2. SOMETHING ABOUT US AND
OUR SCHOOL
• We attend an arts school Tokajícka
• Our school is based in downtown Bratislava
• We are students of fashion
• We are grateful for amazing teachers with a lot
of knowledge and friendly classmates

3. EVENTS
• There are many fun events in our school. For example,
European Sports Week, the English Olympics, a
Valentine's drop of blood and more:
• First graders can go on a ski trip
• On halloween we wear masks all day and at the end of
the school day we have comeptition „who has a better
mask“
• Second graders have landscape course (krajinársky
kurz)
o It is an event where we draw buildings in the old
town of Bratislava all week
o At the end of the week we will go to the botanical
garden and the zoo

6. ARTISTIC PRACTICE
(UMELECKÁ PRAX)
• It is one of the most important
lesson in our department. Artistic
practice is a practical lesson
where we learn how to sew. We
first learned how to sew by hand
and later by using sewing
machines. We started with
different types of sewing on a
small sample book, and later we
learned how to make pockets,
ruffles, atc.

OF CLOTHING

• It is another lesson that is very
important for our department.
Thanks to this lesson, we are able
to make our sketches into real
clothes. In construction and
modeling of clothing we create
stencils (patterns) here, from
which we later make clothes. This
lesson is a little more difficult to
understand then others, so we
really need pay attention in order
to succeed.

• In this lesson, we correctly learn to
draw a human figure. First, we started
to draw skull and bones and then
gradually we learned to draw parts of
the body. Later we went into the details
of face and then self- portrait.

• It is an another very important
subject
• on this subject we look at
fashion from a technological
perspective
• we learn how to manufacture
components for clothes
• we produce components by
following technical operations
• technical operation-in detail
described every single step of
manufacturing components and
clothing

• in this subject we look at all different
kinds of materials
• we learn about origin of materials
• we study the ancient use of materials
• we learn how materials are produced
• we learn all the qualities about
materials
• we learn how these materials are
further processed

CULTURE
(DEJINY VÝTVARNEJ
KULTÚRY)
• DVK is one of the classes we
need in order to graduate so
it is very important that we
understand it well. This
lesson is interesting because
we learn about the history of
different arts cultures. We
learn about architecture,
sculpture and paintings
from different centuries.

16. ART PREPARATION
(VÝTVARNÁ PRÍPRAVA)
• In this class we learnt how to blend colors and how
to use different drawing techniques. We created
many different drawings, first by using shades of
black/white and later we transferred to colors. In
this lesson, we took a trip to the old town of our
capital city (Bratislava) as well as the zoo where we
drew many things from landscape to animals.
• Let’s not forget about our yearly final (commission)
project. In this project, we present our work to
several teachers every year. These teachers not only
judge our work on this project, but also our efforts
and work during the whole school year. Combining
these two aspects they decide what final grade we
get in this lesson (Art Preparation).
