The document summarizes activities from a lesson on the instructional cycle. It discusses applying guiding principles in strategy selection, determining outcome-based teaching and learning, and applying effective questioning techniques. The teacher stated learning objectives, used collaborative work and discussion as teaching activities aligned with the objectives, and employed a group assessment activity. Outcome-based teaching focuses on empirically measuring student performance on intended learning outcomes and designing teaching and assessments around demonstrating skills and content mastery. Effective questioning involves using different types of questions and providing feedback to students.

EDU673: Instruct. Strat. for Differentiated Teach & Learn
Introduction
Classroom unit plans are documents used by teachers to map long-term plan throughout the school term or a year. Teachers should have a long-term unit plan that sets their goals and objectives throughout the term in a bid to enhance student performance. Teachers should be able to understand their students as different students come from different backgrounds and environment; exhibiting different personalities, traits, and intellectual capabilities. Students behave differently whenever they are in school and at home and this defines their ultimate achievement.
Some students come from very poor background while others come from rich families and this could contribute to the variations in academic performances; which is the ultimate goal behind learning institutions. Lack of enough learning materials such as stationeries and classrooms could reduce leaning efficiency. Some of the students are drug addicts and lack proper parental guidelines leading them to mischievous behaviors’ thus creating an environment not conducive for studying. A well designed unit plan will enable teachers to plan their work well and this l also favors the weak students who cannot perform very well in class.
First Step: Identification of the objective
The first thing that a teacher should do is to identify the content, unit title and the unit subject. The teacher should identify the area of study and the specific topics to be studied over that specific period. A mathematics teacher for example may decide on the topics to study such as algebra, subtraction, multiplication and division. However, teachers should be able to understand their learning objectives in creating a big goal and a long-term plan. The teacher should also be able to create two measurable unit objectives that will enable students to think critically as like align with the CCSS. A Physics teacher for example should make students to think critically in their practical work.
Teachers should be able to create a description of what they want their students to master and understand. Taking students out in the field will really make them understand what they are studying. An Environmental teacher for example should take students out for field studies to make them think critically through exposure.
Second step: Evidence of learning, pre-assessments, formative assessments and summative assessments.
· Pre-assessment: In this step, teacher should be able to detect the preparedness of the students. They should test the thinking of the students if indeed their thoughts are in the content of the subject that is about to be studied. In this case, teachers should be able to understand the interest and capability of the students before the learning process begin. Besides that, teachers should be to identify the learning materials.
· Formative assessme.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

