A Norwegian chef
Bent Stiansen
Bent Stiansen is a chef from Norway.
He is well known and is a very good cook.
In 1993 he was named the world's best chef.
He was the first Norwegian chef to win gold.
What does Bent Stiansen cook?
Bent Stiansen bakes cakes and makes various
dishes. He makes a little of everything. He has
written a couple of cookbooks and makes lots
of good food.
Norwegian festive food:
Pinnekjøtt / Lamb ribs
This is a meal we usually eat at Christmas. It is smoked lamb with potatoes,
mashed turnips and brown sauce next to it.
Ribbe / Ribs
This is a meal that we
usually eat in the
Christmas time. It is
pork, with potatoes and
brown sauce next to it.
For breakfast
For breakfast we often eat
bread or oatmeal.
Lunch
For lunch we often have lunchbox with bread, butter and cheese and the
beside we often have some fruit.
For dinner
For dinner we sometimes
have rice porridge.
Komle
It is made of
potatoes and flour,
and we have
vegetables and
butter next to it.
Fårikål / Sheep cabbage
It is lamb with cabbage and pepper.
Fisk / Fish
You probably know
what it is but it is
something that
comes from the sea.
Lapskaus / Stew
It is a ‘’soup’’ made from vegetables and potatoes, someone also add
meat or sausages in the ‘’soup’’
Kjøttkaker i brun
saus / big
‘’meatballs’’ in
brown sauce
It is big meatballs cooked in
brown sauce, with potato and
carrots next to it.
Evening food /supper
For evening meal we often eat bread, oatmeal or fruit.
