly woman reminiscing about her rebellious teenage years and close friendship through a series of flashbacks. Scenes of the two teenage girls will portray a lifestyle of youthful exploration through settings like parks and woods. Editing techniques like changes in coloration and fast cuts between shots will help distinguish the flashback scenes from the present day. A variety of shots including establishing shots, close-ups, and tracking shots will be used to set the scene and characterize

2. CHOSEN IDEA – MUSIC VIDEO.
• Myself and Lucina have decided to create a music video for our final
A2 product. We have chosen this as it is something new to us and
believe we have many ideas and creative thoughts when it comes to
creating a video surrounding music.

3. CHOSEN SONG : INDIE STYLE-
WALK THE MOON – WE ARE THE KIDS
• We have decided to create a music video surrounding an indie / alternative
genre. To present this genre we have chosen a song called ’We Are The Kids’ by
Walk the moon. We finalized this idea by researching multiple different songs
within this genre, and eventually making a full decision that this song fit our style
of imagination most. This specific song is not one that it is incredibly popular,
however it is perfect for the style of music video we will create.
• We have decided to base our music video surrounding the lyrics of the song
rather than a separate narrative as we believe the lyrics portray a narrative that we
originally wanted to create.

4. CHOSEN NARRATIVE
• As I have said previously we have decided to focus our narrative on the lyrics of
the song.
• The storyline of our music video is as follows: The video will resemble a full
flashback from the point of view of an elderly woman. The flashback will include
looking back at her friendship with somebody she was very close to in her
teenage years. Our music video will base this friendship around the rebellion of
youth and the lifestyle of teenage exploration, this will be portrayed through
settings such as camden and woods to represent the indie genre as well as the
narrative of rebellion. Our video will represent the relationship between the two
girls involving flashbacks and flash forwards to the elderly woman to remind the
audience the video is based on flasback.

5. NARRATIVE - EDITING
• As the majority of our music video will represent a flashback, we will identify this
through a slight change in colouration to identify this. This will create an obvious
difference between the flashback and what will appear as the present.
• When editing the clips of the teenage girls we will have a lot sharp movements
and cuts to show the fast speed lifestyles.

6. SHOTS
• We will be using a variety of shots within our music video including establishing
shots, long shots, extreme close ups, close ups, tracking shots & zooms.
• We will be using different styles of shots to determine the setting and characters,
for example within London when shooting the scenes of the teenagers we will use
tracking shots that will be at a fast pace as well as establishing shots. However
when shooting the scenes including the elderly lady we will use extreme close ups
and zooms all of which will be at a slower pace to show the fragility linked to the
elderly lady compared to the youthfulness of the two teenage girls