EPISODE 10
The Instructional Cycle
Prepared by:
Jaylene P. Albay & Angel Pimentel
2. Activity 10.1: Applying the Guiding Principles in the selection and use of Strategies
OBSERVE Observe one class with the use of the observation sheet for greater focus
then analyze my observations with the help of the guide questions.
1. The more senses that are involved, the more
and the better learning.
2. Learning is an active process. The teacher encourage her students to participate
by asking what they have learn from the lesson.
3. A non-threatening atmosphere enhances
learning.
The teacher didn’t give any pressure and
embarras her learners when they can’t answer the
question and the teacher teach her learner with
energy and the smile on her face.
4. Emotion has the power to increase retention
and learning.
Teacher always show a smiling face to increase
the retention and learning of the students in the
class.
5. Good teaching goes beyond recall of
information
Teacher emphasize the significance of putting
what students have learned into context
3. 6. Learning is meaningful when it is connected to
students’ everyday life
Teacher allows her learners to share their
everydays experiences in link to the topic
7. An integrated teaching approach is far more
effective than teaching isolated bits of
information.
Teacher integrates any subjects that relates to the
topics.
4. Analyze
What is the best method of teaching? Is there such thing?
Reflect How do we select the appropriate strategy for our lesson?
Before we select an appropriate strategy for our lesson, we should determine first
our learning objectives of the lesson where the knowledge, skills, attitude of the learners is
captured. Considering what should be the students will able to learn at the end of the
lesson. In selecting an appropriate strategy, we should learn to consider the learners
capacity level.
Student-centered is the best method of teaching wherein learners needs are the focus
and it is also a way to develop many skills and also it is for their own good. Overall, it
depends on the nature of students, the subject matter and the motivation of the students.
5. Activity 10.2: Determining Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning
OBSERVE Observe a class and answer the following questions.
1. Did the teacher state the learning objectives/intended learning outcomes (ILOs) at the
beginning of the class? Did he/she share them with the class? How?
Yes, she did. After checking of attendance and having their energizer, she tells the the students all
the intended learning outcome and explain it briefly. After that discussion follows.
2. Whatt teaching-learning activities (TLAs) did he/she use? Did these TLAs helps him or
her attain his/her lesson objectives/ ILOs? Explain your answer.
. The teaching learning that the teacher activity use is the Collaborative work activities where the
learners will work as a group. Wwhre learners will work independently but collaboratively. She also
encourage her students to participate in the discussion.
3. What assessment tasks did teacher employ? Is/are these aligned to the lesson
objectives/ILOs?
The assessment that the teacher did employ is a group activity. Each group have their corresponding
activity that is aligned to attain one one of the ILOs and present it in front of the class.
6.
7. Analyze
What are your thoughts about Outcome-Based Teaching and
Learning (OBTL)?
Reflect Reflect on the use of OBTL.
Outcome-Based Teaching and learning (OBTL) is the learning outcomes which is
expected to be able to perform after completing the lesson you teach. The OBTL also use
to measure the performance of the students and also measure the teacher’s effectiveness.
Teaching and learning activities are then carefully designed to facilitate students to
achieve these outcomes. Through OBTL, teacher can provide students with systematic
learning experiences thus better- quality education and the learning is beneficial to
students wherein they could use it in their real life situation.
Outcome-Based Teaching and learning (OBTL) focuses on teaching and learning
or assissting to achieve learning outcomes and it evidence from the assessment results and
students learning experiences.
8. Activity 10.3 : Applying Effective Questioning Techniques
OBSERVE
1. Factual/Convergent closed/Low level Why are most artistic expression functional rather
than for displays and enjoyment only?
2 Divergent/ Higher-Order/ Open-ended/

What are the different musical instruments in Luzon?
a. evaluation How can we use different musical instruments in
Luzon?
b. inference What are the usage of the arts and crafts?
c. comparison How would you compare idiophone to chordophone?
d. application How will you preserve and promote the arts and
crafts that is available in your in your area?
e. problem-solving Can we ensemble our instruments? Or those
instruments?
3. Affective What is the importance of every arts and crafts in our
daily lives?
9. Analyze
1. Neil Postman once said: "Children go to school as question marks and leave school as periods!"
Does this have something to do with the type of questions that teachers ask and the questioning
and reacting techniques that they employ?
Yes it does. The students go to school to learn something from the lessons and
teacher’s doing great in class. Students go to school with no learning yet after class,
they’ll go home with so much learning from their school. If the teacher has a good art
of questioning, and then the technique of the teacher ask to catch students attention,
students will really learn.
10. Reflect
Reflect on the importance of using various teachniques.
Reacting techniques is one way of addressing needs of the students in terms of learning.
Teacher need to respond or give feedbacks to students answer or outputs for them to know what
they are saying is correct or need improvement. It also help them to boost confidence of the
learners to continue participating in class.
13. ”Well, OBTL is a student-center philosophy that focuses on empirically
measuring student performance, which are called outcomes as opposed
to traditional learning's emphasis on resources or inputs. Like in
Competency-Based Education, it requires students to demonstrate that
they have learned the required skills and content. It is also Holistic
because it requires educators to a.) identify the outcome of teaching the
Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) or what the learners supposed to be
able to do and at what standard; b) devise Teaching and Learning
Activities. Etc. formulate Assessment Tasks (Ats) that tell how students
can use knowledge in academically and professionally appropriate
ways, such as solving problems, designing experiments, or
communicating with clients. It is Student-Centered and promotes
competencies.” maam Ida reply
